This was a very cute start to what will probably be a very cute series. I liked the bond between our two protagonists, and the storyline about the lone wolves is interesting. For me, the writing was a little too repetitive, but I think this is exactly the kind of book that would make a great starting point for anyone just getting into wolf books.

A great start to the Lone Wolf Legacy series! I really enjoyed NJ Walters take on werewolves, the lone wolf especially. I’d heard the term before but I’d never read actually read a book with one until Taming the White Wolf. Devlin’s character was well done and I’m excited to learn more about him and the other two lone wolves as the series goes. Zoe was so strong and fierce and for the most part dealt with being drawn into a world with mages and werewolves like a champ. I loved getting to see these two loners fall for each other. The only thing that got to me was the denial/back and forth from Devlin. I understand that he had to be cautious and trusting was hard for him, I just thought it got to be a little much at times. Because it was clear he cared about Zoe from the start.

If you love paranormal romance I’d suggest giving Taming the White Wolf a read! It’s a fast paced story with plenty of action, romance and a bit of mystery.

TAMING THE WHITE WOLF by N.J. Walters is the first of what has all the earmarks of being an amazing series. The premise is a bit different as the focus is on lone wolf enforcers.

Mystical, paranormal romance…

A new series by NJ Walters! * Insert happy dance here * Wolf shifters are back with all the alpha males and strong heroine I can handle. As a bonus, this story had elements of magic/fantasy – more so than usual – and I loved that added mystical vibe…

Devlin and Zoe were evenly matched as they seemed to be fated to face their shared enemy together. How could a legendary, aloof wolf shifter hope to convince a non-believer that there was shifters let alone danger coming her way? Was their meeting just a coincidence or something more? Something sinister? Resolved to find out, they relied on each other, fighting and embracing the chemistry that sparked between them. So much mystery surrounded their adventure and added even more twistiness to the action-packed pages.

Along with the buildup of their own relationship, there were the other ‘special’ wolves – Black and Grey – adding another layer to the story. Nothing like cranky wolves to add a bit of spice and hope for future stories.

Can’t wait for more!

Lone Wolf finds his Match

Devlin is a lone wolf tasked with the inherent duty of hunting and eliminating rogue wolves. This duty is meant to be solitary, but that changes unexpectedly with some twists added to the story. Another unforeseen occurrence is Devlin being drawn to a human woman with the same rare eyes as his own. He can’t help the protective instincts he has for Zoe and can’t fight the draw he has towards her either. This is not how it’s supposed to be, but fate cannot be denied.

Zoe didn’t believe in the paranormal but when werewolves shift right in front of you, that’s hard to explain away. Thrust into this paranormal world filled with dangers, she has to rely on a werewolf shifter to keep her safe.

I really enjoyed Taming the White Wolf by N.J. Walters. This paranormal sci-fi romance had a different spin on it than the usual books in this genre with some great world building. The characters were interesting and their journey was entertaining to read as it unfolded. Not to mention steamy and romantic as well. It will be interesting to see where the author takes this series next and I look forward to reading more books.

I received an advanced review copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the first book in a brand new series-The Lone Wolf series. The lone wolf answers to no alpha or pack. From his first transformation, he knows his to be both judge and executioner for rogue werewolves. Welcome to the spellbinding first book in New York Times bestselling author N.J. Walters intense new werewolf series. White wolf Devlin Moore has spent nearly the last century following his hunting rogue werewolves. His fate is to be the only one of his kind—hardened, feared, and brutally ruthless. Only now, Devlin’s not alone. There are two others . And if that wasn’t unsettling enough, Devlin is drawn to New York City for what appears to be a human… As far as Devlin can tell, vibrant artist Zoe Galvani is no threat. But there’s something about her— from her unusual eyes that look similar to the same shocking hue as his own, to his growing need to mark her as his that suggests magical forces may be at play. Now there’s no escaping each other, or the attraction that grows stronger by the second. But no one, especially a human woman, should have this effect on a lone wolf. And just when he’s sure that having her could be his undoing…the truth steps out of the shadows.

I really enjoyed this book. The beginning starts off slightly slow for me, which is the only reason that I knocked it down to 4 stars. Devlin is a man (and wolf) that has been alone for so long that he doesn't even realize how truly lonely he is. Not until he meets Zoe. And then everything for him changes. I loved how even though these two are two different species, they are more alike than anyone could have seen. And because they can understand each other and how their pasts shaped them, it made them perfect for each other. Once you get past the slower beginning, you will be hooked. And definitely want to know more about how the main antagonist comes to be. I can't wait for the next story and to learn more about the other lone wolves!

I love this new series! It’s such a good premise: a power-hungry wolf and a mage trying to steal immortality. One of three lone wolves thrust into a situation they never thought they’d be in: not being alone any longer.
I loved every minute and I can’t wait for the black and gray wolves’ stories.
5 stars!!

This is a great author who has written some great series. I know this trilogy will shape up to be no different. However it's the first book in a new series so it does take some patience to get through some parts. I found not a lot of talking happening but so many descriptions of every scene and thought for both characters.
I look forward to the next book with, I'm assuming, Kade.

