There’s something about a coming of age story mixed with horror that just screams summer reading for me. This one gets going quick & the disappearance of Richard’s
friend is terrifying. Add in that no one really believes Richard (aside from Karen) & you get an effective thriller. There’s a creepy neighbourhood house, complete with the town urban legend, who isn’t completely fictional. The book goes to some strange places & I had no clue what the resolution would be. If you want a quick horror novel, this is a good one.
