The Doomsday Archive by Zack Loran Clark and Nick Eliopulos. 3.5 stars.

Very absorbing Middle Grade fantasy-mystery. This hits all the creepy-spooky vibes that make it a perfect autumn read (not sure why it’s being released in January. Missed opportunity there, publisher). I really enjoyed the mystery and the set up of the world that Emrys, Hazel, and Serena inhabit and discover. I definitely look forward to seeing the finished product with the illustrations; missing them felt like missing a pretty vital part of the story.

Ultimately, this book felt TOO short…I was shocked by how abrupt and short the climax was, which ultimately left me feeling a bit disappointed in an otherwise great first in a series.
