Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair, has everything I could've possibly wanted in a rom com:

- Hilarious, found-family side characters that had me laughing out loud

- Hot, charming love interest and 🌶🌶🌶 spicy scenes

- Beautiful descriptions of the Blue Ridge Mountains that made me want to buy a cottage in a small town, and go to an autumn festival

- A main character that's relatable, funny, imperfect, but ultimately strong and capable

This was an excellent spicy romcom read. I loved the wittiness and the banter. It was very heartwarming, just an all around good read.

At the beginning of the book, Hannah is living with her boyfriend, father of her baby (Bowie, 2 months old). In the first quarter of the book, Hannah loses her job, her boyfriend breaks up with her (when she was expecting a proposal), and having nowhere else to go, she moves in with her mother and stepfather in the mountains outside of Atlanta, Georgia. The book then follows Hannah as she regains confidence, develops a crush on the hot neighbor, and works through her complicated relationship with her mother.

What I liked: The description of motherhood is so sweet and so spot on. Bowie is not an afterthought or a plot device to move along the story. Hannah's struggles as a new mom and her relationship with Bowie take center stage, which I loved. Hannah is a flawed character and watching her grow through the course of the book, which stretches out over almost a year, is also fun to watch. The book tackles some topics of anxious attachment style (although it's never called that), as well as sexism and maternity leave. Possibly a spoiler: the book also portrays a positive co-parenting relationship, although it takes the characters a minute to get there. I loved seeing non-traditional parenting options portrayed.

For whatever reason, I lost interest halfway through the book. I kept going, and it got better again, but the middle did lag a bit.

Otherwise, I do recommend, and a thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read in exchange for an honest review.

Heartwarming, relatable, compelling, funny, sexy.

Hannah Tate is in her 30s. She has 5 month old baby, Bowie. She just got fired. She thinks her boyfriend Killian, is going to propose, when in reality, they’re going to break up but she doesn’t know it yet. She moves back with Bowie to her mama’s house in Blue Ridge GA, where she meets sexy neighbor River.

Hannah Tate is a mess, and she’s aware of it. She’s trying to figure life out while learning to “co-parent”, deal with emotional baggage from her childhood, being all hot and bothered by this sexy neighbor, and embarking a new business adventure. Hannah knows her worth and knows not to settle.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Thank you NetGalley and Union Square & Co for the ARC!

Hannah Tate’s just been dumped by her baby daddy and the man she thought she loved. She takes her baby and moves in with her mother and stepdad to renovate the empty apartment below their cabin and turn it into an Airbnb, with the help of the hot contractor next door, of course. This was a very sweet romance that had me laughing out loud in several places, as well as crying in others. Every new mom as well as anyone who’s ever had to start their life over needs to read this. Funny and smart and steamy and lovely all at once, this book is everything I want in a romance novel.

This book was a family oriented, spicy, small town dream

the storyline was adorable and warm, the feeling of finding your feet and finding your family just does something to me

it was beautiful and gripping in every way

half way through i thought it really could’ve finished there but in the end i was glad it carried on, that ending was like being tucked up in a blanket with a hot chocolate on a rainy day

i think there’s something beautiful about the way that Laura writes about motherhood and the way Hannah is with Bowie. it’s honestly beautiful and breathtakingly real

i think it’s the uk thing but the names for the grandparents just wasn’t for me but overall. this is a good one!

thank you to netgalley for this ARC - coming February 2024

Just a woman trying to find herself as she navigates new motherhood, a breakup complete with conscious coparenting and the drama that is her life! She packs up her little one and heads back to live with her mom and stepdad in the mountains of Georgia and helps them turn their Murder set of an Airbnb into something people actually want to stay in. Throw in a hot neighbor, matchmaking parents and a whole host of supporting characters in a small town and we have Rom-Com success! Guaranteed HEA!

I loved this almost forced proximity rom com. Was a little more slow burn-y than I usually like, but the delicious banter definitely made up for it. I loved that the unfortunate beginning of Hannah’s love map, played into how she deals with the hot carpenter; and River is definitely the kinda man any lady would like to start over with again. LOVED this.

i was lucky enough to get an arc of this lovely romcom and i was not disappointed! this book had everything i need in a romcom. a sweet new mom mc, a strong queer friend group, a sweet (slightly damaged) love interest who READS and has a CAT, interesting family dynamics, laugh out loud funny moments, and a sprinkling of spice.

i loved watching hannah grow throughout this book. watching her go from someone who didn't know her worth and put her desires in the back seat to a strong, confident, and self assured woman was so heartwarming.

the side characters were well developed and added so much to the story. i loved seeing the support she gave and received from her friend group. community was such a strong theme in this book, and i adored the community created here.

read if you love rom coms that delve into other relationships as well, small town romances, the single parent trope, queer characters, and laugh out loud funny moments. "Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair" will be out to the world February 13th 2024!

