Fantastic book. I just couldn’t put it down.
I do highly recommend this book. It’s well written .

. It was a fun fast and the furious romance. I liked Camila and I have been waiting for Nero’s story.

Savage Lover by Sophie Lark is a heart wrenching story where two people finally accept they are worthy of being loved.

'Two people who believe they’re unworthy of love… until they meet each other.

Camille Rivera is drowning. Her father’s sick, her brother’s in deep with a dirty cop, and her mechanic shop is failing.

Nero Gallo is the neighborhood psychopath. As vicious as he is gorgeous, Camille has watched him burn through every girl in a ten-mile radius, breaking hearts and never, ever getting attached.'

This is the 3rd book in the Brutal Birthright series and is a favorite. I loved the fast & furious car vibes with Nero, and Camilla is a great FMC. The story was refreshing, it took more of a normal relationship vibe vs the mafia set of the others.

Savage Lover is a bit different compare to the first two books, I really like the progress of how the main characters come to like each other. Even though there’s not a lot of mafia activity on this story beside planning a bank heist.

Nero and Camille is giving a good girl x bad boy kinda vibes, they are totally polar opposites of each other.
I admire Camille’s character, she’s very brave, determined and love her family dearly that she’s willing to do anything for them.
I also love to see the other side from Nero’s bad boy personality, he’s so much more than that once we got to know him a little bit more in here.

Overall, it’s a good addition to the series although it’s missing the mafia elements a little bit but I was still able to enjoy this fast-paced romance with a bit of Fast & Furious vibes!

⚠️ 𝐓𝐖: sexual content, drug use, violence, death of a parent, abandonment, cancer, brief mention of bullying, drug abuse and police brutality.

A good weekend book that you can escape into. A bad boy mafia boss’ son and a girl mechanic who looks after her family. I liked their dynamic, that there were surprising moments of depth, and an imaginative/fun storyline. Can be read as a stand-alone or a part of the series. I enjoyed seeing others from previous books pop up again.

I usually don't play favorites, but I love the Gallo boys! I'm 60% sure that Sebastian is going to be my favorite one, but Nero is very high on the list right now!

I love Mrs Lark's writing, I love her characters, I love her descriptions!

What I really loved in this book, was that we didn't get the whole 'they fell in love because of the looks', but because of how they smell and that the scent calms the other person.

Glad to know that Aida and Callum are still a mood!

Can't wait to start the next book!

What a whirlwind of book! I'd say if The Italian job got tossed in a blender with The Outsiders and Baby Driver, and mixed together, you'd get Savage Lover. The author gives us a bad boy a la mafia/crime family vibes and and a FMC who is just trying to do right by her family, and taking nothing in return. I really enjoyed the darker elements to this story, I don't normally gravitate to Mafia romances at all, but this was very well done and intriguing without being off-putting. I loved the authors knowledge about cars. I was legitimately hooked by page 1, reading Camille's current recap of what she was working on her fathers auto repair shop. As a women who also enjoys cars, it was so exciting to read a FMC in a more dirty job. I wasn't crazy about all the sub plots, I think some of them could have been left out completely and the story would not have been impacted but overall, a very well written out story. I had to give myself a dedicated reading slot, because I knew when I hit the 4th/final act, I was not going to be able to be stopped and sure I enough, I devoured the ending.

I had no idea this was part of a series of stories, this read incredibly well as a stand alone, and I will definitely being going back to read the previous stories, as well as following this series from here on out. And the soundtrack was a fantastic addition, it really sets the tone while you're reading from the authors perspective. Sophie Lark definitely has made me a fan!

This was my second book by the author. I really enjoyed the appearance and mention of characters from the first one I read. I loved the progression of the MCs relationship. It was definitely a slow burn, but so worth it!

