Taming the White Wolf is the first book in a brand new series: Lone Wolf Legacy

Devlin Moore aka the white wolf is immortal and due to his job as enforcer and hunter of rogue wolves his existence is very lonely.

Zoe Galvani a freelance graphic artist, she is also kind of a loner, she grew up in foster care and she has acquaintances but no real friends. Zoe is a strong female lead character and nothing really gets her down.

Devlin and Zoe meet when he saves her from being run over by a car. After meeting a few more times she thinks he is a stalker and after he tells her about the paranormal world she does not believe him at first.

I really liked the book, it has amazing world-building, it has action, adventure and romance, The characters are well rounded and very likable. It was a nice quick read for me. Although this was the first book i have read written by N.J. Walters I cant wait to read the next books in the series to find out more about the black and gray wolves.

I would reccomend this book to any paranormal romance fans and fans of insta love.

This ARC review I requested via NetGalley, All thoughts, comments and opinions are my own.

Devlin Moore is the white wolf. Its his role in life to put down any rogues. That makes him feared by all other wolves.

Zoe Galvani has always been alone. As an orphan brought up in Foster care.

That has made her strong and independent with a talent for knowing when something doesn't feel right.

In this steamy paranormal romance our characters hardly get time to think. The action is absolutely non stop. There is a lot of danger and confusing emotions. Battles galore and a vicious Mage with more than a tricks.

This story is obviously the first in what looks like a three book series. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can't wait to read the others.

I loved it.

I can honestly say that I did like this book. The beginning to me was a bit long and drawn out but I did end up liking it. I loved the little bit of action. I loved their meet-cute. Once I got halfway through the book I thought it got even better. There were some spicy scenes that were very hot 🥵 . I will be giving this 5 starts.

I would definitely recommend giving this book a read and a chance.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

Once upon a time, I wouldn’t have called myself a paranormal/fantasy romance fan. Then several of my go-to authors began writing in the genre, pulling me along somewhat reluctantly. But calling yourself a superfan gives you great power, and we all know that comes with great responsibility, so I did the responsible thing and began reading PNR. And something crazy happened… I found I LOVED it! Not long after, I found N. J. Walters’ Forgotten Brotherhood series, and she quickly joined the ranks of my go-to PNR authors. This brings us to the start of her all-new series, and I am officially here for them all! While this book leans a bit more heavily on world-building than I suspect subsequent books will, I urge you to hang with it because it’s all worth it in the end. There is plenty of action, suspense, and, of course, shifter romance throughout to keep you turning the pages. And the underlying mystery will most likely continue to the end of the series, so strap in, PNR fans! I have a feeling this will be a fabulous ride!

I liked this book a lot. The story was quite intriguing, and it grabbed and held my interest well. The combination of thrills, drama, tension, steam, twists, suspense and emotion had me very eager to keep those pages turning as I tried to guess what would happen next. Devlin and Zoe have chemistry that sizzles and sparks hot enough to blister and the heat they generate together is sinfully sultry. I am eager to continue reading more of this exciting new series.

Thank you for providing me with an advance reader copy.

Sadly this book was not for me. I couldn't get into the story as a result of the writing, which felt very stunted and unnatural. The same goes for the dialogue between characters, which was very cringe-worthy for me and did not come across as natural. This prevented me from immersing in the story and made it a hard time reading this book.

Moreover, I wouldn't say I liked the female main character, Zoe. She gave off very strong pick-me vibes and felt a bit mpdg. This bugged me a lot and kind of made me root against her rather than for her. I just could not get behind her and the weird things she would say out loud, which is just so unrealistic.

I'm sorry that I didn't like the writing or characters because I think the premise of the story was very intriguing and maybe if it was written differently with more likable and realistic characters I would have enjoyed this more.

I do not plan on sharing my negative review of this story on my socials out of respect for the author, and I hope she is able to find the right readership for this book.

Devlin is the famed white wolf. His purpose is to cull the rogue wolves, never staying in one place long, always alone.

Zoe is a graphic designer trying to make it in New York City. A handsome stranger saves her from being hit by a car, leading to events that bring her entire world crashing down.

Taming the White Wolf was paranormal romance perfection. There are fated mates, an evil mage, harrowing attacks, and a delicious amount of spice.

Zoe and Devlin feel that insta-attractration, but she's smart enough to be leary. Yes, he's handsome and sweet and protective, but that doesn't mean he isn't a serial killer or complete weirdo.

The two take the time to get to know each other before jumping into bed which makes their chemistry even better. I love that Zoe made him reevaluate his lone wolf existence and even got him to interact with two other wolves vital to this series.

Fans of Patricia Briggs and Kelley Armstrong will devour this story!

Favorite quote:

“You treat her as though she’s the only thing standing between you and death.”

Thank you, NetGalley and NJ Walters, for the opportunity to read this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you love werewolf fantasy, fated-mates, and insta-love tropes; then this book is right up your alley! I enjoy a good “lone wolf” story who finds a strong-willed, witty mate, and that’s exactly what you’ll get with Taming the White Wolf.

