Although a lot of the poems were interesting and impactful, the formatting was often confusing and hard to understand. This may also be because I read it on a Kindle and that in print it makes more sense.

Althought this ownvoice poetry was very relevant and impactful, I struggled to get through it and was at times met with confusion.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for this arc through netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is quite an interesting book. Reading these poems was pretty hard for me but I got through it. I can understand what the author is writing about. It does get a little confusing . it seemed like he's talking about two things at once but when read again, its understandable. The book is tntresting, sad, angry and whatever other emotions he brings to the table. Only read this if your not going to be triggered. Its a tough book to get through for me.

I received a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review

I'll admit the first few were a bit rough to get through. I feel like hearing them performed would have made them easier to understand.

Still, other than that rough beginning the poetry here was raw and emotional. It was relatable is some of the worst ways even without the shared experience.

The whole time I read this I pictured it being read aloud at an open mic poetry night. These stories, these intense poetic entries felt like a much needed creative outlet for the author and I find that beautiful.

The content itself is heavy, depressing, and vulgar so please check your trigger warnings before diving in. I had a hard time getting through parts of it. That said, I think this message is important and will likely relate to an audience that will feel seen when they read it.
