Thanks netgalley for this book, I had read the first one but it’s not necessary to read the first one the Doctors wife.
I enjoyed both the books and in some way I thought Fern was an extremely strong woman and liked her character.
Fern was married to Drew who was a brilliant doctor, they had amazing friends and lived a great life, except for the fact that Drew was having an affair and there was no way that Fern was going to let him get away with that.
She killed him and put the blame on the woman that was having an affair with her husband,
Fern was clever and was always one step ahead of anyone finding out, so she thought.

The Doctor's Widow is the follow up to The Doctor's Wife. I loved The first book and was excited to learn that there was another one, as the first one left us with more to learn.

Fern is moving on from her husbands murder and is living the life of a widow. She plays the part of the grieving widow when it suits her.

Greg is determined to prove that Fern is the actual murder, not Alice who is currently in prison for the crime.

This installment gives some much needed info that the first book left us wondering about. It is also a set up to book 3, as we are again left wanting more from the story.

The twist, lies and deception made for an exciting read. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a fun thriller.

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

The story continues in the second book of this series with Fern moving on with her life after the death of her husband Dr Drew Devlin. Fern spends the life insurance money buying a lavish house back in Manchester. She meets and falls in love with Roger, thinking the past is behind her and that her secret is safe. Little does she know that Roger has his own secret ! Will she find out the truth about Roger? Is he who he seems ?
I was so lucky to receive an advanced readers copy of this book and yes, Daniel Hurst drew me in from start to finish as he always does! Secrets and lies are exposed and many twists to keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat. Fantastic suspenseful thriller which will have you page turning all the way through…. I feel there could be a 3rd story in this series… I sure hope so!

I've been on such a Freida McFadden kick and discovered this series through her Facebook group! The first book in this series left me slack-jawed and wanting more, and this sequel certainly delivered! Hurst has a very unique writing style with little dialogue, but still captivates readers with the numerous twists and turns throughout the story. Looking forward to reading more from Hurst!

Read this if you like:
new blooming love
wealth
multiple POVs
Sherlock Holmes vibes
How to get away with murder

When I finished reading the prequel The doctor’s wife I was determined to know how Fern her story would further develop. The story starts immediately with how Fern settles in her new life as the doctor’s widow now. Little did she know that her new lover Roger has his own hidden agenda during his romance with Fern. The fun thing about this is, as reader you know all about his plans but Fern is completely in the dark which gives the whole story a charged feeling with the necessary tension in the air.

You don’t follow the story from Fern her POV only but also from her previous victim Alice who’s in prison, her boyfriend Roger and a detective. I didn't find all perspectives equally interesting to read (especially those from Roger), but they do add a nice twist to the story.

This sequel contains a lot more action and depth to Fern as a person than in the prequel, which I liked a lot and made me more invested in her story and the outcome of it. The question you ask yourself throughout the whole story is: will she be able to pull it off again? But unfortunately it seems like we’ll have to wait till the release of another sequel, which hopefully will happen.

I’m definitely a fan of Fern and her escapades and can’t wait to read more of it.

Thank you @netgalley & @bookouture for this ARC.

I loved The Doctor’s Wife but may have loved this book even more. Has Fern finally met her match? Will the truth be discovered? Read this book to find out. I couldn’t put it down!

Thanks to Netgalley for the early release.

I love all of Daniel Hurst’s books and stories! He does a great job keeping the suspense coming and The Doctor’s Widow did the same thing!

Thanks NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book before it’s release!

This book had me on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time putting this book down. Wife kills husband for having an affair then kills the husband of the wife he cheated with. Then sends the women the dr cheated with to prison for his murder. Wow, I mean that’s pretty crazy. It’s crazy how she confessed then killed the dr’s friend to try and cover up her confession. Too late he already sent the video to the officer. The ending was such a great twist. Excellent book!!

A great follow up to The Doctor's Wife. So many twists but a cliff hanger ending so I cant wait for book three in the series. Daniel Hurst has done it again!!! This story would be amazing turned into a film.
Many thanks to Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.

