I really liked this book, it was different than anything else I've read which was a breath of fresh air. I will be recommending this to my friends, and auto buy this author!

this wasn't a horrible thriller but it didn't fully keep my interests and the characters drove me insane. Usually it might be one but the husband and wife both did in this situation. That makes it hard to keep going.

A sneaky, lying husband. A dedicated, hard working, loyal wife. A strange family with ulterior motives. And a blizzard. Great to read during winter time, with Christmas coming. Had me hooked. Very good.

So many twists and turns!! Overall a jaw dropping read! This was my first Emily Shiner book & it will not be my last!
I loved the entire setting of the book. A remote cliff in Maine with a quaint Bed & Breakfast!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

**A huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Emily Shiner for the opportunity to review an ARC of this book**

Short chapters and multiple POV's make this for an incredibly fast read.

Abby and Mark run a family-owned B&B overlooking a cliff in Maine. They were blessed with a baby boy after struggling with infertility for years, and Abby will stop at nothing to protect him, but how far will she really have to go?

The Rowe family showing up to their Inn will certainly put her motherly love and protection to the test. Abby does not trust this family and knows there is something going on with them, as well as her husband who looked quite scared/shocked when they arrived at the Inn.
How does he know them? why does the Rowe family insist they have been there before when Abby knows for certain she has never seen them before?

this was such a fine ride. 5 stars!

The Hotel is a book about a family owned B&B that is down on its' luck. One of the owners decides to have an anniversary sale to help boost sales. Immediately after posting it a family decides to book the entire B&B! Shortly after the family's arrival, a nasty snowstorm hits. The roads are snow covered and the power goes out but that's okay, right? Except both families have secrets that slowly come to light as the storm rages on. Things are definitely not how they appear at this cozy B&B in Maine.

I absolutely love Emily Shiner's books. They are quick and very twisty. There is always a word or a sentence part way through that turns the entire story upside down and this one was no different. I won't give it away but when you read it, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. The characters are great. The setting is perfect. The story is a fast-paced read with a few twists that made my eyes go wide. I really enjoy this writing style.

I would definitely recommend this book, especially if you're a fan of Freida McFadden and Kiersten Modglin.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a chance to read this for free. This was my honest review.

This book was amazing! While it was a little slow going at first, once I was about halfway through I could not put it down. There were so many twists that I did not see coming!

This book was so good and I as hard as I tried I didn’t know what was going to happen! I love when I guess and it’s wrong! I will definitely be telling people about this book!

This book right here? You need to get your hands on it. Because it has everything.

A hotel that might just not be what it seems? Two different families with secrets? A loss of electricity? All hell breaking loose?

Check, check, check, AND check.

I'm not sure what I thought I was getting into, but I loved nearly every minute of it.

This novel starts off as a slow burn. What we have is a family that seems perfect on the outside, and another family that is showing obvious cracks to their exterior. The Rowes claim that some time away in the middle of nowhere is just what they need, but do they have ulterior motives?

And while at first it seems like the Hardy Family are perfect aside from needing to tighten their belts a little, slowly we discover that all is not as it seems. And then things spiral out of control.

The only reason this book didn't get 5 stars for me is because the end was a little farfetched. But otherwise? It was an excellent ride.

Emily Shiner writes unputdownable intense psychological thrillers. It is full of action and the twist oh my!! It follows Amanda, who is successful doctor with a perfect life. But one day, a woman starts to follow her in a red car. Who is this woman? As we know it will end with a twist that you didn't see coming. I enjoyed reading as the story unfolds. The author knows how to keep you guessing til the end!!

WOW! What a brilliant BUMPY and twisted ride. I adore Emily's ability to captivate a reader so early on and keep my attention until the last page! Well done ! 4 stars

I love a locked-door thriller, so the premise of The Hotel was perfect for me. I loved that it felt like a cat and mouse type of chase as well, and I truly didn't know who the cat and mouse actually were. There were some predictable twists, but had no idea what was going on with other turns. I also really enjoyed how calm and unsuspecting it all started out, only to end up being a page-turner full of adrenaline! There were a few plot pieces I questioned (they really waited all that time for revenge? Some of the circumstances a little bit of a reach) but I was so engaged with this book that none of those quick little questions in my mind kept me from tearing through these pages. I am happy to add Emily Shiner to my list of authors to keep on my radar!

I was pleased to receive an e-ARC on Netgalley for this one.
Love the cover, and intriguing tagline.

I found this to be an enjoyable read, every so slightly a tad predictable when it came to one point in my opinion, but it was a fun ride and great atmosphere / setting.

I would for sure pick up another book by Emily Shiner again and recommend this for a fun thriller.

This was a bit of a slow burner and I didn't end up finishing it. I found the story long winded and as much as I wanted to enjoy it, I couldn't get into it.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I almost gave up on this book a few times because it felt like it was just dragging and nothing was going on. It really didn't pick up until about 65 percent. There were some twists at the end but the main twist through the whole book was easy to figure out.

Thanks to netgalley for this advanced copy. The atmosphere was good... the oncoming storm, etc. That always mesans some trouble is coming. Locked room trope, etc. I liked the setting and multiple POVs. Lots of twists, which I always enjoy.

Emily Shiner’s THE HOTEL is another domestic suspense that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Abby and Mark Hardy are the owners and operators of The Saltside Inn in Oyster, Maine. They have a wonderful, healthy baby boy named Henry who is about two years old. He is the light of Abby’s life and they fought hard to have him. Married for 20 years, they are struggling to keep the Inn afloat when Abby comes up with a marketing ploy that finally, finally gets a family in, who actually wants to stay for an entire month! Kaching!

When Lottie, Tim and their sixteen year old, Chelsea arrive there seems to be quite a bit of tension in the air. They have ulterior motives for being there, threatening Mark and continuing the extortion that’s been going on for years. And Abby seems to be oblivious to what’s happening. As everyone settles in, a terrible storm traps them on the mountain and with no way out, they all hunker down to ride out the storm. But everyone seems to be manipulating the situation to their own goals. And the ending was a total surprise!

This is my fourth or fifth Emily Shiner suspense. I love her writing style. I could feel the snow pelting my face and the wind howling outside. My heart was racing toward the conclusion and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I appreciate that her books are free of graphic sex, cursing, violence etc and that they can be read by anyone, young or um…older.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.

I liked this book pretty good until the last few chapters. I feel like the last couple chapters went off the rails a little. The ending was too abrupt for me. I was on the edge of my seat in the middle and suddenly it was over. I’d give the author another chance though. It was a good book overall. I would liked the ending tied up better. I just reviewed The Hotel by Emily Shiner. #TheHotel #NetGalley

I struggled with this one which is a shame as I had high hopes for it. I realised halfway through that I was not getting I to the story so I gave up. Shame. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
