Sophie Lark is an incredible indie turned trad author who writes intense romance that really grips a reader. This duet is incredible and I can see it doing well with new adults.

I really just could not finish this. This dragged on and on and I felt like there was never going to be a resolution or an end. Mara’s history was fine, but dude this was not it.

Love love loooove This duet! Slightly unhinged, max entertaining. Sophie lark is a genius. Absolutely love her writing style. The serial killer trope is my favourite. 100% recommend

I am a little torn about this book. Even though I loved the character growth and the way everything ended I really feel like the Duet could have been just one book instead of two. However I couldn't stop reading and I loved this series a lot

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. As the second book in the series, I enjoyed this as much as the first. Mara was nicely built, lots of character development, Cole as well. It was a fast read. Thanks.

There Is No Devil by Sophie Lark is book 2 of the Sinners duet. Obviously, you should read book 1 first before this book. I also want to note, I love this author and will read anything she writes! Are these characters crazy? Yes! Do I absolutely love them for it? YES! The steam and chemistry is there and this book gave a little more back story on the characters which only made me love them more.

SO chaotic and crazy but SO good, heck that's what made it so good! As with book 1, I could not put this book down. From the minute it dropped on my kindle, my eyes were glued to the page. Watching Cole and Mara go from dancing around each other to working in concert and growing together is a thing of beauty. But, its not all rainbows and orgasms. There is a very real threat from Shaw and its one that Mara doesn't want to acknowledge at the level it needs to be. Cole knows they are against the clock and getting Mara on board to do it "his way". Will take some convincing. Sophie Lark's writing truly shines in this duet and the way she is able to make me feel for this psycho serial killer and his artist lover is absolutely stunning.

Ohh I loved the conclusion of the Sinners Duet. It was amazing. I loved to see their relationship develop further.

This was a twisted follow up to book one and I need more!! I am glad I have more books by this author because I think she's an auto buy for me now. This was great!

After reading the first book of the duet this book felt a little more like a dark romance book whereas the first one (at least for me) was just crazy. It was nice to see the development of the relationship of our two protagonist and see the story come to a satisfying end. I especially liked the songs that were mentioned in the book, so you could listen to them while reading and be even more immersed into the story.

What in the teenage fan fiction was that? Her friend is horribly murdered and she makes only a cursory effort to blame Shaw with zero evidence which only makes her sound crazy and dumb. Then the next day it is like it never happened. She has moved in with Cole, is drinking lattes and having a whole pretty woman moment shopping where Cole spends an insane amount of money and then he later teaches her to drive.

20% in and absolutely nothing of substance has happened. I was bored by the first book but at least something was happening.

I have really liked Sophie’s writing in the past but this duet just wasn’t for me.

This book was good but it could have been a lot shorter. There really wasn't all that much that happened if I'm being honest. I did like the way everything came to an end though.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

So, I finished the duet, and it was an experience.

Here the author continues Mara and Cole's story, but this book is all about Mara realizing she’s just as unhinged as Cole, and I think that’s growth, but most of the book was just a buildup to the ending. The author could have added 100 pages to the book, and it would have been the same.

The rest of this book is Mara and Cole together as they go through Mara's past trauma. While I appreciated understanding Mara and what she went through, this book lost the spark that book one had. It was supposed to be twisted, but instead it just turned Cole somewhat normal, or as normal as a serial killer can be.

This was supposed to be a dark romance, a story about serial killers, but Mara was slowly turning Cole normal, one small step at a time. The narrative changed, and I was not expecting that.

I still like Sophie's writing, that's a fact. I will be picking up her books again at some point.

I am a fan of Sophie Lark’s, but this book was just a little too dark for me! I’m sure fake romance lovers will enjoy this one! Thanks for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Won’t be reading this due to my dislike of the first book in the series. Sophie Lark isn’t the author for me. I know so many others who would love this!

"There Is No Devil" is the intense and final installment of Sophie Lark's Sinners Duet, a series that has woven a complex tapestry of love, danger, and the darker aspects of human nature. In this sequel, we follow the entwined lives of Cole and Mara, two characters who find themselves in a dance with destiny that is as harrowing as it is beautiful.

Cole, a man whose hands are as skilled with sculpting as they are with killing, discovers an unprecedented depth of emotion. Mara, his counterpart, is a blossoming artist who has managed to shake the trauma of her past to chase success. Together, they find a semblance of happiness, a sentiment neither has truly known before, painting a poignant picture of two souls intertwined amidst chaos.

Yet, the narrative does not shy away from the specter of the past, personified by Alastor Shaw, known as the Beast of the Bay. Shaw's vendetta against Cole is deeply personal and intricately linked with Cole's own dark history. The revelation that Shaw is connected to Cole's past killings adds a layer of suspense and urgency to the story, making it clear that the sins of the past are never far behind, casting a long and dangerous shadow over their present happiness.

Mara, once a target herself, becomes a pawn in Shaw's malicious game, testing the limits of Cole's newfound capacity for love and protectiveness. The evolution of Mara's character is particularly noteworthy; from a potential victim to a woman who might just be strong enough to stand against the darkness that threatens her. This progression is a testament to Lark's ability to create characters who are not only intelligent and powerful but also deeply flawed and human.

Sophie Lark's writing is characterized by its ability to draw readers into a world where the lines between right and wrong are blurred, where love can be both salvation and damnation. The novel wraps up Cole and Mara's tumultuous romance in ways that are unexpected and twisted, ensuring that the journey is as thought-provoking as it is thrilling.

"There Is No Devil" is a masterful blend of romance and suspense, a dark and intricate story that explores the depths of love and the lengths to which one will go to protect it. The narrative invites readers to delve into the psychological complexities of its characters, challenging them to understand the darkness that lies within and the light that can emerge from it. For those captivated by stories that navigate the treacherous waters of human emotions and the intricacies of a life led in the shadows, Sophie Lark's novel is a compelling and unforgettable read.

After finishing the crazy, spicy, action-packed first book I knew I had to immediately jump into the second book. I couldn't get enough of the two main characters and since the first book left on a bit of a cliffhanger with Shaw, I had to know what was going to happen next.

While this book wasn't as good as the first one, which I gave 5 stars, but if I'm looking at it as its own individual book, it was still pretty freaking good. The character development in this book was done perfectly and I loved being inside Cole's delusional mind more. Sophie Lark is a master at writing twisted, dark characters that you can't help but love because they're so protective of what's theirs.

I will say the action scenes in this book were a lot more intense than the first book. I was literally holding my breath at times in anticipation of what was going to happen next. I love how Mara was portrayed as this weak, meek girl in the first book and then makes a complete flip to total badass in the second book. Perfect redemption story in my opinion.

And of course the main thing that everyone wants to know is the spice. Trust me, there's plenty of spice in this one just like the first one. Dirty, twisted, dark, spice but what else can we expect and what more could we really want?

Thank you so much to Bloom Books and Sophie Lark for sending me a copy to review!
