Atlas James has lost her way .She is trying to put her life back together by working on a community service program rehabbing trails in the Western Sierras.
Story deals with grief, as well anger, sadness, depression, and the journey of finding oneself
Story got my attention; as a high school guidance counselor I know many teens experience this, I like to read Young Adult stories as I often recommend them to my students.
I am a big audiobook fan and have listened to many early stories that the narrator is a digital voice galley. I am usually surprised as to how good the digital voice portraits the characters; however, that did not happen in this story. The digital voice took away from the story. I suggest reading this story. Although I am sure the professional audiobook narrator will do a good job in performing Atlas.
Want to thank NetGalley and Harper Audio – Harper Teen for this advanced Audio Edition. This Voice Galley was created only for early review use and does not reflect the audiobook, which will be voiced by a human narrator. Publishing Release Date scheduled for January 9, 2024.

This book captured my attention and I fell in love with Atlas, the main character. Atlas is dealing with her dads death and is consumed by grief. She joins a summer wilderness program where she hikes and repairs a trail, the trail her dad had on his list to hike before he died but never did. During her journey she is separated from all comforts and forced to live in the moment with a small group of new friends. During her journey she begins to find some healing and new friends and she falls in love. The love story is complicated and goes back and forth in the perfect way. Readers will want to know what happens and be involved in her romantic journey as well as her journey with her grief.

I kept switching between the audiobook and the ebook, and it was great!
The Atlas of Us took me on a rollercoaster of emotions! Atlas James might have lost her way, but she found an adventure of a lifetime while rehabbing trails as "Maps" in the Western Sierras, surrounded by her quirky team – Books, Sugar, Junior, and King. Talk about a trailblazing journey with a crew that's unforgettable!
This felt like a Taylor Swift song in the form of a novel! I devoured it in one sitting – it was like a compass guiding me through laughter, love, and life lessons. If you're looking for a captivating read that will leave you wanting to explore the wilderness and your heart, this is it! Five stars, without a doubt! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
PS: I made a book aesthetic reel for The Atlas of Us, and you can find it on both my Bookstagram and my Booktok!

Thanks to NetGalley and HarperTeen for an advanced audiobook!
Atlas is getting over the loss of her dad to cancer, and she feels lost. Included on her dad's list of things to do before he died was hiking the Western Sierras with Atlas, and Atlas feels a drive to help his last hopes come true. She decides to participate in a community service project along the trails of the Western Sierras, and along the way, she discovers new friends, love, and herself.
This was a fun read! I love the setting on the trails of the Western Sierra mountains. I enjoyed the story, though I didn't like all the swearing. If you're looking for a YA with flawed characters and romance, this is a great fit for you.
