This story was certainly an enjoyable read. The primary love story is painfully beautiful, and incredibly realistic and is an interesting take on the forced proximity/one bed trope.

Ella is a unique FMC. She wasn't born into fame, but learned later in life that she did, in fact, hail from celebrity. But, after spending a few years as a successful actress, she decides to pursue a life away from the glitz and the glam. She's certainly not a stranger to heartbreak and loss, so it's only natural that she's wary of love.

Enter Callum, one of the most complicated MMCs you'll ever encounter. Having experienced something incredibly painful in his recent past, we also learn that he is no stranger to loss and hasn't been for most of his life.

The sparks between Ella and Callum are instantaneous. Even during their first encounter, there's an underlying tension that neither of them can deny. Thanks to a mix-up in the bookings system, they end up having to share a dilapidated cottage in beautiful Porthkara.

Because of their shared chemistry, neither of them is immune to their proximity to the other. Ella is the first to acknowledge how she feels about Callum. He follows soon after. They're both confused by their deep feelings for the other, despite the fact that they barely know each other.

I loved that Callum wasn't perfect. He made so many mistakes throughout the course of the story, and it was all because of his need for self-preservation. As for Ella, she made her own share of mistakes. But, her character arc is what the writer should be most proud of. Her growth seems subtle and gradual, but the reality is that none of it happens until she decides to be brave and let people in again. In fact, her returning to the life that she ran away from is the most significant part of the story.

You can't help but root for these two characters from the onset of the story. Their story is heart-wrenching, but you also know that they're going to get their HEA, albeit not as soon as you'd want them to.

I’ve been looking to acquire a cute romance like this one. I love a good wedding themed novel and the ox up of the names is a cute touch. I can’t wait to share my full review and thoughts upon completion. I think this would make a great book club pick or possibly be turned into a cute movie.

Thanks to Harper Collins UK One More Chapter and NetGalley for my copy. Here's my honest review from the heart.

We are following Callum and Ella after a hotel room mix. We get the two points from both characters throughout the book.

I've enjoyed getting to know both of these and can't pick a favourite. It's a brilliant, cosy read with some fun hiccups in between and that slow-burning spark of a budding relationship.

For Callum, after just a loss, feel for him and how certain events have triggered him.

I like how we have a small time change. This works for this book and keeps it very promising.

The ending made me smile. This book is just perfection.

Ella Swift and Callum Smith, both in town for different weddings, experience a hotel room mix-up that leads them to share a cottage in Porthkara instead of their expected luxury hotel suites. Forced to be reluctant roommates due to a storm surge, they find that more than just the weather is changing. By the time the sun rises on a new day, their futures have been forever altered.

Unpopular opinion.

This book was not for me. The premise was more interesting than the actual story.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters, they felt flat/two-dimensional.

The actual hotel room mix-up was a bit daft. Yes I know, it's just the plot device to get the MCs to a remote cottage that they have to share and fall in love. Still I expected a bit more elaborate mix-up rather than pure slapstick.

The writing was sometimes wordy descriptions (like tea and coffee making down to the details) and at times I thought I was reading a script.
