This has always been one of my favorite books and I have a well-worn paperback copy from my college years on my shelf, but this is a beautiful new edition of a classic with colorful illustrations throughout the text. The illustrations are bright, cheerful, uplifting colors, and I've always thought of this as a tale of transitions and the pain and adjustments that come with them, so it's interesting to see what I consider to be fairly heavy text juxtaposed with lightness.
Beautiful version of the old classic! The illustrations and colors add a lot. Definitely one to add to the collection.
I am a converted Buddhist and this is the one book I always recommend everyone who are interested in Buddhism, either as a philosophy or as a religion. It approaches the subject of karma and enlightenment perfectly slow for those who are not familiar with it. This book offers wisdom.
It's a story about an ordinary man with ordinary struggles who rises up to the wisdom. This book will not be deep and heart robbing, because it is not a story of a god. It's just a story about a man. I feel like reading it for the second time I definitely got more out of it than on the first time.
I've learned and related of the way of life and emotions of human.
The coming-of-age tale Siddhartha by Herman Hesse is well-known by generations of readers and seekers. In young Siddhartha’s journey from despair and uncertainty to enlightenment, many individuals have found answers to their own search for meaning in their lives.
This gorgeous new hardcover edition (published September 19, 2023) adds intricate artwork that complements the lyrical style of Hesse’s writing. If you are a fan of the book, this is a wonderful choice to add to your collection or present as a special gift.
How wonderful to revive a new edition of a classic I have long wanted to read. A great narrative bout the life of the figure who became the Buddha and the foundational figure of one of the world’s important religious faiths. A good read
This is a beautiful book that looks really great as well as telling its story. I loved the layout of it and it felt sumptuous in its design. The typography on the page was well thought out which made it an easy read.
This is a lovely illuminated version of the classic Siddhartha. It maintains the same tale and lessons but in a beautifully depicted version.
First, this edition of Siddhartha is absolutely beautiful. From the end papers to the color details on the pages, and the beautiful chapter headings. Second, I really love this story. I think stories like Siddhartha are so important. This story encompass so many aspects of the human experience in a quest/journey style story and you can truly feel Siddhartha's growth and development as a person. I think that this story is a beautiful way to recenter what truly matters in life and there are a lot of take aways from this book. I think Hermann Hesse's writing style is thought provoking and so intentional. Absolutely love this book!
I cant believe i have already read this years ago but forgot to write a review! So, when i seen that a new illustratied version was due to be released i took the opportunity to check it out.
The story itself by this author is one of my favourites. This is where i first fell in love with Hesse's work. This is the story of Siddhartha and his journey to learn about the ways of the Buddha, self discovery and enlightenment. It is a true classic. Even years later re reading this i still have the same love for this. We follow the young Brahmin on his journey through lifes trials and tribulations. The message is insightful and a great learning experience to analyse our own lifes journey.
This new colourful addition is very eye catching. Each page has a little bit of beauty within. This complements the story very well and it is a great way to re introduce an award winning story.
I could not find the addition on goodreads yet to add my review to but many thanks to Quarto publishing group, Wellfleet Press and Netgalley for an ARC on this new addition.

Deeply philosophical with life lessons that should be quietly reflected on. This was not really for me but still good to read.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
The book is captivating, from the first to the last word, and although I read it on my ipad, the illustrations added to the sensation of reading it.
The author follows the life of Siddhartha, the son of a Brahmin and in particular his inner evolution through his encounter with different characters, towards spiritual purity and inner peace.
Its the first book by Hermann Hesse that I have read and I will definitely look out for his others.
I can't say anything more than Beautiful, just beautiful.

The oneness, living many lives, rebirth, I loved reading about all of it. I too feel I have lived and died over and over, showing it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, seeing yourself as an extension of the world around you instead of the main character. We are a part of this world for such a brief time, live as though you know you can do anything with that knowledge.
Pros: I don't think the text of this modern classic needs a review, so instead I will focus on this beautiful new edition. I have loved seeing classics reprinted in different collections, so I hope this is the first of many in a collection. The illustrations on each page of this book are vibrant, and I think any book lover will want this on their shelves . . . and will want more books just like it! This book will pop on bookstagram!
Cons: None except I think readers will want more books printed like this one!
This is a gorgeously rendered edition of the classic tale by Hermann Hesse, a story everyone should read at least once as they, like the titular character, grow and search for meaning in life.
The full-color designs and illustrations are provided by Evelin Kasikov and add to the enjoyment of revisiting this story.
Thank you Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.