This was an easy, quick read with a slower pace in the first half to two-thirds of the story due to worldbuilding. The first in a three-book series, N.J. Walters integrates ancient werewolf lore into the modern world, creating a sinister air at the possibility of supernatural beings roaming amongst us at any given time.

I so look forward to the continuation of Devlin Moore and Zoe Galvani’s saga and cannot wait to see what happens with the additional characters in the rest of this series!

I struggled with this book. I am not a consistent werewolf reader, although I do like one every now and then. I struggled with the characters and the story. I felt like the characters were not very developed and their romance fell flat. There was not a lot of build up. They fell in love because of a bond, I think? I think the problem is that the character and their relationship are not given time to breathe. The characters spend so much time going from one attack to the next, they never get a chance to stop and talk. Even the physical part is rushed and then put on the back burner. There is not a lot of passion.

Taming the White Wolf is the first in a new paranormal romance series by N.J. Walters. I knew I was in for a treat when I was offered the book. N.J. Walters writes such immersive and unique stories with compelling characters, vivid world-building, and swoon-worthy romances! This was no exception. It’s an exciting and fast-paced story with a ton of action and suspense as Zoe and Devlin find themselves in the middle of a villainous plot. The world is really interesting, too, with shifters, magic, mages, and so much more.

Rejected by those who should love them most, Zoe and Devlin both live lonely lives. Devlin is one of three immortal wolf shifters who live solitary lives outside of the packs. He is a judge, jury, and executioner for the shifters, and he lives a solitary and lonely existence. Zoe is a human who was given up by her biological parents and raised in foster care. She has some acquaintances but no real friends or family. The first couple of times she runs into Devlin, Zoe worries he is a stalker, but she also feels strangely safe with him. They are such well-developed characters, and they’re so easy to root for.

Zoe is strong, and I love how she faces challenges head-on, even though she’s been thrust into the paranormal world and is totally out of her element. And Devlin is super protective and fierce but also so tender and thoughtful. The pair has amazing chemistry, and their romance is intense and steamy! I think it feels even more intense because of the high-stakes, deadly danger they’re put in and the fact that they’re fated mates. However, their connection is questioned when they learn that there’s a possibility magic may have influenced their bond. I’m curious to see how this concept plays out in future books in the series.

I thought this was an entertaining start to Walters’s new series, and I’m eager to read the next book, especially because it seems like there’s going to be an over-arching plot, and there are questions that need answers and villains that need catching. Plus, it will probably focus on one of the other wolf shifters, and they both sound really intriguing.

Thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Right off the bat you meet the MMC, Devlin, who gives off stormy, broody, sexy badass vibes. Throughout the book you get a deeper understanding of Devlin and get to see more of his character that just made you fall in love with him. I also really liked Zoe, she was smart, trusted her gut instinct and overall was a strong woman. Zoe was a survivor and badass through and through. She didn’t let her fear rule her and I loved it! I was rooting for her the whole time.

The author’s writing is inviting and immediately makes you interested in the storyline and what is going to happen next for Devlin and Zoe. The writing flowed and created a clear picture of each scene. It was one of those books that made me forget I was reading because I was so sucked into the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! There was constant action and high stakes. Definitely recommend if you love a strong female character and a badass sexy shifter. This is the first book of this author that I’ve read and it won’t be my last.

White lone wolf Devlin Moore is a hunter of rouge wolves. He is destined to be alone. Then he meets a human named Zoe Galvani. She has strange white eyes that match his own and a streak of white in her hair. He needs to determine if she is truly his mate or a trap set out to hurt him.

Zoe and Devlin are interesting characters. They do not know if they are attracted to each other because they are mates are because there is magic involved. They are on the run from an unknown threat. The story is full of mystery and action.

This story started out a little slow for me, but I got into it the more I read. It had some interesting twists. I am interested in reading additional books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Devlin is a lone wolf who hunts rogue werewolves who break the pack laws. He knows his destiny to be alone so he can do the job fate has given him. He's supposed to be the only one of his kind until he dies and another will take his place, but there are two others just like him. So when he meets Zoe and he feels things for her that he shouldn't feel, he knows there must be some kind of magic at work. Because there are other things out of place like two other lone wolves, these feelings he has for the human and the fact that she is a little different makes him believe other things are at work.

Devlin and Zoe talk a few times and he thinks that she might be some kind of trap to try and kill him but he's not sure how so he reaches out to one of the other lone wolves who is surprised to hear from him but I have a feeling that in the future these lone wolves will be working together because they are connected and no one else can understand what they are going through.

Devlin tries to tell Zoe that werewolves exist and she might be in danger but she thinks he's crazy and doesn't believe anything he's saying. But when danger comes looking for Zoe and finds her, it's Devlin that comes to her rescue and keeps her safe. She has no choice but to believe werewolves exist after what she sees.

I felt so bad for Devlin after hearing about his first shift and how he was treated, how alone he's been his entire life since then. It was heartbreaking. I can only imagine that it's the same for the other two lone wolves and that is just sad.

