While I normally rave over Kiersten Modglin's books, this one just didn't do it for me. The book opens with a bad relationship, cheating, a pregnancy, a quickie wedding, kids, and a murder. It all comes very quickly and is told to us instead of allowing it to unfold and show us the story. While I understand that the author wanted to tell the second half of this story, I as a reader still needed the first half in order to understand and empathize with the characters. Instead we are rushed through a ton of events and expected to care. I also felt that the trope used to close this particular story is very overdone. While I will still gladly worship at the altar that is KMod, this particular book I will leave out.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my copy of this audiobook

That was so good! Modglin never disappoints! Another domestic thriller that I couldn't put down! Listened to the audiobook while following along with the ebook and the audiobook was done so nicely with all the different narrators. Great read!

Kiersten Modglin is an author I thoroughly enjoy reading, and her books are all quite similar with slight variations of characters/plots/premises. So if I need a psychological thriller, I can trust she will deliver!

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭 The Abbotts live a façade of having a happy and thriving marriage, but with a past, kids, an office romance, and then a death on their hands, (or someone wanting it on their hands) the Abbott’s now have to come together to prove their innocence…which is hard when they are both liars! This one had a twist I did NOT see coming, and, although I thought it finished very clean, (almost too much?) I still really enjoyed the ending!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Caide and Rachel have a very rocky marriage and they have been for a while. Caide begins an office romance. So, when his office romance comes up dead, Caide knows he is the prime suspect. When the police turn down his road, he prepares his wife for the worst. But, it is not Caide they are after…IT IS RACHEL!

Talk about twisting and turning! This novel started out and I honestly thought it was going to be a “fatal attraction” type of tale. But, guess what…it twisted when the police came after Rachel. But, that wasn’t the last twist…not by a long shot.

The only reason for the 4 star rating is this is a bit far fetched on the courtroom proceedings. I am not an attorney but there is no way some of this would occur. BUT! This book is very creative and I definitely was glued to the pages. It was just a bit frustrating the way the author manipulated the outcome. That being said, I almost finished this in one day! It moves quickly and boy, are you wondering where this will go next.

And oh my gosh! The narrators! Narrated by Ellen Quay; Angie Kane; Pete Cross; Pat Grimes; Chris Lutkin; Stephanie Willing; Qarie Marshall; Sarab Kamoo…fantastic! I love a production and believe me…THIS ONE IS ONE OF THE BESTS!

Need a good thriller with several twists that will have you gasping…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!

I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

This title was previously published as If It Walks Like A Killer

The Abbotts are liars. Their charming façade is far from the chilling reality that exists behind closed doors. But despite their secrets, they aren’t killers...are they?

This was an 11 hour audiobook - much longer than what Kiersten normally brings out - With a full cast of 8 brilliant narrators, I still flew through it.

Read the synopsis, don’t read it … but definitely read this book! Another total thriller by the queen of twists!

The audio was wonderfully narrated and totally addictive.

Many thanks to @netgalley and @dreamscapemedia for an ALC

I've loved every single Kiersten Modglin book and this one was another fantastic one. I really liked the concept of this one and the execution was even better. The characters were really well developed and very intriguing all around. I was super surprised by all the twists and turns and the epilogue was a nice touch. I can't wait to read all of her other new releases. I have no idea how she's able to write so many books so quickly and still have such quality stories. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Modglin consistantly creates a cast of characters that you usually dislike, but sometimes they sneak up on you and you start to route for them even when you think they might just be the villain of the story. Another hit where Modglin makes me feel unattached to the characters and yet I can't stop reading. Typically, if a cast of characters are letting me down then I won't be able to continue with the story but it is the way Modglin crafts them to be unlikable and misunderstood that pulls you in and keeps you reading.

Rachael is a complex character who I wish we could have seen in her what the characters around her describe. We are always shown Rachael's qualities but never really get to see her work them out in the way that the other characters see her. This made the flow of the story feel a bit wonky becuase for all of the other characters we get a good insight on the good, bad, and the ugly of their character.

Like all Modglin books I would recommend this to my audience and the narration of the audiobook was crisp and aided in the fast past storyline. Thank you to the publisher for an advance listener copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the longest Kiersten Modglin book I've read and I didn't like it very much. It was compelling at first but the courtroom drama dragged on for way too long and there were a lot of unnecessary details that didn't add to the story. I wasn't a fan of the plot twist so sadly this was a miss for me. I'm glad her writing style has changed over the years because her newer books are fast paced and fun to read whereas this was just too long.

