I really enjoyed this book. It was creepy but in a good way. This is the first book I've read by this author and I know it will not be the last. Many thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy.
William F. Gray’s *The Devil Within Us All* is a compelling psychological thriller that delves into the nature of evil and human darkness. Gray’s taut, suspenseful prose and intricate plot create a gripping narrative that challenges perceptions and keeps readers engrossed. The novel’s exploration of morality and inner demons adds depth to its riveting story.
Many thanks to the Wicked House team for the eARC of this book.
WOW what a story. I was in it from the get-go and definitely stayed up later than I should have reading this one. The perfect blend of creepy, mystery, and gorey mess. Will keep an eye out for more works from Gray for sure.
If you are looking for a deep story with hidden meaning, The Devil Within Us All is a great book to put on your TBR.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and it certainly doesn't disappoint in terms of action. The pace is relentless, gripping you from the very first page and not letting go until the last. The story is intense, with a significant amount of violence perpetrated by ordinary people who fall under the sway of a malevolent, maniacal entity. The author does an excellent job of creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere that had me on the edge of my seat and kept me up at night. The characters are well-developed, and their descent into madness is both horrifying and fascinating to witness. Overall, I would highly recommend this book to fans of horror who enjoy a thrilling, action-packed narrative.
THE DEVIL WITHIN US ALL – by William F. Gray – My Heart!
In a word, WOW! The tension and action in the clipped chapters do not let up—scenes with heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, moments—Gray has the peddle on full throttle to the very end.
I have to admit, I yelled out various expletives of shock and surprise several times throughout reading, and had to put the book down just as many for a breather.
If you’re a Stephen King fan, I think you will enjoy the H*ll out of this book! Pun, may or may not be intended. ;)

‘“The evil within people is like a snake . . . coiled inside every person’s belly. Waiting to strike. But it can be taught to answer to a master.”’
Highly Recommend!
Thank you, NetGalley and Wicked House Publishing, for providing me with an eBook of THE DEVIL WITHIN US ALL at the request of an honest review.
this was soooooo good! Exactly what you want in a book. It had me hooked from the start!! This has all the good things & the spooks
A stranger rolls into a small town.
Unspeakable acts of violence that the town has never experienced starts occurring.
Small town sheriff who may be in over his head, know that he is the only thing that stands between life and death for his residents.
This is a good blend, of horror and thriller. The author wastes no time bringing the reader through the story.
A great small town horror novel. The idea that people do things without remembering what they had done and why is really terrifying. I cannot imagine how one would feel as they finish the job but not know why there is so much chaos around them. I lived in a small town and I felt as though there was always some evil waiting in the background. The people were strange and had some rules of their own.
I don't think I have enough good things to say about this book. The Devil Within us all is one of the best books I've read this year. The way each character was affected differently by what was happening had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the way the story unfolded and became something incredible/unbelievable, yet possible. Everyone needs to read this book!
Many thanks to Netgalley ,publisher and author for providing me with advance copy♥️
“The Devil Within Us All” by William F. Gray is a thought-provoking and engaging novel that delves into the intricacies of human nature. The story follows a character’s journey as they grapple with their internal struggles, and Gray’s writing masterfully explores the complexities of human emotions.
One of the book’s greatest strengths is its ability to evoke empathy in the reader. Gray skillfully crafts relatable characters, making it easy to connect with their struggles and triumphs. The supporting characters add depth to the narrative, providing a nuanced understanding of the human experience.
The writing is captivating, with a well-paced narrative that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Gray’s command of language is impressive, with vivid descriptions that transport the reader into the story. The themes explored in the book are universal and timely, making it a thought-provoking and engaging read.
Personally, I found the book to be a powerful reminder of the internal battles we all face. It made me reflect on my own struggles and the importance of self-awareness. The book also highlights the power of redemption and the importance of seeking help when needed.
Really liked this one. It's atmosphere all the way down, and then it doesn't take long transforming atmosphere into real peril. If you like your horror cold and wild, this one is for you.
I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. The downfall was that I requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before the book was archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!
The Devil Within Us All is a pretty good book, and it is well written. It is very similar to some of Stephen King's work, which is great! William F. Gray wastes no time in getting to the meat of the story, if you will. Just like with most any story, there are characters that are likable and unlikable. If you want something that will grab your attention right off the bat, then I highly recommend reading this book!

I am leaving my review of my own volition. All opinions are my own.
This book gave me a sort of Stephen King vibe. That end I definitely did not see coming! I can't wait to read future books by William F. Gray.
What a ride!! This read hooked me from the beginning and would not let go until the very end.
A snake charmer visits a small town and releases something other-worldy across the town. Only a few are left to fight off the entity and save their hometown.
I do feel the characters lacked depth but besides that, this was quite the read. It was fast paced and got straight to the point!!
Small town horror is always fun. And this one mixes in a good dose of dark religious horror.
Several brutal scenes start off to set the pace. Definitely worth checking out.
I always find myself a bit intimidated when a book begins with a long list of characters: but as the story went on it gave me an Agatha Christie vibe as the characters begin to one by one be eliminated and changed. If you enjoy horror based in small towns, dark entities and unexpected heroes this one is for you.
This was action packed and had some interesting elements, however overall this did not work for me personally. I thought based on the title this would go a little deeper on why people do horrible things. I would recommend this people who enjoy really gore and slashers. The character view points jumped around too much for me to settle in to the story, with all the jumping around I found myself bored at times.
Horror, social remarks, southern gothic. There's a mix of elements and there a good, gritty and creepy story.
A good horror, well written and multilayered
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
