I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
Emily is about to get married. She is so excited and scared at the same time. Her husband does not know her secrets - secrets that could destroy this life she has built. After the I do's and the kiss, they turn to their friends that have gathered and Emily is shocked. Standing in the back of the group is Christian, her boyfriend when she was at Uni. This is not going to end well.
The Wedding Guest is a novel of twists and turns and the completely unexpected. What a thrill ride!
A real page turner with some shocking twists towards the end. Really took me by surprise at that point. Looking forward to reading more from the author.
Incredibly gripping, fantastic story! Fast paced, suspenseful & exciting! What more could you ask for!!!
Thank you Bookoutre and Netgalley for this ARC.
I usually love Kathryn's books but this was for me had something not quite there.
Storyline - tick
Characters - tick
But something was just missing.
Good thriller that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats the whole time. Loved how this was written and presented to the reader.
It was an interesting book from an author I've been following, though not my favourite by her. The plot twist at the end definitely got me.

When Emily and Jeremy get married on a sandy beach overlooking a blue ocean it’s the happiest day of Emily’s life but as she turns to their guests she’s shocked to see Christian Holmes, a man she had a relationship with at university and who she’d hoped never to see again. Emily has a secret that she’s kept from Jeremy and when Christian says he’s going to expose it and make her pay she knows he means it.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.
Very good!! Was very entertained and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Highly recommend!!
I think I may have found a new favorite author. Finished this one in two sittings. The twisty plot keeps you wanting more, and the ending was not what I was anticipating. The author makes it very easy to navigate between past and present, ultimately bringing everything together in the end. A great read!
This was a wild ride of a read but also kinda triggering for me b/c of the abuse. This was my 2nd book by Kathryn Croft and I loved the 1st book. So I think this is a me problem and not an author/writing problem. I will definitely be giving her another read!

This book at times was a little repetitive. I found it hard to connect to the characters. It started off really well but fell flat in the middle. Luckily the ending redeemed itself.
Great story. I was really surprised at the ending (seeing who was really the culprit in this story). I did not see that coming. I would recommend this to anyone who likes suspense. I also really liked the characters.
Good book. I love the plot and main character. This book really held my attention and I would definitely recommend it.
Kathryn Crofts books always keep me interested and I fly through them. This one took a little bit to get into but once I got to that point I was sucked in and finished it in that sitting.
Great read told from past to present perspective. This story started off slowly but really became a brilliant thriller.
“The Wedding Guest” by Kathryn Croft was a great psychological thriller. Every chapter made me want to keep turning the page to find out what was going to happen next.
It is told from the main character’s perspective and across two different timelines. The story had plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader locked in.
Thank you NetGalley, Kathryn Croft, and Bookouture for this ARC. I can’t wait to see what comes next for Kathryn Croft.
This book just didn't do it for me. It took a very long time for me to get interested, as I found a lot of it to be unrealistic. Once the characters' true identity was revealed, it was more interesting.
I did finish this story, a bit lengthy and drawn out, but able to get through it The title of the story is actually her ex who shows up as a surprise guest. The years has passed and our main character has never seen him so the story is a mystery as to why he is there. He hints and tries to blackmail her wanting to make her pay but the reason why is the mystery. The story makes her ex come across as abusive and controlling who does not let go and continues to guilt her and bringing up the past and letting us believe he is perpetuating the abuse. It was a bit unbelievable to read as the main character is going along out of fear.
The story goes from past to present merging the two together and felt exhausting to a point. There are holes in the story which does not make sense in my opinion and feels like the story was a bit of a reach. I won't spoil the ending for readers but did not enjoy the way the story ended.
This started off well but, didn't grab me as much as I thought it would so, with that in mind I'm only giving this 3 stars. The story irritated me and left me feeling unsatisfied. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
This book grabs you from start to finish . I could not put it down . The perfect thriller to curl up on a brisk autumn afternoon and read .
