Cleo Wade never disappoints me. I love the mixture of poetry and passages throughout because it helps the poems flow, but it also helps depict the authors life better. For me as a reader, this is the perfect mixture of poetry and prose.

Cleo Wade's 'Remember Love: Words for Tender Times' is a literary embrace for those navigating the complexities of life, loss, and love. As a therapist who often uses literature to guide my clients toward healing, I found this collection to be a powerful source of comfort and inspiration.

In a world where it can be challenging to remember love and goodness amid events that often seem beyond our control, Wade's words act as a gentle reminder that hope and healing are within reach. This book delves into the heart work we must do for ourselves, recognizing that periods of self-doubt, grief, and anxiety are an integral part of our journey. Wade's words are an invitation to acknowledge our vulnerability and navigate through it with grace and self-compassion.

Wade's prose explores the idea that to live is to get lost, and it is through self-love that we can find our way back to a place of steadiness and contentment. Her words are a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a beacon of light for those who may be struggling to find their way in the darkness.

'Remember Love' offers intimate, uplifting words that serve as an anchor, providing solace and reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles. The book encourages us to center our own humanity and that of others, emphasizing the importance of using whatever influence we possess to contribute kindness and goodness to the world.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the e-arc copy!

I am familiar with Cleo Wade as I follow her on Instagram. I liked how this book was a natural extension of the work she shares on social media. So many of the poems made me think about things in a new way, especially the one, "I returned the cape". Wow what a gut punch of six lines. This would make a great gift book and also I think it would be a great book to keep on your nightstand to read a bit every morning or night.

i too enjoy reading mary oliver and participating in the occasional therapy

I've loved everything Cleo Wade has ever put out into the universe and this book became available through NetGalley courtesy of the publisher at the perfect time for me. Wade's words are a warm hug that challenges you. I don't know how to describe that weird sentence other than to tell you to read the book. So much of this resonated with me. Thank you, again, Cleo.

Perfection!

We shouldn’t have to break down in order to pour into ourselves. When we recognize this, we understand the incredible value of rest and restoration. A synonym for restoration is return. The nature of being busy is to do, to expend only outward energy. It is easy to lose track of yourself in this. The nature of rest is to be. It is a return to yourself.

Remember Love: Words For Tender Times feels like a warm hug. Comfortable. Relatable. Loving. Healing. This collection of poetry and prose is a navigational path away from exhaustion, catastrophe and what can be the overwhelming response that busyness can bring. To one of healing, restoration, and radiant love. It is a call to return to love, in the midst of all else. Thank you so much to Rodale Inc. and NetGalley for this gifted copy.

Weaving back and forth from concise, clear, and very focused poetry to generous prose, the author reminds you that love is freeing and it will save you, particularly self-love. She provides so many wonderful encouraging and motivation words that are very affirming. Leading with this notion that to love ourselves is to continually reclaim ourselves. A few of my favorite poems in the collection are: "for people like me who don't know how to relax", "it's simple", and "what's held".

I highly recommend this collection! It is very well-written and oftentimes comforting. This is the first collection I've read from Cleo Wade and after finishing, I look forward to exploring more of her work.

Remember Love: Words For Tender Times releases on October 17, 2023. Don't forget to pre-order your copy.

I absolutely love Cleo Wade's work and this collection of poetry and prose did not disappoint. I found myself highlighting so many different pages in the book. There were so many inspiring words. The only downside was that the book was not long enough.

"To live is to get lost. The shimmery, magical part of this inevitability is the reunion. The power to embrace yourself time and time again. To sit in the safety of a room all your own, wrapped in a soft blanket of okay-ness, receiving your warm welcome home. You get to come home to yourself. Know that."

I love Cleo Wade. I love her words, I love the way she says things, I love how her words are always a balm on my soul and this book is no exception; it feels like being held, being kindly hugged and reading it makes me feel less alone in the world.

"We can’t have an efficiency mindset when it comes to loving others. Love is slow. It is warm , tender, patient, and surprising. It requires our time and most relaxed self. The us that can just be. The us that can listen and witness. The us that is a home and can be a home to others. A sweet shelter."

This book is filled with older and newer stories from Wade's life and some of her thoughts and learnings. If you're a regular reader of her work, it's not going to teach you anything new. It's going to remind you of things you probably knew but needed to be reminded.

"Life doesn’t fit in boxes. Life is a wild animal, or a mighty oak tree with unruly roots. We don’t tame it. We find harmony with it."

I'm deeply grateful for authors and people like Wade in this world.

with gratitude to netgalley and Rodale Inc., Harmony for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review
