I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Amalie Lincoln moved to Jubilee, Kentucky, to start fresh, build her business, and heal the scars of her past. Little did she know she'd run into Sean Pope, a beloved childhood friend she hasn't seen in decades. But on the day she moves to town, a helicopter explodes under suspicious circumstances, wreaking havoc on the families of Pope Mountain.
As the Jubilee PD dives into their investigation of the incident, Sean and Amalie find comfort and a budding romance with each other. Life in Jubilee becomes exactly what Amalie hoped for. But as the investigators uncover the truth and the crooks behind the attack set Amalie in their sights, Sean must face the danger or risk losing Amalie forever.
Sharon creates magic intertwining the lives of her characters. We see the past, present and future of their lives.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I am becoming a huge fan of Sharon Sala! This was a fantastic read! The story was good and really kept me on my toes. The characters are written very well and I felt like I knew them. I ma going straight for another book from this series. Highly recommend
This was my first novel by Sharon Sala and I’ll definitely be going back to read the two books that precede this one.
I don’t usually enjoy multiple povs however this one was done in a way that worked so well that you weren’t ever confused and got to be fully immersed in all the different characters and plot lines that were on going.
Romantic suspense is a genre I’ve not really touched before but after Heartbeat I will definitely be exploring it more.
Thank you Net Galley for gifting me an ARC of this book.
Heartbeat is the 3rd book in the Jubilee, Kentucky series and my favourite so far. Amalie Lincoln was in a serious car accident two years earlier that left her with serious scars from being burnt. She is now healthy, but unable to find a job. Although she has money from the accident, she wants to work again. She moves to Jubilee, Kentucky for a fresh start and to set up her own office as a CPA. Sean Pope, a local IT specialist, helps her set up her computers and office. Amalie was abandoned as a baby and was raised in foster care. Little does she know that her search for her father is coming to an end. When she entered her DNA into a genealogical site, she wasn't sure whether she would find a relative, but she never expected who she matches with.
Heartbeat is a romantic suspense story that has a lot of coincidences that move it forward. As Amalie and Sean get to know each other, they realize that they have met before. He assists her setting up her office as well as planning an open house for her business. Things get interrupted when a helicopter explodes over the Jubilee elementary school. Who is trying to kill the business man who was supposed to be on the flight? I am enjoying getting to know the Pope family and all their relatives. They are a very close family who will do anything for one another. There are a couple of villains in this one and they are very well written and easy to dislike. This is a quickly moving story that I listened to in one day, and I very much enjoyed how it all ended. It was a bit predictable, but there was a lot to keep me interested, even though I had figured a lot of the plot out. This was an enjoyable romantic suspense story and I am looking forward to seeing which Pope falls in love next.
Sharon Sala is my all time favourite author. I have not read a book of hers that I haven't instantly fallen in love with. I just connect with her books and find them very hard to put down. In Heartbeat I was excited to read more with the Pope brothers and this one is suspense filled from the beginning with a incident at the local school. The fear for the children's safety had my heart in my throat. Sean Pope is reunited with a school friend and I my heart melted!
loved this romance and how the characters changed through the story. also loved the friends and all of the interesting things that happened during the story. loved the growth of the main character and all of her trials .
Sean Pope is the second son of Shirley Pope. He owns his own computer repair and security business and lives at home to help his mother. Sean’s life revolves around his family. Amalie Lincoln grew up in foster care and aged out. She’s an accountant and looking for a change after surviving an almost life ending accident. Amalie takes a holiday trip to Jubilee, Kentucky and decides it’s a great place to start over. Sean and Amalie find that their lives might be a Heartbeat away from forever when they’re reunited.
Sharon Sala’s Heartbeat is her third book in the Jubilee, Kentucky series. She focuses on the second son of Shirley Pope Sean, who runs a computer repair and security business out of the family home. He lives with his mom to help and take care of her. Sean along with his three brothers was affected by the family scandal that is why they all moved back to Jubilee and changed their last name to Pope. Amalie Lincoln was in the foster care system most of her life but thanks to a benefactor at her school was able to attend college and become an accountant. Her life changed drastically after a car accident almost took her life and left her with scars. When Amalie decides to take a holiday vacation in Jubilee, the mountain calls to her and has her moving to town.
