Thank you to Netgalley and Siesta Keyy for the opportunity to read and review this book. I will be honest this book just looked ADORABLE to try, and it truly was. However, I feel like the premise started out great and then plateaus in the middle and stays that way through the entire story. I feel like only the female leading lady had an in-depth story and character development. If that is what you prefer, then I would recommend it for you. In addition, the spice level is a 1.5 level. To me, that means that they kiss and imply sexy times, not on page. In addition, if you hate gift giving as a love language, do not read this. Because of these points, I have to give this 4 out of 5 stars.

This book was adorable. I felt attached to the characters and I was like “now kiss!!!” the entire time.

As a fan of the 1992 move sharing the same title, this book was a quick read for me. If you liked Icebreaker by Hannah Grace, this is kind of a similar vibe. I wanted this book to be better, but it wasn't bad by any means. I probably wouldn't buy it in a physical copy for myself, but I'm not mad that I read it. It was a great beach read, if you're looking for something easy to read that doesn't require much thought

First and foremost thank you so much to netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. The thoughts are all my own.
This was such a cute fast read! I love the character development and growth. I’m a sucker for such a cinnamon roll of a guy!!

Lisa Daily’s *The Cutting Edge* offers a light and fun romance that combines the thrill of professional sports with the charm of a quirky, fake-it-‘til-you-make-it premise. While the setup is intriguing, the execution falters at times, making it an enjoyable but uneven read.

Logan Rivers is a likable hero—a star hockey player struggling with a slump that threatens both his game and his confidence. His vulnerability and determination to get back on track make him an engaging character, though his development feels somewhat surface-level.

Bella, a former competitive figure skater turned "curse-breaker," is the standout. Her unconventional scheme to pay off her debts by posing as a mystical problem solver is both funny and endearing. Bella’s quick thinking and resilience make her relatable, though the weight of her deception creates a predictable and slightly frustrating source of tension.

The chemistry between Logan and Bella is undeniable, with plenty of playful banter and sweet moments. However, the romance suffers from a lack of depth, as their relationship develops quickly without fully exploring the emotional stakes of their connection. The inevitable reveal of Bella’s secret feels rushed, and the resolution is too tidy to feel entirely satisfying.

The sports backdrop is a fun addition, but it often takes a backseat to the romance. More insight into the world of hockey and Bella’s figure skating past could have enriched the story and added layers to the characters.

Despite its flaws, *The Cutting Edge* is an entertaining read for fans of sports romances and lighthearted love stories. The humor, charm, and unique premise keep the pages turning, even if it doesn’t leave a lasting impression.

This book was fun to read. I really enjoyed the characters, especially Poppy. Logan is one of the characters that makes you want to claim him as your book boyfriend, cute and charming. The writing was great and easy to read. I loved the dual POV and the short chapters. I read this in one day!

It's cute and relatively easy to read.
I've been a big fan of sports romances lately, particularly hockey romance; this is more of a romance where the protagonists happen to have ice-based professions, which doesn't quite hit the mark for what I want in a sports read. This kind of sums up the book as whole for me - had promise, but left me wanting more.

- Single father
- Meet cute with a hockey puck
- He falls first

I absolutely loved this book!

Figure skater Coco gives skating lessons to save money to fund her Olympic dreams. She had been to two Olympics, but the highest she placed individually was fourth. She has one last chance at the gold before she's too old to compete...but she will need to work hard to get there.

One night, when she is in a hurry and one of her students, Poppy, hasn't been picked up, she and Poppy head off to find Poppy's father, who works at the same ice rink complex where Coco teaches. Poppy's father Logan is in the NHL and is at practice when Coco arrives - and is immediately hit by a wayward puck.

Logan has been in a slump and is mortified he injured Coco. He has been attracted to Coco for some time and spends most of his free time visiting with her in the hospital. The two become quite smitten with each other.

But Coco's dreams are her top priority. She doesn't have the time or inclination to have a relationship. Logan makes it his goal to convince her otherwise...

What a cute read! I adored Logan and he made the list of top book boyfriends for the year.

