I could not stop reading this book and already recommended to everyone I know! A real psychological thriller with the main theme being gaslighting. Would read all over again!
Very good thriller! I don’t understand why it is described as a Romance Thriller though. Although predictable, it was still a good book. Naive woman and controlling dominating man get married and she can’t get out of the marriage. Tori was so naive it was frustrating at times- but the book was very well written and definitely held my attention. It just felt too similar to others I have read in the past. I definitely enjoyed the writing style of this author! Enjoyable read with periods of frustration!!! I will definitely look at her other books as I really enjoyed her writing style. Thank you to NetGalley, Wicked House Publishing and Suzanne Hoos for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
Excellent thriller that kept me guessing! I don't think I've ever read anything that's shown the intracacies of small town religion in such an interesting, albeit deadly way! I'll definitely be reading more of this author's work. Five stars!
I'm not entirely sure I'd classify this as a romantic thriller. Maybe it's been ages since I read one of those, probably by Nora Roberts, but this was definetly more of a psychological thriller. Tori, the progagonist, is gaslighted by Joshua, the handsome older man who she meets through her job at a small faith based television program, continuously. The guy shows flashes of sweetness and I genuinely wanted to like him at times, but wow is he a piece of work. This goes way beyond being a control freak and telling some white lies to make his new wife's relocation to his small town easier on them both, and her daughter. Joshua is rich, totally thinks he is in the right at all times, and is a walking red flag. I spent a ton of time wanting to yell at Tori to stop falling for his tricks and to just leave with her child already. It gets worse when she finds out she may be pregnant with his baby.
This was a ton of fun in the way that those 90's erotic thriller movies like Basic Instinct are. Sex is most certainly weaponized by both main characters and I loved it. It was full of high emotions and mysterious characters and I had a blast reading it.
Not the biggest fan of this book. The author is a good writer but just not for me. thank you netgalley for the ARC
