Everyone has secrets that they don't want exposed. But you don't want them exposed at your wedding!
Emily is marrying Jeremy and her ex, Christian is an uninvited guest at her wedding.
She is forced to bow to Christian's wishes to keep her secret. Her husband has no idea, and considers Christian as a friend.
Ahh, I was bamboozled by this book! Christian made sure he knew everything about Emily's current life, and insinuated himself into the relationships she had with her husband's family.
Just shows, everything is not as it seems.
Life has a way of getting back at you, eventually. They call it Karma.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I found this a creepy addictive read with an intriguing mystery running throughout. What happened between Emma and Christian 15 years ago? The characters and plot are so believable and as in all Kathryn Croft psychological thrillers, full of drama and suspense. I wasn't sure which characters I should trust and believe in. Readers are in for a treat with the explosive ending. Highly recommended.
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thank you to the publisher and talented author. I like this author. This book is a page turner. The characters are realistic and add to the story. The past has come back to haunt Emily. What will happen? Can Christian be trusted? What will happen to the new family? Enjoy this mystery. Try to discern the ending.
I have read all off Kathryn Crofts books now and they are all fantastic this was no exception. Excellent psychological thriller which had me gripped through out. It had so many crazy twists and turns with a jaw dropping ending which I did not see coming.
Emily is getting married to the perfect man and has gained a stepdaughter who she loves. But Emily in hiding a big secret from her new husband if he knew what Emily had done he wouldn’t be marrying her. On their wedding day Emily walks down the aisle when she looks at her guests she sees one that shouldn’t be there the one who could make Emily’s perfect life fall apart. When he stands up what will he say. Emily will fight for the new life she has built but what will she need to do to keep that happy life safe.

My Review:
Enjoyed!!!!! This is definitely not my first rodeo with this author and it certainly won’t be my last. I have read most of this authors books and have loved them all. What isn’t there to like about her books is the real question here. Now let’s dive in to this one. First off, the blurb is what drew me in to this awesome book. How can I resist a read where the past has a way of catching up with you. You can’t escape it no matter how hard you try or how many years it’s been. This motto throughout the book is what kept me interested and at the edge of my seat the entire time. I never knew what was going to happen next. Next up the characters. Each of them possessed certain qualities that made this book wonderful. Last but not least my favorite part of every book, the ending. It left shocked and speechless which is hard to do. It had a twist I didn’t see coming at all. I will definitely be reading more of this authors books in the future. She keeps writing them and I will keep on reading them.
In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This one has a plot that is very overused; 15 years prior, Emily did something bad. She’s tried to make a new life for herself and is getting married to the man of her dreams, but an uninvited guest ruins the day.
I guess the wedding isn’t part of the cliché plot, but this follows the formula of many other books: someone from the past knows something about you and is threatening to ruin your life. I just couldn’t get very into this book, because these types of mystery/thrillers are all very similar and average.
The ending of this was the only redeeming quality, because it actually surprised me by not following the typical formula, but unfortunately that was the only part I thought was good. The whole thing was fine, but very uninspired. 2.5 stars, rounded up for the ending.
(Thank you to Bookouture, Kathryn Croft and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on September 14, 2023.)
This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, Action, intrigue, murder, gas lighting, abuse, mystery, and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I will recommend reading this book as it was worth reading! it wasn't one of my all time favorites but still worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