Thank you NG for an e-arc!

This is the first book I've read from this author and I enjoyed it!

A cute romcom between Coco (an olympic figure skater) and Logan (nhl hockey captain).

I enjoyed the writing, and characters. Logan is a wonderful man. It was so sweet how he took care of Coco.

I can't wait to read more from this author.

I needed a break from some of the heavier novels I was reading and this provided the perfect escape. Knowing the rivalry between hockey players and figure skaters, not to mention being a fan of certain movies about the coming together of the 2, this novel did not disappoint. I sped through this in a few hours and enjoyed every minute.

I have no idea how Coco was alive after receiving a 103 mph slap shot to the head but I went with it and enjoyed the wild ride that ensued. It’s a feel good book and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.

Another sport romance in a tidal wave of authors realising that *shocker* romance can be packaged in a multitude of tropes. There was nothing about this book, other than the cover, that made it feel like I hadn't wasted my time. The majority of the plot takes place in a hospital and develops at a snails pace. The mix between closed doors scenes and then very steamy scenes? It's like the author couldn't decide whether this was going to be a hush romance or a smut. It took too long to get going, had questionable plot choices, and God you could tell the Author simply shoe-horned in sport scenes just so they could sell it as a sport romance.

Thank you, NetGalley for the early copy of The Cutting Edge!

I thought this was a super cute sports romance between a figure skater and a NHL superstar. It was an incredibly wholesome and fluffy rom-com that was the perfect pallet cleanser.

Things I liked:
- single dad/ golden retriever mmc tropes
- I love a good professional athlete storyline
- the meet-cute was really adorable and unique!
- it was a fast paced/ quick read

Overall, I really enjoyed it!

Logan has hit a rut and is struggling when he can't seem to score in the last three games. With talks of trades coming into the equation, the coach takes it upon himself to "hire" a lucky charm for Logan. Enter Coco; a retired supposed to be Olympic figure skater who has been hired to turn Logan's luck around. What happens when Coco meets Logan's daughter and they get closer and closer but Coco has one HUGE problem. She still hasn't told Logan how their luck of finding one another wasn't just pure luck but actually planned.

It was a nice story, but plot isn't something new- I read similar stories so it wasn't that interesting to me. And I became to old for this YA behaviour.

Thanks to Netgalley and Siesta Key House for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Cutting Edge is the first title I’ve read by Lisa Daily, and I’m a sucker for a hockey book.

This was a quick read and it hit all the genre buttons: miscommunication, hot hockey player, single dad, hot figure skater, amazing best friend and even though you can clearly tell Logan is a man written by a woman, I don’t care. He’s a sexy, sweet hockey player who falls in love with Coco, an Olympic figure skater at first puck. See what I did there?

There’s one off page spicy scene and a short sex scene that tries to be spicy, but feels like it’s going through the motions. See what I did there again? It feels like a fade to black would have been a better choice.

The only thing that bugged me was how quickly Coco’s mood swings from ooh I like this hot hockey player to omg, he’s ruined my career and omg he betrayed me. At most the accident of the hockey puck gone awry is just that, an accident. And the betrayal is in the grey area, as one could argue right back that Coco was doing the same thing being a lucky charm for hire. But I digress.

If you like perfect men and independent women, single dads and fiercely independent Olympic figure skaters with a not so meet cute, this book is the quick read for you.

This was really cute! I will say there were some aspects that required suspension of disbelief (pro hockey player texting from the bench mid game??) but I loved Logan and Coco’s chemistry and banter, especially during the hospital scenes.

Thanks to Netgalley. This was such a sweeettt and cuttest story. It involved my favorite hockey player and single dad . I also love it when the FMC kicks ass and we cant get any cooler than a Olympic Figure Skater. This was such a easy read I started late last night and finished by noon today even while going thru life. I cant wait to read more by Lisa Daily.

A sweet dual POV hockey romance. The story was fun but I didn’t really enjoy the characters themselves much which made it hard for me to commit to the story. Still hits the general hockey romance check points though I would definitely read more from this author.