Becoming Mrs. Abbott
by Kiersten Modglin
Narrated by Ellen Quay; Angie Kane; Pete Cross; Pat Grimes; Chris Lutkin; Stephanie Willing; Qarie Marshall; Sarab Kamoo

KMod does it again! Becoming Mrs. Abbott was a thoroughly entertaining and fast-paced listen. Caide and Rachael are married and have two little ones. Everything seems perfect until you realize that it isn't. Caide isn't the perfect husband or father, and his actions, along with another surprise, lead to murder. Rachael doesn't remember killing anyone, but the video evidence is irrefutable. As the story unravels and more and more details are revealed, this story will keep you guessing until the near-ish end.

I always enjoy stories written by Kiersten Modglin. The most fantastic thing about her stories, besides being well-developed and written, is that her plots are ALWAYS different and unique! The narration was performed well by a cast of characters.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, KMod, and Dreamscape Media!

I can’t believe this was her first published book. It was amazing! The plot had me hooked the entire time. I was very much invested in the characters.
The full cast listen was done so well! I have been raving about this book since I finished & can’t stop telling people to pick it up. I thought the twin twist would fall flat & it did not disappoint. Had an amazing time listening & reading.

This audio book had great narrators but it was so, so long that I kept losing interest in the main plot and I struggled to get any empathy for any of the characters. I’m sure I’m in the minority as there were many reviews expressing delight in the plot, but I’m afraid I did struggle to get to the end. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me access to a review copy.

Such a fan of Kiesten's work. I was on the edge of my seat with this "page turner". Loved all the twists and turns. Probably one of my favorite KMod books.

Kiersten Modglin books are always a quick, easy read that keeps your attention, and this book was no exception. What a wild story! The multiple POVs was interesting, and the narrators did a great job. Though I did figure out one of the twists, I still was uncertain with how it fit in with the rest of the story until the big reveal, and I enjoyed the story. I was curious to see how it would all come together, and it had a few twists that I did not see coming. I would recommend this one if you enjoy domestic suspense and legal thrillers.

I was intrigued to figure out what was happening in this story. I always can binge this author’s books easily and enjoy the short chapters. I liked hear from the different POVs. I did find a lot of the trial details unbelievable but don’t want to go into too much detail about that. This one was full of lots of twists but I found myself not invested fully as it was just too unbelievable.

The narrators did a good job and this story was easy to listen to.

While the story wasn't my absolute favorite of Kiersten Modglin's work, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey it took me on. It was an entertaining read with plenty of twists and turns! 📚 The audiobook narrator did an outstanding job, bringing the characters to life and making the experience even more enjoyable.

The Abbotts are liars. Their charming facade is far from the chilling reality that exists behind closed doors. Despite their secrets, they aren't killers...or are they?

When a member of their quiet community is brutally murdered, the Abbotts find themselves prime suspects of the crime. The couple is desperate to prove their innocence, but when a tape is discovered with horrifying evidence, everything changes.

With shocking truths beginning to surface, Rachael and Caide must decide just how far they are willing to go to protect those they love.

Can they trust anyone around them, including each other?

Rachael and Caide have an imperfect marriage. Caide proposed because Rachael was pregnant, and they just made it work. Rachael is the perfect mother, but their marriage is barely holding together.

Caide is a cheater. When his mistress body is found in their office he just knows the police are coming for him. They are shocked when Rachael is the one arrested and on trial for murder. She swears she is innocent, but there is so much evidence pointing right at her.

This story had my head spinning trying to figure out who did it, who had motive, or who knew what was going on. Great narrators for main characters, as well as a few surprise character POVs. A true roller coaster that has you at the edge of your seat. Well played twists and surprises!

Wow Kade sucks.
So Kade is in love with a coworker and he's working all the time. Then one night he kisses her and the next day she decides to quit. She can't work with a man she is in love with. That night they "work late" and do more than kiss.
They hear a noise upstairs so he leaves and goes home. She stays.
She gets murdered that night.
Someone I wasn't expecting gets arrested and it gets crazy. The trail stuff is interesting.

Also oh Kade married his wife only because she got pregnant. He doesn't even hang out with her.

Without hesitation, KMs books are always quick, entertaining, twisty and even a little border line could that even happen. But I am always entertained and I always get taken in by at least one of the twists. If she isn’t the queen of the popcorn thriller, she is definitely at the top of the genre.

This one is slightly longer than the other books I’ve read of the author, but still the quick pace and twists you won’t see coming. And another one that might be a smidge over the top, but I guess I can over look that when I am this entertained.

I listened to this one and thought it a great audiobook listen. The narrators drew me in and let the story shine.

Becoming Mrs. Abbott by Kiersten Modglin definitely surprised me and kept me guessing. It got me really engaged from the very beginning but then it started to sound that it was going to be a court procedural. And I remember thinking that there was no way I was going to get through 8 more hours of dry court drama. But it got better! It just has a few inserts of that. I really liked that there were a lot of narrators. I thought the book was moving along at a nice pace. The twists were pretty twisty! I did not guess the outcome and I always like when it happens. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to all fans of domestic mystery and thrillers! Well done!
