This is a wonderful and hilarious read for the whole family. Perfect easy read and lots of fun for everyone and all are groups

🐱 Mr. Patches is a very bored cat, so he sets out on an adventure and meets lots of friends and has a ton of fun! When he gets home after his week of adventure, he is afraid he will just be bored again. But then he has an epiphany! Boredom encouraged him to seek fun!

🐁 The illustrations are top-notch. Hilarious and fun! Make sure you look at every single object on each page – especially the silly mice!

🐱 If you have a kid who is always bored, you should get this book. Maybe it will help your kiddos come up with some fun things to do themselves. At the least, maybe it will help them to self-motivate a little bit. If not, it is still a fantastic book to read just for fun!

Mr. Patches is one cool cat! He is very tired of being bored so he prepares his red wagon and sets out to spend a week having adventures. And boy does he have adventures - the fun rhyming text and the silly expeditions Mr. Patches experiences are so well defined in the bright and colorful illustrations. Bike riding, digging for treasures and a trip to the zoo fill his days as he collects memories in his wagon. When the week comes to an end he is exhausted and returns home for a bit of rest and relaxation. That's when Mr. Patches realizes the value of boredom - that without boredom he would have never know the joy of adventure and in turn appreciated the comfort of boredom! Take time to study each page and fine the cute little mice and the hilarious details that make this story so engaging. Just released this month - July 2023. Thank you to NetGalley.

This was a cute book that shows kids how to “cure” boredom via a cat named Patches. It’s was easy to follow and also helps kids learn why it’s good to be bored. A good read for kids who need a little creativity in their life. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC to review.

I can't resist stories with cats and this was adorable!
Mr. Patches has a comfortable life but he has gotten bored, and decides to go an find some adventures.
He does eventually realize that it's great to have fun, but it's also great to have a place to come home to.
The illustrations are brilliant (you can search every page for Mr. Patches' little mouse companions) and the story is told in a very well-done Dr. Seuss inspired verse form.
I think this would be great for early readers, but would also keep the attention of younger children who were having it read to them.
Make sure you take the time to appreciate the art.
Loved this, highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this story! The illustrations are bright and colorful. They really pull you in. I loved the rhyming style and the message of the book. Not to mention, this had my nephew and I cracking up! If my 6 year old nephew liked it, what more can I say?

Mr. Patches is Bored offers good rhymes and a solid cadence for reading out loud and developing the child's phonemic awareness. The art is cute and engaging and the message of boredom will resonate with most children.

This is a really cute book about Mr. Patches the cat, who is ever so bored. I loved the story and the ending - helping kids understand that being bored is okay sometimes and, honestly, part of life. I plan on adding a physical copy of this book to my classroom!!

I was happy to see that this book brought light to boredom not being such a bad thing. Its what sparks our creativity and sets us on adventures in the first place.

Mr. Patches is Bored is a cute, humorous book about a cat who is bored. He gets tired of being bored, and decides to go out on lots of fun adventures. He has a blast, and when he gets home at the end of the week, he is grateful for all the adventures he went on. He wouldn't have gone on any adventures if he hadn't been bored! If your child says they are bored a lot, this book will teach them that boredom is just an open invitation to find a new adventure!

Mr. Patches is Bored is hilarious! The beginning is all about how he is so bored doing the same things day after day. He gets bored of sitting at home and taking naps along with catching mice. He wants adventure...a little fun in his monotonous life. So, he grabs his adventure wagon and sets off, hoping to fill it with mementos of everything he did. All through this fun, rhyming book, we see what he does each day of his adventure week. One day he rides a moose while wearing a big pair of boots. On Wednesday, he decided to climb a tree. He isn't used to that, so he regrettably gets stuck. Patches goes home after that very exciting week, and boy is he happy to be home! The realization hits him...he will just be bored again now that he is home. Then another thought comes to him. He would not have gone out if he had not been bored! Being bored brought him joy, made him some friends, and made him feel liberated. Patches decides he is glad he was bored.

What a perfect book about a bored kitty named Mr. Patches. When he gets tired of being bored, he finds things to do to keep him busy. Wonderful book to teach children that you can always find something to do if you get bored.

I enjoyed this book myself. The artwork is absolutely amazing and fits the story completely.

Mr. Patches is Bored is a humorous book that keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know what happens next. Mr. Patches finds the most interesting ways to be un-bored. As soon as I finished the book, I wanted to read it again. Words and pictures pair well to create a fun book that kids will not want to put down!

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well.

I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was.

I read this with my daughter and she got so worried that the cat we had would be bored at the house when we are gone. This was an opportunity for us to tech her about fictional stories because now she doesn’t want to go to daycare and leave our cat.

Once we progressed in the story, she then was afraid that our cat left the house when we are away. Kids are wild. Telling her this story was fictional helped a little, haha.

I thought it was cute and sweet. The illustrations were too cute. I enjoyed the read.