This is Zoe and Devlin’s story. The beginning of a new series and you won’t be disappointed. Devlin has been wandering the world centuries taking care of business. But always alone, until one day he snatches a young woman before she walks out in front of a car! Can’t wait for the next one!

Rating: 4.5/5
I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

This was my first N.J. Walter's book, and it will not be my last, I have seen her other books all over the place when looking into paranormal romance, but I never took a chance on one and now I will be reading more.

I am a sucker for paranormal romances with wolves in them and this one did not disappoint at all. The plot was just what I wanted in paranormal romance, it had action, romance, drama and of course “she is mine”. I thought the lone wolf was something new, I know other authors might have written something like this, but this was my first one and I loved the plot, and I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring. The characters are what really did it for me though.

Devlin, oh I just want to wrap you up in my arms and hug you so tight and not let go. Devlin is a lone wolf, who is used to being alone. He doesn’t know how to handle feelings or to understand how a lone wolf can have feelings for someone else, when he was told his whole life that he cannot have relationships with anyone because of his job. Oh yeah and being a lone wolf means that he hunts and kills rouge wolves. I enjoyed getting to see his character development through the book and to see that he did indeed have a different side to him, I loved watching him take care of Zoe and making sure that she was okay and not worried or scared. I just loved Devlin. Zoe was a great MFC, she is strong but at the same time insecure about things. I liked that she was not right away trusting Devlin but made him prove to her over time that he was not there to hurt her or anything. I loved that she was okay with the idea that magic is real and that things are not what they seem. I like that they both helped each other heal from their past trauma. I thought Zoe was easy to relate to, I know that I have talked out loud to myself a few times, so it was nice seeing a character that I could relate to too. However, I enjoyed seeing the danger come closer and closer and watching them both learn if they could trust each other.

I really cannot wait to read the next books, as well as going back to read her other books. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal romances, with great characters, action and of course fated mates.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled for the opportunity to review this book.

Taming the White Wolf
N.J. Walters
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Devlin Moore the White Wolf has spent nearly the last century hunting down rogue werewolves as he is both judge, jury, and executioner for them. There is only one white wolf. He is ruthless and thus feared by other wolves. Only now, he's no longer alone. There are two other wolves. He has been drawn to New York City for what appears to be a human of all things. From what Devlin can tell this human Zoe Galvani is no threat to him. But there is something about her. She has unusual eyes that look just like his own shocking hue. He also has a growing need to mark her as his own which is odd as well. This suggests that magical forces must be at play. Now there is no escaping each other, or their growing attraction which seems to be getting stronger and stronger by the minute. The thing is no one and especially a human woman, should have this effect on a lone wolf. Thats when the truth comes out and it's not pretty.

Wow just wow. N. J. Walters is the queen of paranormal. I devoured this fantastic book as if it were my last meal. This couple was phenomenal together. Devlin is the strong wolf who can take and give, but Zoe now she was the perfect human match for him. Everytime you thought it couldn't get any better it did. If you enjoy paranormal books, then this one is a must read. I can't wait to see what Ms. Walters has for us next.

I love shifters/werewolves and I really like NJ Walters, but unfortunately, this book was not my favorite. This was a different take on the fated mates trope with there being an instant attraction and connection between Zoe and Devlin. There is a lot of action as Devlin and Zoe are hunted but that also means there is a rotation of action/fighting, denying emotions/connection, sexy times, and repeat. The usual NJ Walters banter between characters was not there for me in this one.

Devlin is a lone wolf who lives outside pack laws. He hunts down and kills rogues, he trusts no one.
That was until Zoe Galvani stumbled into his arms, a human with a connection to him that he can't explain.
The two are quickly thrust into a world of danger and magic and must work together to survive.

Devlin and Zoe are drawn to each other but neither is sure if it is a mate bond or magic.
The white wolf believes she is his and Dev is beginning to agree.
Now he must keep Zoe safe while he uncovers the truth about her.
The problem is both must learn to trust each other and work together, which is proving to be very difficult at times.

This was full of action, suspense, and some high-heat romance. Devlin and Zoe were both strong and independent characters, and their chemistry is undeniable.
The world-building was well-done, and Walters did a solid job of creating a sense of mystery and intrigue.

** spoiler alert ** Taming the white wolf is the first book in a paranormal series by N.J Walters. In this book is the lore of the white wolf. However in this story, there are 3 lone wolves instead of one.

Devlin is a lone wolf who hunts rogue wolves when they break pack laws. He is also immortal. His inner voice sends him to new York to hunt down a rogue. While there he meets Zoe, well he saves her from getting hit by a car. He starts to feel things for her, which is unexpected because he's a lonewolf.

Eventually he contacts the other two lone wolves and finds out that there is a mage working with wolves trying to get his immortality. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the next one. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

I received this book for free in exchange for a review from netgalley and all opinions are my own.

Taming the White Wolf was my first book by this author but it won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the creation myth and the world. There was action, adventure, steam with an awesome premise and great characters. I enjoyed Devlin and Zoe's journey and I'm definitely looking forward to more, to exploring more of this world and reading more by this author. I definitely recommend to paranormal romance readers.

