I adored this book! It grabbed my attention right away and kept me reading until way past my bedtime. I loved Claire and James! The tension was perfect - so, so good!

Oh I loved this so much. The slow burn romance of my dreams. This book was a good read, which made me fall in love with the characters. I recommend this book.

This was cute, but not my favorite. A light read though for a food lover who wants to have a less stressful outlet than the Bear.

I soldiered through this but it seemed like the conflict was wrapped up about 80% of the way through the book and the rest of the book was designed to be an advertisement for True Love Waits.

I loved the premise of this one, but the execution fell flat. I didn’t ever feel like the part entered James treated her like he hated her was resolved, and he decided they were in a relationship before she even knew. I found him to be kind of controlling and not very swoony. Loved the setting though!

After multiple attempts, this is a DNF for me. The formatting of the eARC was a bit wonky, but even in spite of that, I just could not get into the characters or story.

Yes, Chef follows Claire, an aspiring chef who has moved to Paris to gain top-of-the-line culinary experience before she returns home to run the family business. Claire has also sworn off men and relationships with the main goal of working on herself while she is abroad. This works wonderfully, until a new (American) head chef joins the restaurant she is working at and immediately decides that he does not like Claire or her work.
This rom-com was cute and fun, and followed the classic enemies-to-lovers trope, as well as a workplace romance!

this book being set in the food world was a fun idea and i liked all the food descriptions at the start of the chapters. I also appreciated how respectful James was of Claire’s boundaries but that’s really where the compliments end.

REVIEW: Yes, Chef ⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Oftentimes, the two go hand in hand: good food can give people a common denominator to bond over. But when you take a group of people already so intimately close and then you give them an outstanding meal? That’s where the real magic happens.”― Waitlyn Andrews.
I am a sucker for a chef/cooking romance, so I was very excited to pick up Yes, Chef.
Claire leaves a manipulative ex and an unsupported mother to move to the other side of the world. She finally wants to do something for herself. I liked Claire’s character and arc throughout the book. She was strong and confident, and I could connect with her. James is a caring character who will do what he can to help Claire. Both of the main characters are so loveable.
Yes, Chef starts slowly, but then it picks up and hooks you in. The romance is a slow burn and a rom-com mixed. It is enjoyable following Claire and her adventures in Paris.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the last part of the book seemed too rushed and unnatural. Maybe making the book a bit longer would have lent to a more gradual and organic ending.
Thank you, Netgalley and Waitlyn Andrews, for the free advanced copy for my honest review!

Thank you for the opportunity to review - this was such fun subject material! I didn't feel pandered to and I learned a bunch, it was great!

Yes, Chef is a sweet romance that takes us to Paris to live our very own chef life.
Claire and James are a cute couple, albeit a little boring. Claire has recently abandoned her previous life thanks to a cheating boyfriend and a horrible mother and flitted abroad to Paris. James is working as a chef in the restaurant Claire is about to join. I enjoyed their overall relationship, even if Claire became a little exhausting with the seemingly never ending "he's mine" attitude when another woman was within 3 square meters of James.
What truly gave this book 4/5 stars was the background, description of cooking, and the transportation of my brain right into the scene. It's well-written, entertaining, and provides such a rich environment.

I had to “DNF” (did not finish) this book, not because it was bad but, because it was just way to slow for me. I kept finding myself reluctant to pick it up. It wasn’t bad, I think it just isn’t for me. If you want a slow paced chef romance, This may be for you.

This was a great book. I connected with the characters. I felt engrossed with the plot. I would read another book by this author.

Yes, Chef is a delightful debut romance set in Paris (!!!!!!! gets points already just for the setting). Claire Richards, an ambitious American chef, aims to earn a Michelin star but finds herself entangled with James Sullivan, the new head chef whose initial coldness masks deeper layers. The slow-burn romance between Claire and James is authentic and engaging, with well-developed characters and a charming depiction of culinary life.
I loved how the book beautifully captures the ambiance of Paris and the intensity of the restaurant scene. Claire's determination and independence were inspiring, and James' gradual transformation added depth to their relationship. Their chemistry felt real, and the culinary details sprinkled throughout the story made it even more enjoyable.
Although the ending felt a bit rushed, the overall warmth and chemistry make this a satisfying read. Recommended to anyone who loves rom-coms, foodie culture, and stories set in picturesque locations. It's a cozy, feel-good novel that's perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

The author had me at a romance between two chefs in the beautiful setting of Paris! Who wouldn’t love a story with those combined? I adored this slow burn, opposites attract, delicious romance.
A great debut by this author and for anyone who loves Paris, food and romance!
I want to thank NetGalley and Waitlyn Andrews for the e-ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy. I really enjoyed this and will be getting copies for my shop.

It was okay. It was fun, entertaining. Couldn’t really connect with the characters but still liked them. The slow burn was nice and the angst was there. Love the fact that it’s set in Paris (heart eyes emoji).

This was such a cute and heartfelt romance story. I loved the setting and family development throughout the book.

"Yes, Chef" is a light and breezy romantic comedy set against the backdrop of the vibrant Parisian culinary scene. Waitlyn Andrews crafts a charming story that follows Claire Richards, a determined chef seeking to establish her career on her own terms, away from the expectations of her family and the baggage of a failed relationship.
The novel's strength lies in its atmospheric descriptions of Paris and the mouthwatering depictions of French cuisine, which are sure to delight food enthusiasts. Andrews' writing style is engaging and humorous, capturing the witty inner monologue of Claire as she navigates her new life and career in the City of Lights.
The romantic tension between Claire and her new boss, the attractive and demanding Chef James Sullivan, is well-executed, with their initial clashes and slow-burning attraction providing entertaining moments throughout the narrative. However, the character development falls slightly short, leaving both protagonists feeling somewhat one-dimensional at times.
While the plot follows a predictable path, Andrews manages to keep the story entertaining with her breezy writing and relatable characters. The pacing is consistent, and the author effectively balances the romantic elements with Claire's professional ambitions and personal growth.
Overall, "Yes, Chef" is a charming and enjoyable read, perfect for those seeking a lighthearted escape into the world of Parisian cuisine and romance. While it may not break new ground in the romantic comedy genre, Andrews' novel delivers on its promise of a fun and entertaining read, making it a solid 3-star choice for fans of the genre.

Yes, Chef is for all The Bear lovers out there!
If you love any kind of entertainment set up in a kitchen setting, and if you love cute rom-coms, you're in luck!
Yes, Chef has all you need for a great romcom - great leading characters, Paris, a storyline that's well thought-out and not falling flat. Great dialogue, just the right amount of romance and sizzling chemistry between the characters.
For a debut novel it was surprisingly captivating and put one into a rather cozy and comfy mood, so please, definitely check it out, if you have a chance!
