I liked the multiple points of view and the characters were intriguing. The pacing is fast and there's plenty of tension. The mystery keeps you guessing. I loved the ending.

Six women go to New Orleans for a bachelorette party and one ends up dead. Six generally unlikeable women, most of whom the bride doesn't even seem to like, and all of whom have their own issues.
I understand all of the characters in this book all needed to have issues, in order for the reader to question who was going to get murdered and why. At the end of the day, the story was good, but I felt like it took to long to get to the actual murder.
This book was a solid read and wasn't very heavy or long, so it was good for someone looking for a palate cleanser.

Six women went on this trip but for one it's the final destination! I think this book was fast-paced so I would have wanted more details, very petty characters for the age-range of women but if your looking to read in one sitting this is a book for you

Rosalyn is set to marry Astor and despite the fact his mom Elizabeth thinks he should marry lifelong childhood friend Georgia her and Aster sister Bree are attending Roslyn‘s bachelorette party in New Orleans. Along with Rosalyn‘s best friend from college Mira and her cousin Finley. Finley‘s mom took Mira in after she lost both her parents on the same day at 14 an are as close as sisters or at least they were. Myra and Finley or the one to planned this shindig but it seems Finley was the one who got stuck with the bill they’re going to be staying in a mansion in New Orleans with a famed murderous history. Unfortunately after the bachelorette party The Mansions murderous reputation will only grow because one of the partygoers is found dead. Trust me when I say everyone had a reason for killing the deceased but she isn’t the only one being threatened because Georgia and the bride to be Roslyn both get threatening notes, does this have anything to do with the eventual death or do they have more than one villain in the story? I thought this was a great mystery and a dramatic narrative and although I wouldn’t call this a locked room mystery like in the description that doesn’t make it any less of a awesome mystery because I found it to be a really good story although I do think the multiple POV‘s sometimes I had to concentrate to remember whose turn it was because everyone except Elizabeth and Bree has a POV and that is a lot but I still think it is an awesome story and so worth recommending if you love great thrillers and good mysteries you definitely love the bachelorette party oh I certainly did. Also due to the fact I live in New Orleans there were a lot of things that were exaggerated or not true at all but it’s not relevant so I took no points away for that I want to thank One more chapter Harper 360 and net galley for my free art copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I don't want to judge this book too harshly when, in all likelihood, it's a perfectly fine book that just wasn't for me.

I'm a sucker for a locked-door murder mystery sort of thriller, so the premise and setting were irresistible. Unfortunately, the style and characters just didn't stick the landing for me.

The mystery itself is laid out in an intriguing way, with the details of the crime well thought out and engaging.

The book definitely delivers on twists and dark family secrets, but the characters didn't really resonate with me. I can really love a vicious, unlikeable character in this kind of thriller, but the mother in law struck me as completely over-the-top in terms of her pettiness and casual cruelty. In turn, I had a hard time with a lot of her interactions with the bride, who takes going along to get along to an extreme.

The POV shifts between characters from chapter to chapter, but the overall tone and style of the characters' internal monologue stayed more or less the same. I'd have liked to see more subtlety, both in their characterization and in the use of language to distinguish each character from the others.

That said, I would definitely be willing to read other work by this author.

4.5 ⭐️ Rosalee is getting married and her bridal party consists of her best friend (Mara); her cousin (Tinsley), her mother-in-law (Elizabeth), her sister-in-law (Bri), and her fiancé’s best friend (Georgia). There’s tension, there’s secrets, and there’s murder. Who will not make it to the wedding? And who did it?

This was such a fun read!! It was multiple POV and I appreciated the variety of personalities and secrets presented. I didn’t know what to expect from the reveal, and I liked how it ended. This was a super quick read, I could’ve done it in one sitting if I hadn’t been busy. Would def read this author again!

A bachelorette party in an old New Orleans mansion ends in murder. Who is the victim and who is the murderer? Was it the bride-to-be Rosalee, her timid cousin Tinsley or her overbearing best friend Mara? Or was it her disapproving future sister-in-law Bri and judgemental mother-in-law Elizabeth? Or maybe it was the groom's best friend Georgia?

Carissa Ann Lynch effortlessly builds suspense as each chapter is told from each person's point of view as the weekend wears on. At first you will judge each character, but slowly Lynch strips back why they may behave the way they do. The second half of the book is then switched to third person narrative of Detective Nina Smalls interviewing each attendee.

There were enough clues and a few red herrings to keep me guessing along the way. I'd read one chapter and think 'yup you are the victim and X murdered you'. The final twist was also a lovely touch. Just when you think you know everything you don't! The Bachelorette Party is a solid and pacy mystery that had me hooked right until the end - exactly the sort of murder mystery to devour.

This book had a really great sounding synopsis. However, honestly, the people in this book were so vanilla and not as interesting as I wanted them to be. The plot was ok but it just didn't hold my interest.

When I say this book has twists....I mean twist that could cause injury!! The final twist OH MY!!