Taming the White Wolf is a wickedly tantalizing edge of your seat thrilling adventure. With never a dull moment in sight, we are graced with slowly peeling away the many layers of our dangerous hero. Just when we think we know what is happening, we find ourselves thrust into a dark and deadly world of the unimaginable and unforgivable. You will never be the same but neither will the new world you now inhabit.

Zoe has finally made it. She has a place she calls her own, a job she enjoy and is good at, and a friend she enjoys spending time with. What could be better? Devlin has completed one job just in time to begin another. However there is nothing typical about this one. In fact, he knows that something isn't right, but he can't stop the momentum of events. All he can do it hold on to what he knows he must do and pray for a good ending. All the while he doesn't know what to make of Zoe. Is she truly as innocent as she seems, or is she just a really good actress who will be the means of his final destruction?

Zoe is just as lonely and lost as Deviln is which makes anything between them twice as difficult to start as normal. With both desperate to believe the other, trust is an illusive gift they just don't give to people. Watching these two hope and try and wish literally shredded my heart. It speaks to how we all long to be able to trust another enough to give them our heart and risk being torn to shreds. The only thing in turn we hope for is unconditional love and acceptance. It may seem like such a small thing, but in reality it's everything.

N. J. Walters is truly a genius of the paranormal world. She has written such life changing fiction that has transformed my heart over and over again. She never fails to create such comelling and extraordinary characters who capture my attention and leave me in awe of their beauty and heart. Nothing is ever what it seems in her many worlds. Instead always expect the unexpected and don't balk when the incomprehensible beast is nothing more then a man in pain looking for love and acceptance.

Devlin is a White Wolf. His job is to police the werewolf society. It’s a thankless and lonely job. He is the only Lone Wolf that will do this job until his death (then another will be appointed and then the legend will go on) but Devlin isn’t the only Lone Wolf! There is also a Grey and a Black wolf out there! Devlin has never met them, doesn’t even know their names! But he’s aware of them and tracks where they are when possible!

Zoe is a whizz on the laptop, her hours and her time is to do with as she pleases. Being her own boss affords Zoe the luxury of being late/absent minded and working on her own. Was this the cause of being in the foster care system? Is this why she had no real friends ? (The one true friend is a total user in my opinion) Even so Zoe tries not to be too down on herself and her life!

Being saved by a handsome stranger (she almost got run over by a car) is ok, it’s great in fact…. Being stalked by said stranger and almost kissed is probably not so great. Being stalked as she walks home, definitely not great! But she didn’t really feel unsafe with him! Poor Zoe, she thinks she’s going a little crazy!!
And then when Devlin’s world crashes into Zoe’s world, all bets are off! She’s gone crazy… how in the world can there be Shifters/Mages and Magic? It doesn’t exist, it can’t be real! Can it?

I did like that Zoe never really wimped out, damsel in distress? Nope not Zoe. She might chat to herself (who doesn’t) but she never gives up (she even manages to help Devlin once or twice)

Devlin can’t help the way he is, it’s his job to protect… But this fragile human female has him tied in knots! His inner wolf keeps shouting MINE! That doesn’t help at all! Power hungry Alpha wolves just want to make his life difficult, the Mages are after something (is it to do with the legacy?) and all Devlin can think of is how he can kiss this stubborn female again!!

I did like both of the main characters. I loved Zoe’s quirkiness, the fact she chatted to herself (something I do a lot) had me smiling. Her willingness to help other at the cost of her own safety had me cheering through the book. Like most males in books “I don’t need help” soon turns into “I need you” I like the fact he won’t listen to his inner wolf (well not at first)

I won’t lie, I was hoping we would see a dark Angel or a large surly dragon (these are characters from a previous series) but being told this was a different series, so no visits from them did take a while to sink in. But that’s not to say I don’t love this new trilogy/series. It’s a fast paced book. Full of action and adventure.

So can Devlin work out why the legacy/legend of one Lone Wolf at a time has come undone? Can Zoe really be a help? Or will she be a total hindrance? What are the Mages up to? And are Devlin and Zoe the start of something bigger?

A highly recommend read. And I’ll be grabbing the next one as soon as it’s written.

What a great new series! I love this author and was eager to see what new world we’d be stepping into here.

Devlin is a lone wolf. There is usually only one born at a time, but in this particular instance, there are three. As lone wolves, they are obviously not keen on teaming up, so Devlin is still relatively alone. His primary function is hunting down rogues and that’s what leads him to Zoe’s city. He arrives and is quickly drawn to his target, who appears to have taken a liking to Zoe, a woman who strangely shares his unique eye and hair color. These two fight to continue their independent and pretty lonely existence until undeniable danger throws them into an uneasy alliance.

There is bigger magic and badness surrounding this seemingly random meeting and they both work tirelessly to untangle the web. I was completely addicted to this story from the start and I absolutely cannot wait to see where the future books take us. This can easily be read as a standalone, but be warned that you’ll be hooked!
