Big thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC copy of the second book of this series!
This was another cute mystery and I just love Molly's character. I appreicate her whit & the cander. I did like this one a bit more than the first in the series, and loved the ending and the little suprise info we got from this second book!
Cute, quick read for sure!

Thank you to netgalley for providing an e-galley for review. The Mystery Guest follows Molly Gray's delightfully dark story, solving another untimely death in the hotel where she is a maid. Due to her quirky nature, she is able to notice things that other people do not. In this book, she also has takes someone under her wing to show them the cleaning ropes. We also get a little bit more of Molly's history. A fun cozy mystery.

Loved this. I really enjoyed everything about this. I loved the story completely. It will stay with me for a long time. I appreciate that the author has very strong voice - one I really enjoy. Looking forward to the holiday one coming out soon.

The Mystery Guest brings back Molly Gray, now promoted to Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, who gets caught in another murder mystery when famous author J.D. Grimthorpe dies during an event. Molly’s quirks, especially her difficulty with social cues, make her both a suspect and an unlikely detective as she unravels secrets connected to her past.
While Molly’s character remains charming and engaging, the story sometimes feels slow due to long flashbacks. However, fans of The Maid will enjoy this return to Molly’s world, with its blend of mystery and heart.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this eARC.

Heartwarming, cozy, and sweet. Mark my words, Molly the Maid will become one of this generation's beloved investigators. The Mystery Guest felt just like watching an early episode of Monk, where he is still coming into his own and not everyone appreciates his skills of observation but he saves the day and proves his genius. I can't wait for the next installment and hope that there will be many cozy mysteries in Molly's future.

Book Review: The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose – A Working Mom's Take
As a working mom juggling countless tasks, I love a quick, engaging read, and The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose didn’t disappoint. This charming sequel brings back Molly Gray, the endearing hotel maid with a knack for getting involved in mysteries. When a famous author is found dead at the Regency Grand Hotel just before an event, Molly’s curiosity and keen eye for detail pull her into the investigation.
I appreciated Molly’s quirky, relatable nature—balancing the demands of her job while solving the mystery reminded me of how we moms handle everything at once. Prose’s light, witty writing kept me hooked, and the twists were just enough to keep the pages turning.
Final Thoughts: The Mystery Guest is a delightful, fast-paced read perfect for moms who want a cozy mystery with a lovable heroine. It’s engaging without being overwhelming—a great pick for a well-deserved break!

I’m so glad we got a sequel! Molly the maid’s character has grown and developed really well. I would love to see Molly further grow in future books. This is a quick, hilarious, easy to read and very enjoyable story. The ending wrapped up really well. Highly recommend!
Thank you NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

if you have not read the first novel you need to do that before reading this one. The first one is a gem and so is the second. Nita Prose has a mystery that keeps you turning the pages and guessing all the way through again.

The second installment in the Molly the Maid series was just as much fun as the first. Molly is now the head maid at the hotel and is training a new, very shy, very quiet new maid in training.
Unfortunately, there is also an exciting event happening, an author event in which a renowned mystery author will be making a special announcement.
Before he can.. he falls over dead!
Detective Stark is back on the scene once again, assuming that Molly is up to no good as well, and immediately assuming foul play. (This rather annoyed me, wouldn't you think heart attack, stroke, anything else rather than oh yeah this guy was murdered.. at least until an autopsy was done?)
But Molly refuses to let anyone get her down, and she is determined to keep her hotel clean.
Molly is a fun character. We get some glimpses into her childhood, and her growing up with her beloved gran, and while bittersweet, it was nice to see how far she has come since being a shy, lonely child.
Great read

Molly the Maid continues her reign as one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. Definitely kicking myself for waiting so long to read this one after it's pub day but I'm already hungry for more of her life. Huge thank you to Netgalley and Random House for my review copy!

Thank you to NetGalley for this advance copy of The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose. It was fun revisiting our girl Molly from “The Maid”! Such a memorable character whose Gumpian charm has always made me want to come back for more. This installment gave us a character from her past, so we got a great new perspective as we dove into Molly’s childhood. I hope this is a series that continues to delivery for years to come.

I really enjoyed the characters of the Regency Grand Hotel the first time and was glad to return. This book brings a new mystery for Molly to work through. The murder victim has a direct tie to Molly’s childhood. I really enjoyed more glimpses into Molly’s past, with more flash backs of Molly, Gran, and even Mr. Preston. If you liked The Maid, you will enjoy this also.
I received a free copy of this book from the publishers, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This title was even more enjoyable than The Maid - the first in the series.
I enjoyed the fan club and the way that the author kept us guessing about secrets in the hotel.
Recommended for fans of The Maid

Love this series. Molly the maid is such a strong character and how she pays attention to details allows her to solve the murder. We learn more about Molly’s childhood and relatives in this story. Looking forward to more escapades with Molly.

This one fell flat for me unfortunately! I enjoyed the first book but just couldn’t get into this one nearly as much. Nina remains quirky and love-able but the storyline left something to be desired. This will be great for those that love multiple books just for the character :)

Molly the Maid is back! I loved her quirky character in the first book “The Maid” so I was excited for her character to come back in this novel.
Molly the Maid is now head cleaner at the hotel, but it’s not always smooth sailing for her. Between grudging employees and a new death at the hotel. This time she has a very persona connection with the death.
I loved that the author went back in time for some of the backstory of how Molly knew the author who was killed.
This was a classic whodunnit that has you guessing till the end!
Thank you Netgalley for this early read of “The Mystery Guest” by Nita Prose.

Lauren Ambrose is an amazing narrator and captured Molly perfectly. The tone, the pacing, the emotions, and the other characters are all wonderful. I recommend the audiobook.
I enjoyed revisiting Molly as she helped solve another mystery. This really felt like a cozy mystery. I liked The Maid better, but this definitely kept me engaged. I'm interested to see if this will become a series. If so, I'll keep reading.
Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy. All opinions are my own.

I loved this so much!! Molly is so fun and great with her detective skills. I loved learning more about her background and her childhood with Flora. Such fun and entertaining books that I can’t put down!!