I didn’t realise this was book 3 of a series and I’m not a reader who can pick up a book out of order sooo I started from the beginning and 2 days later I’m 3 books in and in love!
This is my favourite instalment of the series so far 💕
I love The characters! Nero and Camille are my favourite so far and I cannot wait to dive straight into book 4 to read Dante’s story.

Honestly, this was one of the more petty reasons I have DNFed a book. I really do not care about cars in any way, and I just did not feel like continuing with the book when that was a big part of chapter one.

I liked the car racing and car enthusiast vibe this cook has going. Nero and Camille's reluctance to each others' presence was cute, Although I do have a small tiff with the Chicago setting, I feel 3 books into the series Chicago is practically a character at this point. It feels like missed potential to use the Chicago's history with the mafia embedded a little more into the book. There is also Camille's dad, he talks like he's from the west coast, ending his questions with a "huh?" he sounded a bit stereotypical latine man. Also why does the author say Puerto Ricas are immigrants? We got a whole backstory to book 2 Mikolaj’s polish background but we don’t know anything about Camille other than latine stereotypes.

when will i accept the fact that sophie lark is not for me :( i truly can’t get behind her books (no fault of hers), but i was giving dark romance a genuine shot. i simply can’t connect to her writing or characters, and would rather pick up a contemporary romance instead!

One of those cases where I wished it was longer. I have no issues with the characters or the plot but the romance felt secondary which wasn’t the purpose of this story. Felt just sort of meh, not great not bad.

Savage Lover by Sophie Lark is the third book in the Brutal Birthright series but it can be read as a standalone. It is a mafia romance that follows Nero and Camille. Nero is part of the Italian mafia and is not interested in settling down. Camille is just living day by day working in her father's auto shop. Their paths do not cross much until Camille is forced to go undercover for a cop and integrate into Nero's crowd. When Nero finds Camille at every turn he finds that he can't keep her out of his head especially when she is not what he expected.
Just like the others in the series, this book is such a fun time! It was very fast-paced because we had drama and action with the mafia, rivals, and the police. I found myself very invested in how the plot was going to play out and it was so much fun. I also liked the dynamic between Nero and Camille. Nero is used to every girl throwing themselves at him and Camille is not that way. She realizes that Nero is not at all what she thought and they have a lot in common. I enjoyed seeing them bonding over cars too. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a fast-paced fun and spicy mafia romance!

A huge thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for giving me a chance to read Savage Lover by Sophie Lark in exchange for my honest review.

Sophie Lark delivers yet again with a great story, full of sparks and tension between Nero and Camille, as the stakes are raised once again but this time outside of the usual family business of the Gallos and the Griffins but nonetheless intense and having you grab the book and don't let go until you've finished it.
A story full of cars, bank heists, passions and danger Savage Lover is here to deliver the way only Sophie Lark knows how. You will find yoursef falling for the bad boy attitude Nero exudes just like Camille and you'll just love Camille and her badass attitude and their story will have you want more and more.

this book was the first mafia romance i had ever read and i have to say, i’ll definitely be reading more. i thoroughly enjoyed this one and found that even without the romance, the plot and characters were super interesting! i also don’t read a ton of romance anymore but this may have just switched that for me and got me back on it because i really enjoyed it!🤭

rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars)

if you’re looking for a romance with diverse characters, intrigue, plot, good girl/bad boy and interesting family dynamics, then this is the book for you! the only reason it doesn’t get the full five stars for me is that i actually would have loved for it to be longer so that we could really deep dive into some of the plot points!💫

have you read this book? let me know down below! this book is actually out and available to read now if you’d like to check it out!🤎

The angst in this one was fab!! The complexity of the characters were fabulous and I loved reading about the bad boys. The spicy parts were what I was looking for and man I am glad I have more of these books. Because this one was wild, crazy, and just what I was looking for.

For a book that focuses so heavily on a relationship between two characters, the relationship between Camille and Nero felt very underdeveloped. The plot was engaging, but the characters were very immature and this didn't live up to the standards I have come to expect from Sophie Lark.