I loved this second installation of the Doctor’s Wife series. The Doctor’s Widow is everything I want in a thriller. The tension is high and so are the stakes for Fern. Will she have what it takes to get away with murder, or will she be her own worst enemy? Is it wrong to root for a serial killer? I found that I was doing that throughout this twisty, addictive thriller. I love Daniel Hurst’s writing. He cleverly pulls you in while keeping the tension high and making you race to the shocking and satisfying conclusion. I am already looking forward to book 3 of this must-read incredibly entertaining series. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A gripping, fast paced, fun book that delivered on all levels!!! Daniel Hurst has wowed me yet again! I enjoyed The Doctor’s Wife it left me with my jaw hanging open at one of the twists. I was so excited when I saw that there was another book in the series coming out. As with the first book, The Doctor's Widow was fast paced, well thought out, and riveting! I did not want to put this book down. If you have not read The Doctor’s Wife, I highly recommend reading it prior to reading The Doctor's Widow. You will be happy you did. Both are terrific!

Fern Devlin was once married to Doctor Drew Devlin. He cheated on her and is now dead...

Fern has collected the life insurance money and moved on with her life. She is happy and looking forward to the future. She wasn't looking for romance when she met Roger in a bar, but she couldn’t resist his charms, his looks, and his honesty. But Roger makes a slip and Fern begins to wonder, just how much does Roger know about her and her life with her late husband.

Woohoo!!! This was a fun ride. Daniel Hurst writes books and characters that I can't get enough of. They are pure enjoyment, shocking, full of twists, and hard to put down. Being able to get inside Fern’s head was a blast! Plus, the ending.... well done, sir, well done!

Well written, gripping, fast paced and left me wanting more.

I can't wait to read what Daniel Hurst writes next!!!

I had both the book and the audiobook which made for a fabulous reading experience. I loved the narration of the audiobook. Very well done.

The Doctor’s Widow
By: Daniel Hurst
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was thrilled to get this early copy as I love the first in the series The Doctor’s Wife. “ Things are very different now that I am the doctor’s widow.” You know by the title Fern Devlin, the wife is now a widow.

Hurst always comes off with a fresh approach and I was loved the story filled with surprises. Does she have anything to do with his death, after all there is a huge life insurance policy and the police usually suspect the wife.

Ready for her new chapter, she plays the widow effortlessly. Hurst’s follow-up is just as good if not better than the first. I sure hope he continues this series.

The story was woven with so many themes. The deception, twists, revenge and everything in between as Fern moves on had me from the very beginning until the last. To me, Hurst is the man who knows how to craft a story about women and does so smoothly. Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this advanced copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read the arc of The Doctors Widow! This is a follow up to The Doctors Wife but could definitely be a stand alone read if anyone hasn’t read the first. Finished this book in a day. Gripping! It seems there will be a third in the series that I am looking forward to!

Since Drew's death a few months earlier Fern is now moving on, with her husband's inheritance money she has moved back to Manchester, bought herself a fancy new home and car and has even found a handsome new man to spend her time with. She wasn't looking for love but Roger is everything that Drew wasn't and she's enjoying being treated properly. But that all changes one night when Roger says something's that makes Fern think he knows about her past, can she really trust this man or is her life about to fall apart again?

This is the second in the Doctor's Wife series which sees Fern picking up the pieces after her husband's death and the person the police believe was responsible is safely locked up in prison. I felt quite empathetic towards Fern in the first book, but my feelings towards her changed this time round, she really was the epitome of a woman scorned! Told from multiple perspectives of the main characters, this is the usual fast paced, action packed thriller that we have come to expect from Hurst which can be read as a standalone, but the story is better understood if you read the series in order. Another great instalment and, assuming there's going to be a book three, I look forward to seeing where Hurst takes us next in Fern's story.

I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval. I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.

Fern is just trying to live her life after the death of her husband, the husband's mistress, and the husband of the mistress.
She has been awarded all her husband's money. Has purchased a new car and a new house
Life can't get any better than this

Greg meets Fern. Fern thinks she's gotten a second chance. But Greg has alternate motives. Fern won't see it coming. She just cares that she's gotten away with murder the first time

The Doctor’s Widow is the second installment of the Doctor’s series. I think this could be read as a stand alone, however should be read after reading the first one to get the full understanding of the characters.

This was an excellent second book to this series with lots of twists and turns to the plot. I read this very quickly and it drew me in during the first chapter. It definitely ends on a cliffhanger and I am hoping for a third book!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the eARC.