Watching these two get closer as the danger just gets worse and worse, was fun because neither one of them knew if they could trust the other. These two have a connection but they don't know where it comes from until they find out who is behind all the danger coming at them. It was fun to finally find out what and who was coming after them and why. I'm really looking forward to the next book now.

Disclosure: I received an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Devlin is the White Wolf, one of three elite werewolf warriors who police the rogues among their kind. He has been on his own for almost a century, travelling the world and removing threats. But he's another kind of anomaly because there should only ever be one Lone Wolf - so what suddenly changed to have three at the same time?

Zoe has also been alone a long time. A former foster system kid, she has acquaintances but no real friends. When she bumps into Devlin a few times, she wonders if he's some unstable stalker but weirdly he makes her feel safe. But when Devlin's paranormal world crashes into Zoe's staid, boring life, she's going to have to learn on the lam!

Mages, Magic and power hungry Alphas are messing with Devlin and Zoe's lives. They are so in sync from the start, they make a great team. Zoe may know mothing of Werewolves but she is no damsel in distress. She may be out of her element but she mucks in and isn't afraid to wade in to protect Devlin. Devlin thinks he's this big, scary, killing machine but Zoe sees beyond that façade to the lonely, caring male beneath.

They realise that they have both been manipulated by outside forces but they don't let that push them apart, if anything it makes them a tighter knit team.

I'm really looking forward to the other Lone Wolves stories now!

Taming the White Wolf by N.J. Walters is the first book in her new Lone Wolf Legacy trilogy.

For the first time in forever, Devlin Moore, the white wolf, doesn’t want to be alone. He craves Zoe Galvani but doesn’t know why.

N.J. Walters presents another complex, compelling plot. The story is well-written, and the characters are vibrant. There’s some explicit and violent content, but it’s all engaging. I wanted more from the ending, but it’s still a 4 out of 5. I definitely plan to read the other books in the series. I highly recommend Taming the White Wolf to all readers of paranormal romance and paranormal suspense.

My thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled Amara, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

I've been quite the fan of N.J. Walter's books for years and here we are with a new wolf shifter series! And let me just say, we love when it's an interconnected standalone in a series.

I love that we just dive right into things from the beginning when it comes to the MCs, which is so on par with Walter's books. These two had me cracking up with their bit of banter when they first met.

I was really intrigued with what the series arc will, there's still a little bit of mystery of it all or perhaps I need to reread those parts about the lone wolves.

I really enjoyed this one and thought it was a great start to this series. Can't wait for the next two!

Taming the White Wolf is an engaging and fast-paced story that encompasses all my favorite elements of shifter romance. The author skillfully weaves an original storyline, infusing it with drama, magic, action, and a heartwarming connection.

Taming the White Wolf by N.J. Walters is a paranormal romance that covers everything a reader may be looking for in a shifter, fated-mates novel. The story follows Devlin Moore, named the White Wolf, after becoming the enforcer and hunter of rogue wolves. By having the mark of the White Wolf, Devlin lives an immortal and extremely lonely life. Brought to New York City by instinct, Devlin encounters Zoe Galvani who shares the same distinct color eyes. Zoe is a graphic artist and designer, living in a small apartment and struggling to make connections with the outside world. Zoe is quickly thrust into Devlin’s life and both must quickly decide how to confront the individuals that are hunting them.

Walters has written an engaging, fast-paced story with all my favorite shifter romance plot points while creating an original storyline. The While Wolf has drama, magic, action, and heartwarming connection. I would have loved to have a longer build up of romance between the characters and more character development throughout the book, however, Walters does a good job for those readers who enjoy instant love. I find the world building interesting and would love to see more details of it in the next book.

Taming the White Wolf is perfect for readers who are addicted to protective main characters and sweet romance. The novel balances intimate romance, sweet connections, and suspense. I would recommend reading Taming the White Wolf to these fans.

Thank you to N.J. Walters, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was an interesting story with a new twist on the werewolf mythology. While it does have that touch of "insta-love", it also didn't feel too rushed. Devlin and Zoe are both guarded and weary about the attraction between them to start. while the story at times felt a little slow it also gave time for the two of them (and us) to learn about each other and slip around each other's shields and let the initial spark grow into love and to become a couple rather than two outsiders/loners. I'm curious to see what's to come for the other 2 lone wolves and how things develop.

As the white wolf, Devlin leads a very lonely existence. He's an immortal, the one responsible for taking out rogue wolves, and he is either feared or challenged at every turn. When Zoe, a human whose coloring is too close to his to be a coincidence, is thrust into his path, Devlin soon learns that magic is at play and life as he knows it will never be the same.

I loved how authentic these characters felt, despite the otherworldly circumstances. They knew they were manipulated by magic, but trusted their hearts and their feelings. They fought for and protected each other. The love developed quickly, but in a way that seemed organic to the high intensity of the situation that bound them together.

As part of the worldbuilding for this story, Devlin reveals that there is usually only one lone immortal wolf. However, when he was 'borne', two others joined him—one black and one grey. There seems to be some inherent mistrust between them, but I'm hoping that changes, especially as the series continues.

All I know is that I'm thankful for the happy for now ending, but eager to get my hands on the books to come.