Heartbeat is the story of two people who had a crush on each other in grade school. After he becomes her hero in a bullying incident, and she changes foster homes they lose touch only to be reunited when he comes to install her computer equipment for her accounting business. As Sean and Amalie get reacquainted and hear about what happened to each other during their time apart. They grow closer and closer as danger comes into play. Amalie never knew her father so when a DNA test finally gives her a match it just makes the situation more tense. Sean stands by her throughout it all. Heartbeat has suspense, murder and danger as two grade school crushes find love and family.
Sharon Sala writes a wonderful story of love, danger, suspense with a little bit of humor and psychic ability thrown in for good measure in the third installment of her Jubilee, Kentucky series. Heartbeat takes the reader on a journey through a helicopter crash, murder, with lives at stake just when you think everything is going to quiet down. Ms. Sala adds some cuteness and humor with the addition of a very cute little girl. The Pope boys run to the rescue when the local school is in trouble. This Sharon Sala fan has loved her story telling for years and her books are always a must read for me. If you’re a fan of suspense with love stories and looking for a new author, I highly recommend this one. This story is a standalone with connected characters, so you don’t have to read Don’t Back Down and Last Rites, but I recommend that you do along with the two books coming soon about the last two of the Pope brothers.
I love Sharon Sala's books. Her writing style and stories are spectacular. The stories have always ended with my being obsessed with reading more of her books. Heartbeat is part of the Jubilee series which I hadn't realized.... but I recommend reading whole series, though it can stand alone. The premise itself is refreshingly distinctive, offering a romantic suspense that differentiates itself in this genre. All the characters have a unique and intriguing backstory to bring to the table. Sean and Amelie get to dazzle you with their pure and bewitching relationship with moments that draw at the heartstrings. The gripping suspense keeps readers guessing till the very end. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sharon Sala, and Stlourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
*Reviewed on NetGalley, Amazon, and Goodreads.
Amalie cannot believe her good fortune when she moves to Jubilee Kentucky. Not only did she find the boy who stood up for her when she was a young Foster Child but she has also received a message from Ancestry.com that she has a familial match. But will the match be worth the price she may have to pay for being related. Thank you for the Arc copy.
We return to Jubilee, Kentucky series with book 3. Sean is a member of the Jubilee Police Department and he's determined to keep Amalie safe, woo her, and marry her. She's just what the family has always hoped for Sean and they're more than willing to help the romance run smoothly. You will want to read the first two books but you can read boook 3 without the previous stories.
I received this as an advance copy from NetGalley.
Amalie Lincoln is a successful CPA who aged out of the foster care system. After a near fatal accident, she feels an inextricable pull to start fresh and finds herself settling in Jubilee, Kentucky in the shadow of Pope Mountain. Sean Pope, IT technician does some work for her, and they both discover that they were childhood friends who have found a home in the same town. Amalie's fresh start faces several roadblocks as disaster, misdeeds, and malice make it bumpy she continues forward for her own slice of happily ever after.
I have read Sharon Sala's Blessings Georgia series and a handful of others, but this is the first from the Jubilee Kentucky series. It has the small town connects and strong heroines that I have come to expect from her, and winding path to a conclusive ending for the main couple, leaving much room for a later visit. I will be adding the beginning of this series to my TBR.
I have been provided with a review copy of Heartbeat from NetGalley for an impartial review. I was just drawn into this story and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I was so disappointed to turn the last page and I immediately wanted more. I can’t wait to see what's next from this author.
I really enjoy reading Sharon Sala's books. This book is definitely has a heartbreaking story but it will also give you good emotions too. I was hooked from the beginning until the end. I'm really enjoying this series. If you haven't read any of the other books it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed the characters story. I would definitely recommend this book as well as her other books.
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for allowing me to read this ARC in advance for my honest opinion.
Heartbeat by Sharon Sala
Jubilee, Kentucky series #3. Contemporary romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Some characters from the prior books show up but you don’t need to know them to appreciate this story.