I LOVED this book, it is such a good read. I was in a reading slump for so long and so skeptical about starting this book because i didnt know if i would be able to finish it while in a slump, but this book officially ending my reading slump.
I don't usually like first pov books, but I really enjoyed this book, so much I didn't actually realize it was in first pov until I was already way into the book.
I loved the mom representation so much. The first half of the book describes what it's like to be a mom with an absent partner and I feel like moms everywhere need to read that to help validate their feelings.
This book truly had me so hooked with every word, Iloved feeling like i was growing with Hannah as she moved along and became more independent.

I also loved the bit on Kiara dealing with pre-eclampsia and the doctor ignoring her symptoms, I dealt with LITERALLY the same thing with my sister, so reading that makes me feel soo seen.

100% recommend reading this book. It's cute, it's spicy, it's wholesome, its real

I adored this! Fantastically dirty, heartfelt and wholesome. Strong recommend. Very slow start for me, just because I had to acclimate to the talkative writing style and character voice, but I loved it. I think it's a great story about figuring out how to be a real adult and a parent, as well as demanding what you need/want from a relationship. Great subplots, fun secondary characters and sweet queer rep.

CWs: birth trauma, homophobia.

I absolutely looooved this one! Blue Ridge mountains, a blonde guy who is good with his hands, and a treehouse house. This was one cookie that I absolutely loved devouring.

The beginning was hard for me to get through because Hannah deserved so much more than what her partner at the time was giving her. Wanting to break up but still have her live with him(and pay rent) just so that he could see his son without having to take care of him was a beyond crappy move. So I was very glad when Hannah kicks off the rest of the story by saying no and moving in with her parents to help them renovate and start their Airbnb.

I will say that I am biased towards this book because the Blue Ridge Mountains has my heart. But I will say, it was such a good read. Hannah learns how to build boundaries, how to run a business, and how to put herself first. All the while a man named River helps her renovate. I was convinced for a hot second that River wasn't his real name, but it turns out that his mother did indeed give him that name. River dislikes digital technology, doesn't have a TV, checks his phone weekly if at all, and contracts out renovations to Hannah's family for the price of attending her weekly family meals.

I enjoyed how the story approached their budding romance and how the author approached all the relationships in the story. Hannah's relationship with her mother, her stepfather, and her relationship with the new community she was becoming a part of.

I wasn't a fan of Hannah Tate because she had a lot of woe is me attitude. Also her baby daddy was a jerk and then she didn't fight her illegal firing. Idk I don't like hot mess reads but I tried this one out.

This was way better than I was expecting. It was hilarious and so full of joy. I love this new trend in romcoms where people act like full functioning adults who are emotionally available (somewhat) and if they aren't, they work through it in a healthy way.

This is a small town romance that highlights family dynamics as well. Community and the importance of happiness was a big thing as well. This is a very sweet story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a perfect read for you if you’re interested in a small town romance featuring a newly single mom trying to navigate through a sea of changes. This was a feel good read with a lot of humor, spice, and a hgtv feel. I loved that this book also touched on the fears of parenthood, divorce, split households, family trauma and the concept of what love is “supposed” to look like. I did find myself getting slightly annoyed with the fmc and mmc a few times through the book, which did end up making me give this book 4 stars instead of 5. The arguments and conversations the main love interest have felt very forced and awkward, which constantly had me questioning if they would actually ever make it long term. I didn’t really find the appeal in the main male character, but I did appreciate how the author redeemed his character by the end of the book.
Overall, I really enjoyed the parenting aspects of this book. As a person who has experienced trauma from my own mother, and also now has children of my own, I really related to the main female character at times. I could understand her frustrations, desires, goals, and struggles and relate to them. I loved the authors use of humor and found myself reading this book fairly quickly.

4/5⭐️ 2.75/5 🌶️

i loved everything about this delightful debut! Hannah is so relatable as a new mom, and I immediately felt a connection with her, her best friends, and her relationship with her family. It's laugh out loud funny and heartfelt and so, so, so real. River is a great love interest and I am obsessed with how both Hannah and River grow into each other as they fall in love. I can't wait to buy this for everyone I know!!
