What a wonderful Christmas story. I wasn't sure when I started reading this book if I would like it. Not a fan of the grinch but as I kept reading i realized it was so much more!

I loved this heartwarming rendition of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. I didn't realize this book was based off of a Lifetime Christmas movie with Toni Braxton written by this author. Now I have to watch the movie version for sure! It was a really touching reminder of how important it is to have love in our lives and to treat people the way you want to be treated. How anything is possible at Christmas. Gives you all the feels for the upcoming holiday season. Don't forget to check out the yummy recipes and activities at the back of the book!

Thank you to NetGalley and HawkTale Publishing for this eARC.

A lovely Christmas read. A brilliant twist on a Christmas classic.

Alexis has a very heartbreaking back story, and I loved how her ‘ghosts’ were her parents and they still led from their hearts and showed her love and understanding. Sometimes I think if we all had the chance to step outside ourselves and view situations and people we might make better and more considerate decisions.

A very easy read that filled me with the Christmas spirit.

I am loving all the Christmas books coming out and this one is yet another lovely, Christmassy, heart-warming and fun read. A book about second chances this is a charming and easy to read this will get you right into the Christmas spirit and put a smile on your face.

Love Alexis, her character is strong yet she has a sensitivity about her, the story has the feel of Scrooge about it and it is very entertaining while also being cute and tender. I really enjoyed this light and fun read.

Thank you NetGalley and HawkTale Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Karen Schaler always seems to capture the essence of Christmas in her stories. This time she models her story off of Charles Dickens famous "A Christmas Carol" book. She has a woman as the main character who after suffering a tragic loss has her priorities go off the rails. This story has redemption, forgiveness, love and all of the emotions that make it a great holiday read. Light a fire, grab a hot chocolate and sit down in your favourite reading chair to enjoy this holiday book.

EVERY DAY IS CHRISTMAS
by Karen Schaler
Release Date October 10 2023

This is a modern retell of A Christmas Carol. After the tragic death of her parents at Christmas. Alexis Taylor turns into a real Scrooge, with a twist of the Grinch thrown in. She feels the only thing that is important is to become a success. She did accomplish that.
As in the original story, her parents come back to show her her past and her future. To stress to her that money and things are not what’s really important.
I really did like how it all turned out. And I really enjoyed the fact that Justin was always there for her, even though she didn’t realize it.

I do recommend this book is a great Christmas read. Thank you Karen and NetGalley for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Loved that quote "Choose love/"

In this Rom Com, a woman is the CEO of her own company and is very successful. meaning that she earns a lot of money. Orphaned in college, she had to drop out of college. The story starts on Christmas Eve where this CEO tells her employees that they will have to work on Christmas Day. For the last twenty years, she has Not Celebrated Christmas. The reader finds out why.

In some ways, this story is a modern take on Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Personally, I have mixed feelings about A Christmas Carol and it was interesting to see how that story translates into modern times.

This novel was originally written as a movie script with Toni Braxton as the main character in the movie. I think it was a Christmas movie on Lifetime.

I really loved the story of Alexis . You really can understand why she felt the way she did but she was suffering inside. Her Mom and Dad showing Christmas Past , Christmas Present and Christmas future. I think it finally sunk in. Having her parents spirit spending time with her is just what she needed> A GREAT READ.

#BookRevew: EVERY DAY IS CHRISTMAS by Karen Schaler

This retelling of A Christmas Carol was initially mysterious, leaving me uncertain of the story's direction. The pacing was slow at times. The author included a fair amount of backstory, but Alexis's mother's scenes were particularly enjoyable. I could easily imagine her wearing the dresses her mother chose for her. I didn't feel a connection to Alexis until her realization and redemption. Her parents' deaths had a significant impact on her life goals and personality. I thought it was great that Alexis and her ex-boyfriends were able to reconcile. While this was clearly a fictional story, I was glad that Alexis found a way to return to being loving and caring towards the people around her.Her Christmas spirit has been revived.

I’d never heard of this author before, so was surprised to discover that this was not her debut book.

This is a retelling of A Christmas Carol, with a woman as the ‘scrooge’. The good thing about a retelling is that you don’t need to worry so much on where the story is headed, you already know. Unfortunately, that means that the writing style needs to be able to engage and hold interest, and for me, this book did not manage to do that.

The pacing was slow and the characters rather staid and uninteresting.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

Every time I read a Christmas book by Karen Schaler I think this is the best one yet. Now that I have read this one I think it's the best one yet. They just keep getting better and better. Once you start reading you just won't be able to put it down.

The book starts out making Alexis seem self centered and demanding but then some things happen that kinda give her a "wake up call" and she becomes this really nice person. And she surprises a whole lot of people.

I highly recommend this as one story you won't want to miss this Christmas.

I love a Christmas book and all that goes with it……and you can’t get more Chrismassy than this read
Descriptions to conjure up magnificent trees and decorations and the feelings of excitement and then on the theme of ‘A Christmas Carol’ you have the mean boss who cancels Christmas for everyone and then the revelations she receives……does she change? Well you will need to read to find out…
The author when reading about her is very very established in this genre and does what she does magnificently
If you want a feelgood Crimbo book then this has to be for you

Karen Schaler is a queen of the holiday romance, and she did not disappoint!! This Dickens classic got a modern day twist and it was lovely. If you’re a fan of Halllmark holiday movies, you’ll be a fan of this!

I enjoyed reading this book. The only thing Alexis Taylor loves is money, and is so driven, she even works Christmas Day. Her employees think she is a combination of Scrooge and the Grinch. When she gets some unexpected visitors at Christmas, can they help her see what she is missing. She has work but no life, and she thinks that is fine. She doesn't understand why no one else wants to do what she does. One of her employees said it would take a miracle for her to change, and I did have to agree. It was exciting reading this story, to see if she could change, learn to have a balance between work and having a life, and learn to love something or someone besides money.
I received an ARC from HawkTale Publishing through NetGalley.

Karen Schaler has done it again with another cute Christmassy story. The whole book has Hallmark vibes. You know where the story will go, but it is heartwarming and sweet. If you want a cheery light-hearted Christmas read, you’ve come to the right place.

I enjoyed reading this book. I must have seen the movie, probably multiple times knowing me,
as I was not surprised by many of the events as they happened. Alexis lost her parents on Christmas Eve 20
years ago. She immediately withdrew from her fiancé and celebrating Christmas. She goes on to get her MBA, opens a financial company and focuses completely on making money. The story mirrors A Christmas Carol
and as her eyes are opened, Alexis realizes she must make changes in her life.

I did enjoy reading this book very much; the familiarity of it did not take away from that. I recommend
this book for yourself or a gift for someone else.

I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