Amalie Lincoln moved to Jubilee, Kentucky after recovering from a car accident. She felt pulled to the small town and mountains after a visit and is opening an Accounting business there. One of her first tasks is to get her computers securely set up. She hires Sean Pope, finding out that he is the hero that saved her from bullies when they were in the third grade together in a different state. No one had ever stood up for her before or after that event and she’s so happy to reconnect with him.
Sean Pope can’t believe that Amalie is back in his life. He’s extremely happy she’s moved to town and soon realizes that Amalie is a bit like his elderly relative with a touch of knowing things.
On the day Amalie moves to Jubilee, a helicopter explodes over the local school and investigators are soon asking questions around the area. She suddenly in the cross hairs of the investigation since she say the explosion and was able to describe it well enough for the police to realize it had to be a bomb.
Coincidence, fate or something else? Amalie feels immediately at home in Jubilee and both the residents and Sean’s family make her feel welcome. But that she saw the helicopter explode and soon finds out she had a direct connection to a person onboard is quite unusual. It’s possible the killer is now after Amelia. Fortunately Sean’s family has the police department covered.
Twists, surprises and connections abound and the mystery unravels with surprises along the way. A little bit of the psychics of past lives and souls meeting again are unconsciously being exposed by Amalie. Sean and his family are very comfortable with that type of thing from generations of his family living in the mountains and surrounding area as well as a touch of it within the family.
Intriguing, with a seemingly destined romance, and found family. An absorbing read that caused a few chills and satisfaction in a happy romance and reunion, as well as a killer brought to justice.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased an audiobook copy to reread it in the future.
An emotional and captivating romantic mystery that will answer every question you have about the story and characters, never leaving you wondering “what about? Sean Pope has been busy building his tech business in Jubilee. His mother and brothers moved there after their father was sentenced to prison and the mountain is the home for many Pope relatives as well as many Glass & Cauley cousins. Hired to complete the tech requirements for Amalie Lincoln, a CPA, he feels as if he should know her and she has the same feeling. They realize where they met before and Sean welcomes her to Jubilee and his family. Raised in foster care, never knowing if she had any relatives, she submits her DNA to Ancestry.com. When she gets an answer to her request, how will this affect her life? Just knowing that there might be someone for her, will it bring her peace? She had never felt as if she mattered to anyone, until Sean. When she is targeted, he knows that she is a survivor, but will he and his family be able to keep her safe? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Sean Pope has finally found his niche at Pope Mountain and when Amalie moves back, he wants to get to know her better. Unfortunately, they are going to have more obstacles to overcome. These characters had so much sadness and suffering in their lives, and I knew Sharon Sala would bring them together in the wonderful way she always does, but oh, it was so hard to not read this book all in one sitting. I had to know what was going to happen next. No one writes a story like Sharon Sala and this was no exception. You will not want to miss this one!
*4.5 stars*
Another heartwarming visit to Jubilee…
This series is a hallmark for this author’s heartwarming and engaging stories and I couldn’t wait to get back to Jubilee. Sean and Amalie’s story was, once again, all about family and life – the good and the bad – and how the Popes support each other along every step. The brothers are strong, steady and all worthy of love as Sean was going to discover. His future was going to rise out of his past…
Amalie was new to town and was happy to discover her knight in shining armor lived in her new home too. Not all childhood memories were bad and they shared a brief moment in time that soon became the foundation for both their futures. Tentative steps in their new relationship were taken as a deadly mystery unfolded close by. Little did they realize they were caught up in something more personal than they could have thought…
Not too sweet, with just enough sass and turmoil to keep things very interesting, this was a great read I will read over and over…
I so enjoyed this third book in the Jubilee, Kentucky series! This is the story of Sean and Amalie. They met once as children and now fate has brought them together again. This time they are not letting go of each other. Amalie has never had a family of her own and is loving being a part of the huge Pope family. They find trust in each other through all of life's twists and turns. This is my first series by Sharon Sala and it won't be my last! Many thanks to NetGalley for letting me read the ARC of this book.
