Savage Lover is the third book in the Brutal Birthright series, and I couldn't tell you which book has been my favourite. I knew I would love Nero since the moment he was first introduced, and I loved the dynamics between him and Camille. I'm looking forward to the next book.
This was a very quick and somewhat disappointing read. I've seen Sophie Lark's books all over TikTok and B&N. so when I saw this in NetGallery, I knew I had to give it a shot. Maybe this was the wrong one to start with?..I didn't know what to expect since all I knew about these books was the author's name. I expected something more. Not that it was terrible, just nothing extraordinary to make me understand why these have the traction they do.
Sophie comes with the plot and the heat, every single time. Nero is my favorite character thus far. I tore through this series. 10/10
I am not a race car person. I don't care about cars at all actually. BUT this gave me fast and the furious vibes and I love those movies. I haven't read any of the others in this series but I absolutely am now. Nero was a top tier MMC and I'm here for it.
So obsessed!
Savage lover is the third book of this series and I loved it!
I personally wasn’t a fan of brutal prince but I really did enjoy this one!
I loved the two main characters, along with their chemistry and tension!
I cannot wait to see what else this series brings!
Thank you Netgalley amd Bloom Books for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
Savage Lover is the third book of the Brutal Birthright series. I haven’t read Brutal Prince yet, but I’ve read Stolen Heir and this is far better in my opinion. Nero and Camille are just superior in everything. Their story doesn’t begin with constriction but it all develops naturally.
I also liked that, still it being a mafia romance, it was 90% romance and 10% mafia. That’s probably why I liked it better.
Bonus points for the bonus scene at the end. I don’t know if the other edition had it, but if not, that is a great addiction.
I devoured this book in maybe 7 hours total? Nothing was forced and the pages flew by. Can’t wait to read the others in the series. 4,25⭐️
It was a bit slower on the romance side than I expected but still enjoyed this one very much. Sophie Lark is such a comfort romance read for me. It got a little out of my element but enjoyed the writing a lot
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first Sophie Lark book, but I’ve always heard nothing but great things about her stories and Savage Lover is no exception.
A story of two characters who believe they are unloveable, finding love with each other. I was rooting for them from the beginning. Camille is so relatable. She’s someone who has had to work hard to have what she wants, she is not the most beautiful or the most rich, but her heart is so big. Nero is one of those tough guys who gives zero Fs, but Camille is able to touch her heart unlike anyone else. Their love story was one of my favorites.
I will say that I don’t get big mafia vibes as intended, but that’s okay because the overall story was good. I almost wish we could have more of their story.
Nero and Camille’s story kept me engaged and anticipating the next move. I liked the detail in the description. I could easily imagine the characters and their actions without constant eye rolls. So far, this is my favorite of the series and I’d recommend.
I adored reading about Camille and Nero. I absolutely love that Camille isn't the typical girly girl type. It's refreshing having that sort of change but still seeing her happy and getting the guy.
It took a while to get into the story at first. The beginning seemed a little repetitive and slow but once it picked up I couldn’t put the book down. I loved Camille and Nero’s dynamic I just didn’t feel there was enough relationship building between them for me to feel they had as deep of a connection as it seemed it they did.
The personalities of the FMC and MMC were so good. I aspire to be the FMC when I grow up. Camille is a strong independent female who is unapologetically herself. Nero’s character development throughout the book was phenomenal. These two have my whole heart and I adore them!
I really enjoyed the plot of the story. I feel so many mafia romances all follow a very similar plot but this one was incredibly unique and action packed. I loved reading about the two main characters working together to try to pull off an unlikely heist. There were also so many amazing subplots throughout the book as well. I 100% recommend!
I can see how this would be easy for some to get into and read, and from the blurb I thought I would enjoy it, but I didn’t feel that spark of connection with the characters that I like to have. Sophie is a good writer, I just don’t feel like this story was for me.
Just not for me. The story was okay but I had a hard time feeling invested in the story. For those that are a fan of this author and series I think they will like it.
Camille and Nero's paths never crossed in high school. But now, they are thrown together in a wild adventure with fast cars, crooked cops, and one crazy heist.
There are some things that Sophie Lark just does really well, and they are extremely prevalent in this edition of the Brutal Birthright series. The story is well thought out and just works. The love story really sucked me in. I've never felt two characters were so suited for each other! Camille is a firecracker and incredibly herself. She loves her family and will do everything for them. Nero is the same way but just quieter about it. I adored Nero. He's the quiet guy who has so much depth to him, you just have to uncover it.
In true Lark style, the spice is on point. I actually liked it even better in this one that the rest of the series.
All in all, a really good action packed read!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the gifted copy. My reviews are always honest.
Fast and Furious meets Mafia bank heist. Absolutely adore the characters, their relationships and the fluff. Sophie Lark always comes through with top tier spice and stories that are impossible to put down. Another wonderful addition to the Brutal Birthright series.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this eARC of Savage Lover.
I have to say that I really adored this book. I loved the relationship dynamics between Camille and Nero. And I can't wait to see what happens next. I really love Sophie's writing.
The story didn’t grip me, and it went pretty deep into the auto shop, but it was easy enough to read and follow. I can see it being an easy three stars “liked it” with the target audience. I stopped after chapter 1 (7%).
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC.
I absolutely loved Nero and Camille! I love books where the FMC isn’t necessarily the popular girl who had everyone chasing them. This is the third book in this series and I’ve loved every single book so far! The illustrations really make it even better so you can get a picture in your head of what the characters look like.
Cannot wait to read the last 3 books in the series and see more of the Griffins and the Gallos.
4.75 ⭐ Camile and Nero! Nero does not give one hoot how people see him. And Camile really at times wish people wouldn't see her at all. Camile has her insecurities and Nero is...a wee bit unhinged. But together they see beyond the exterior to the depth of the soul...yes, give me all of that. There's a lot of car stuff in this and as a car "girlie" I loved that. I really and truly can't get enough of Sophie's writing and her characters are so fleshed out..yes. Yes to Gallo supremacy FL.
An interesting new addition to the series.
I found the romance to be lacking, although I think the writing was great. I enjoyed these characters, but didn't feel as connected to them as I wanted. I haven't read all of Sophie's books, but this was one okay, and I hope to pick up more by this author.
The cover and title are very intriguing!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the e-arc!
