I could not put this book down. It was well written and had so many twists and turns, I had to keep reading. Definitely a must read for horror fans.

Jeremy Eads's *The Lodge* is a chilling horror novel that expertly builds tension with its atmospheric setting and sinister plot. Eads's skillful storytelling and unsettling imagery create a gripping experience that keeps readers on edge. The novel's eerie narrative and psychological depth make it a standout in the horror genre.
"A demon runs a bed and breakfast in southwest Virginia where sin never needs a reservation. A guilt-ridden retiree, two little boys, and a pair of meth making cousins will challenge America's most wanted black widow, a haunted southern town, and the Devil himself. The quest for salvation will lead to the darkest parts of themselves as well as the beating black heart of Summit Valley, Virginia. The Maple Lodge, a B&B where the turn down service is to die for." Will they survive this demon or whatever haunts the town? Will have to read the story to find out. Suspenseful, thrilling, wonderful book. I give this book 4 stars.
Thanks to netgalley, and the publisher for giving the opportunity to leave an honest review.

‘A demon runs a bed and breakfast in southwest Virginia where sin never needs a reservation.’
THAT. WAS. AWESOME! A bit of a long, at times heartbreaking, journey worth every horror-filled minute of it—Highly Recommend!
Love The Ending!

Good, old-fashioned horror at its best! A captivating, suspenseful, twisted and chilling delight!

I really wanted to get to this one, as it seemed interesting. The downfall was that I requested so many ARCs that I could not get to all of them before the book was archived. If I can find this somewhere for a reasonable price, I will try to get it!
Slightly entertaining but very predictable. Also a lot of gore! I Will probably not read more by the author.
A horror story featuring a deseted hotel run by an evil being. The being feeds off of the undesirable people who venture to the hotel. Odd story with graphic violence.
If you are looking for sinister and creepy horror, this book is for you! From the start you will be pulled in and this story will not let you go. Everything you need for an excellent horror story is in this book!
A quaint bed and breakfast that is run by a demon, who patrons may not stay long but also who never leave? That is the premise behind The Lodge: A Horror Novel. This book is roughly less than 250 so it is a quick read. Each patron that shows up to this bed and breakfast has some unsavory past that draws them in. Their stays are relatively short, and most are never heard from again. But no one will be coming around looking for them. This gives me Identity (the Jon Cusack film) vibes where all the patrons are there for a reason. A reason they may not know of or be willing to admit to others.
This story is very fast paced. Sometimes that is a good thing and other times, not so much. With shorter stories, authors must be on point with their character development otherwise, their readers will be left with a feeling of whiplash. For me that is how the story progressed. I was initially excited about the story and where it seemed to be heading but at some point, it fell flat for me. I found myself reading to just say that I finished it. I found it hard to connect with the key characters throughout the story. While this may not have been a book for me, it may be just what someone needs to get out of a reading slump.
This was freaky nutty and I LOVED it! It's scary, funny, and wild. Readers follow a few different story lines that tie together at Maple Lodge. It has a ton of potential but my only complaint is that the ending felt rushed to a point. Regardless, I would absolutely recommend this to friends and other readers!
I ended up not finishing this book. I have enjoyed this authors previous books, but I ended up not wanting to finish this one.
This was a fun book about a b&b run by a demon. It’s as silly as it sounds, and would probably make a better movie. You meet an assortment of characters and the story moves pretty quickly. I would recommend if you’re looking for a not-too-scary horror story.
The Lodge is a B-Rated Horror Flick on pages. It's fun, corny and mildly scary. I loved all the different story lines that led to the same place...Maple Lodge. I just wish the ending wasn't so rushed and parts of the story were actually fleshed out more. Otherwise this is a good one for Spooktober and for fans who enjoy horror that isn't too scary or gory.
I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

Welcome to The Maple Lodge, a Bed and Breakfast where the service is to die for.
In this gothic horror novel, we visit a B&B set in a haunted town in southern Virginia, not just any B&B but one that is run by a demon. We follow a colorful cast of characters from a couple of little boys, a retiree, cousins dealing in some illegal activity, an infamous black widow and the Devil himself.
The book just didn’t really click with me. The book jumped around a lot and the ending felt rushed. It had a lot of potential, but I don’t think it lived up to it.
This book is currently on KU (Kindle Unlimited) as of 9/7/23.
Thank you to Wicked House Publishing and NetGalley for this e-copy for my honest opinions.
Ughhh I tried to force myself to love this story, but alas…. I couldn’t.
I mean, the premise sounds phenomenal and original. The execution…. All over the place.
If you want to feel a little crazy and be driven a little crazy by all the different POVs, storyline, etc, then definitely give this one a go by all means.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Wicked House Publishing for a copy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Wicked House Piblishing for the opportunity to read rage and review this arc which has been available since July 28,2023!
So this was quick read. Fast paced and disturbing. The first chapter grossed me out. The rest was a unique story about a b and b in a small southwestern Virginia town run by the devil. I would recommend it to those who like this kind of horror book. Trigger warnings abound.
I really enjoyed this book. A solid, unsettling horror novel. It was a little hard for me to differentiate the different point of views, but once I got into it it got better. I gave this book a 3.75 out of 5. Would i recommend this book? Yes. Would I read this book again? Unlikely. But I would definitely read more books by this author.
I really wanted to love this book. The premise was fascinating. The action started on page one, with Aron Weaver breaking down the door of a child killer. We then head over to Shirley, a serial killer. These two characters alone were a great set up. Hannah was a nice addition, as were Caden and Logan. However, after a couple chapters of set up, the plot began to meander. Things still happened, but the pace became slow and I had trouble staying engaged. The novel couldn't quite decide what it want to be and where it wanted to go.
