I loved this story. Ella worked in the local library and her 30th birthday gift to herself was to find her birth mum. Unknown to her her birth mum was looking for her. You had old and new characters. A famous author. A fantastic library . Love and a great best friend. My only criticism it is a rerelease with a different name and some changes .

It’s been a long while since I’ve picked up a book by Christie Barlow. I’m more of your serial killer, bloody crime scene type of reader. But after reading The Library On Love Heart Lane I’m kicking myself that I haven’t read previous books in the series! But I’m definitely going to rectify that!

Growing up in foster care, Elle Cooper always felt a piece of herself was missing. Now, as her thirtieth birthday approaches, she’s ready to find it. But when instigating the search for her birth mother, it leads to unexpected events. The author has paid great attention to her characters, creating a charming cast who feels like old friends rather than just characters in a book. Love Heart Lane has captured my heart, and I would love to move to this idyllic village with its picturesque scenery and charming residents.

This isn’t just a fluffy chick read, as Christie Barlow draws on real-life issues and writes about them with sensitivity, care, and empathy. The Library On Love Heart Lane is like opening the most delicious box of chocolates, a treat to be savoured. Christie Barlow is one of the best writers in this genre. She has written a captivating and charming book packed full of characters you really care about. Full of gentle humour, as my dear Gran’s always used to say, it’s the type of book that “warms the cockles of your heart”. I recommend you get your cosiest blanket, and a hot chocolate and immerse yourself in this fabulous, heartwarming tale.

I have recently found Christie Barlow and this is the second of the Love Heart Lane series I have read. I have enjoyed both and it was lovely remeeting some characters and discovering some new ones.

I was a librarian and am very interested in adoption issues so these factors drew me to the story.

The book evolves around Elle, her work in the local library and her wish at 30 to discover her background.

The novel sensitively deals with the issues of adoption, abandonment and substance abuse.

A really lovely read - one to be recommended.

A really moving page turner that left me with a warm glow. I really love this series of books set in the beautiful Scottish village of Love Heart Lane, returning felt like seeing old friends and getting to know some new ones. Elle is a really lovely character I really empathised with her and was willing her on throughout. A novel about librarians a romantic love story and a mystery to solve what is not to love. This was just the book to get me out of my reading slump.

Elle Cooper, a Librarian, hits her thirtieth birthday, with thoughts of who she is, who her parents are and how she ended up in a series of foster homes with a not so brilliant childhood. Elle has a close network of friends, embraces living in the Heartcross/Glensheil area, but feels there is a missing piece of the jigsaw to her life.

Deciding that now is the time, Elle makes contact with the Salvation Army, asking them to search for her birth Mother, with some very surprising results.

This book , number thirteen in the "Love Heart Lane" series is a triumph. I absolutely loved it.

This is a lovely feel good read about Elle, the chief librarian in the Heartcross library who has had a difficult past but is now in a very good place thanks to her honorary mum Irene who fostered her many years ago and has been there for her since. With a lively best friend in Pippa and a new staff member in Aiden there’s some great new characters and a strong storyline in Elle’s decision to search for her birth mum. There’s a lot of predictability in this but that’s one of its strengths as it’s guaranteed to be uplifting and provide some happy endings which can only be viewed as a positive.

Another lovely warm hug of a book based in love heart lane!
A new venue but a wonderful mix of old and new characters, it really feels like coming home with familiar faces and landmarks.
A book based in a library, writing, famous authors, books and a quest for family, love and friendship ensure a beautiful read full of kindness, understanding, surprises and a sense of belonging!
Wonderful characters in Elle, Noah,Pippa and Irene to name but a few!
Sensitive topics such as abandonment, adoption and substance abuse all illustrated sensitively and tactfully.
A really lovely read that restored your faith in humankind, and also feels very familiar for some reason.
Thank you NetGalley for this early read.

As soon as I receive an ARC of a Christie Barlow novel it has to be the next book I read. The Library on Love Heart Lane is the last east novel in the Love Heart Lane series and I devoured every single page. This book focuses on Elle, the chief librarian in Heartcross village. She grew up in foster care and recently has felt like a part of her is missing. As her thirtieth birthday approaches she decides to find her birth mother but that brings with it a whole host of unexpected events. I could not put this book down. We met characters old and new and it’s just such a warm-hearted feel good novel. It’s one to curl up with, grab a hot chocolate and just lose yourself in a wonderful novel. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.

The Library on Love Heart Lane is the story of Elle as she is approaching her 30th birthday when she submits a request to trace her biological mother, the story touches on children in care & the feelings that Elle battled with throughout childhood.

I have to admit and I hate saying it as I’m a huge fan, this wasn’t up there with previous publications however I did like the last couple of chapters based at Starcross Manor, although I had guessed some parts, I didn’t call the identity of the mysterious Sam Stone.

Thank you to OMC for the opportunity to read this lovely book and I look forward to the next one!!!

I so loved this story. I can really connect with Elle and Wilson in this heartfelt novel.
Wish I could learn who my mom is, but I don't have that since mine was a closed case adoption.
I read it in one day it was so good!
It's a little slow but then begins to pick up the pace towards the middle.
Pippa is a funny and cute girl. She made laugh and smile. I wish I had a friend like her.
I think sometimes we have to grow and mature a little in order to appreciate the finer things and people that come our way in life.
I just simply adored this novel. It will make you want to keep turning the pages to see who Elle really is
In other words the finding of oneself.
I adore the cover. One it has my favorite color and two I love the idea of a simple cottage.. It's adorable just like the puppy they add into the mix.
5 stars for excellent writing. I highly recommend this novel. You'll enjoy it like I did.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

After reading the first 12 books in the Love Heart Lane series, I was VERY excited to get into this new instalment, but unfortunately this one didn't give me the same feelings as the previous books did. I'm still unsure as to what I found missing, but something was a bit off with this one. Nevertheless, I will continue with the rest of the series though (if there's more to come that is).

This is a part of a series that I have enjoyed from the very start and this book is no exception. Our heroine Elle is a librarian and has been living a quiet life - that is until she starts looking for her birth mother, then life starts to get very busy indeed! This series is like returning to old friends and I shall miss it.

The Library on Love Heart Lane, is Elle Cooper's emotional, warm story. The start of the story is Meh, however the plot picks towards the middle and stays till the end. I enjoyed reading about the whirlwind changes happening in Elle's life leading to a HEA.

I completely failed to notice that this is a reworked version of Evie's Year of Taking Chances, until 10 seconds after I pressed the add to shelf button. As much as I absolutely adore Christie Barlow, I am not a fan of re-reading, or re-reviewing books and I know I'll just have a sense of deja vu throughout which would detract.

So instead is below my original review of the book - obviously with original character names etc.. Please do accept my apologies for being so hasty in downloading this - I saw the words Love Heart Lane and instantly clicked download as I never need to read her blurbs to know I want to read them.

Sorry Charlotte, Jennie, Chloe, and the rest of the OMC team, and of course Christie Barlow for messing up on this occasion.

-----------

It didn't take me long until I was completely hooked on the story, and had to see how the various threads would unravel.

Evie works in a library and I loved the dynamics between her and Clara her best friend, Adrian the new librarian and there other friends.

There are some large issues dealt with in this book, and one of the biggest to do with Evie's birth mum, i unfortunately predicted very early on, but it turns out not for completely the correct reasonings.

I loved all the characters in this book, and felt really at home reading this story and the setting of Becton.

This is a great showcase for the recent direction Christie Barlow's writing has gone in, and is easily one of my favourite books by her - well written, a joy to read and made me have the "feels". Definitely felt emotions towards various aspects of this story.. I loved it.