I read The Bachelorette Party in less than 2 days!! It is unputdownable!! There is a ton of action and you are never quite certain who is good or who is bad!

Bonus it is set in New Orleans which is one of my favorite fun yet creepy places. It was literally the perfect setting for this book!!

Title: The Bachelorette Party
Author: Carissa Ann Lynch
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Six very different women attend a bachelorette party at an old house in New Orleans and one doesn’t make it out alive. The attendees include Rosalee (the bride to be), Tinsley (the cousin), Mara (the best friend), Elizabeth (the mother of the groom), Bri (sister of the groom), and Georgia (the groom’s beautiful best friend). The story is told from the points of view of all six women. It starts with a murder scene but we don’t know who was killed and who did it until the end. They all have secrets they are hiding from eachother and more information about each character is revealed as the story continues.

This was a fast-paced page turner that kept me hooked from the very beginning! I loved getting to know each of the characters while trying to figure out who was behind the murder. I will definitely read more books by this author in the future!

Thank you to @netgalley and @harpercollins360 for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Bachelorette Party lived up to its name: light and easy reading with a fun twist yet shockingly light on the spice. That was even tamer than bachelorette parties I’ve been to and my friends and I are not exactly known as wild. The many different narratives helped put together the mystery well, but there was very clunky exposition and I wish I had a dollar for every ellipses used. It began getting silly and I started hearing dun dun DUNNN in my head when they’d appear. Nonetheless, it was entertaining and I read it in a night.

This is a hard one for me to rate. While I didn't finish the entire story, I read enough to provide feedback. I finished roughly 70% and then skipped to the last 5-10%. I didn't enjoy the opening chapter, as the writing style was a bit odd, but I continued on despite not feeling lead to pick it up. It started out fairly slow for me, and at the MIL's chapter, I considered giving up. I felt that she was written as your stereotypical judgey and unpleasant MIL, and I began to dread reading her parts. The pace picked up, however, and overall, the book was very fast paced and short.

One of the biggest things that impacts my rating of thrillers/mysteries is whether or not the story is predictable. While I felt that quite a few of the girls were stereotypical/predictable in general, I wasn't able to guess how things went down, and the epilogue really blew my mind!

Overall, I felt that this was a pretty middle of the road read and wasn't one that would stick with me.

Thank you to Netgalley for this arc. All opinions are my own.

3.5 rounded up. Thank you NetGalley for giving me a copy of this book. I have such mixed feelings on this book. I loved the mystery all the way through. I loved how the author had each chapter told by a different characters point of view so you slowly started to learn secrets about each one and who knew what. The book also flipped to the detectives point of view which I loved seeing how the detective worked to price together all the clues. The biggest downfall to the book was the ending!!! It was not a bad conclusion to how it was unraveled but it was just so abrupt! I ended the book with so many questions and we don't know if the "bad guy" was brought to justice or not. If there were a chapter or two more to tie up loose ends it would have been a much better read

This one was definitely a quick read, and I'd consider it a good read for a plane, car ride, etc. With that being said, it was an easy read with unlikeable characters, and the need for the reader to suspend a lot of disbelief.

I've seen this similar plot in a lot of books recently, and the ones that are done well try to be relatable so the reader can get behind the characters and plot. The Bachelorette Party did not attempt that, which made it a bit too far fetched for me.

I personally could just never invite 1 person let alone 5 people to a party that I didn't like AND trust. Why put yourself through that?! This reminded me a lot of She Started It which was a DNF for me.

Check this one out if you like quick, easy thrillers with multiple POVs and twists.

Bonus points for the witchy vibes of NOLA.

This was a classic case of “Who dun it?” with plenty of finger pointing, lies and blatant hate for one another. The multiple POVs give you a great insight to the character development, along with the plot development. I was definitely shocked at the end of the book when the truth about the murder was told. It was a good, quick read full of catty behavior and jealous women.

A perfect mix of mystery and suspense -- think Clue: The Bachelorette Version! The book kept you guessing the whole time who the victim and killer would be. Throughout the beginning, the author sprinkles eerie foreshadowing for all the characters, keeping you on your toes while revealing their own worries or insecurities. The description of New Orleans and Bourbon really took you there and made you feel like you were on the trip with them, which she also got the accuracy of bachelorette trips spot on. The story and banter between characters kept you drawn in and I liked how each chapter was a different character, but I found the plot twist a bit anti-climatic and almost had it figured by the time it was revealed. I was not affected, but there should be trigger warnings for some of the topics discussed. Overall., this was a great, fall thriller and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

WOW! Finished this in one day, I could NOT put it down. The story is told through the POV of all 6 characters in each chapter attending a bachelorette party in New Orleans - lies, suspicions, a murder, a twist - AMAZING! I loved seeing the story unfold from different views and VERY different personalities of each woman. AND the ending?! Just WOW!

THANK YOU to the author, Netgalley and Harper 360 for this amazing ARC in return for my honest review :)
