Poigant and brillant. Everything was just so 'underline' worthy that I can definitely see myself rereading them. I savoured everything in only one sitting and you would too.
Thank you to the author and the publisher for this arc through netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
A very raw display of grief and the different emotions we feel while we are trying to heal. I truly appreciated how honest the author's writing was.
We all have shadows and in this collection, the author sheds a light on each shadow in the form of a letter to 'dear Nora,' and with each letter he bares it all, his misgivings, grief, addiction and trauma. It's beautifully raw and at some point I couldn't help but wonder just how much he went through, and there is a point where he's hit rock bottom and is suffocating from his pain and regret.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
I found myself underlining so much in this, I thought the writing was captivating and absolutely brilliant. Telling it in the form of letters addressed to someone who would never see them is brilliant and heartbreaking at the same time, and it evokes emotions through each one. I thought it was going to be too heavy of a read, but I feel like it dives into heavy topics without being too much; it’s just enough insight to feel and understand. I loved this so very much and would definitely read this again and recommend it to people.
This book was so emotional, it’s my first poetry book and I thought I might struggle with the concept and emotion poetry holds but this was breathtaking, I felt the emotion in every line and it even made me cry! This is an amazing book to portray, betrayal, lose and much more!
