Hmmm. I have no problems with reverse harem stories - indeed I have read many powerful ones - and I liked the fact this was set in Scotland., but ye gods some of the americanisms would have you kicked out of Edinburgh!
This is surely a novella rather than a novel and that's fine but if you are going to have a large cast of main characters then a short read simply doesn't allow for any character development whatsoever. The speed of these events had me rolling my eyes. The smexy is done well, but with zero plot It just didn't work for me.
I really enjoyed the characters in this book and the ways they made the main character feel welcome. I honestly wish the book was longer I was so invested in this world and their lives. I really enjoyed it.
Did I read this whole book in one sitting? Yes.
Did I fall in love with these three man? Perhaps a little.
I’m no stranger to RH romances and even though this one in particular shook me a little since it’s about three brothers, I still think it was a pretty decent read.
The book barely has a plot. So if you’re into hot and dirty mouthed men that can’t seem to get enough of their woman, this is your thing.
I appreciate the effort the author put into making each MMC bond with the FMC, but I’m still not entirely sold on how fast their relationship evolved. Though it’s not like I could expect much when they practically fck her in an alley the second the met her.
Overall, this was an extremely easy read (for the most part. The Scottish English still has me a little confused lol) that had me reaching for the A/C remote in more than one occasion. I would recommend this book for people who are looking for something short and steamy.
This one wasn’t for me. The premise was very intriguing and a had unique setting, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. The writing felt dull and the characters lacked depth, which made it hard for me to connect with the story. On a positive note, the pacing was quite nice, but unfortunately, there seemed to be little plot development. One aspect that stood out was how well the spice was described, adding a touch of vividness to the otherwise lackluster narrative.
I generally enjoyed this book. It was a raunchy and dirty book that I was in the mood for. It was super fun and once I pick it up I could not put it down, generally so gripping due to the characters. The three brothers. were such fun character to read and Georgia is such a strong character that I enjoyed greatly.
This one just wasn’t for me. I love me a why choose romance, but Making Her Theirs is so short which does make for a quick read, but it’s quite the whirlwind. I would have liked a little more plot in there with all the sex. I’m also not one who likes a surprise pregnancy, so there’s that.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of Making Her Theirs for review. My reviews are always my unbiased opinions.
Making Her Theirs is an erotic reverse harem novel.
Georgia Henry travels to Edinburgh Scotland for work. She only plans to be there ten days. When she enters a bar, she meets three gorgeous Scottish men. The brothers owned bar; like Georgia they weren’t looking for a relationship just a little fun. Georgia is tall, statuesque, and brilliant. Knox, Finn, and Lachlan each have their own special attributes. All four characters suffer from insecurities, can they work together to heal their hearts.
What I liked about this book:
Three men, one woman, every woman’s dream.
Scottland, a beautiful romantic setting.
It was a fun book.
Romantic, sexy and HOT!
What I didn’t like about this book:
It was too short.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t really get into this. The writing is meh and I found myself just skimming through, so I ended up DNFing.
It’s definitely a book that is only for the smut, but what little plot there is wasn’t that great. The characters just weren’t doing it for me and the interactions were cringy. I think the writing got a touch better during the spicy scenes, but since I DNFed, I’m not sure how the rest went.
I was hoping I’d like this, especially since I loooove Lily Gold’s why choose books, but this book unfortunately did not live up to the expectations.
If you’re looking for something light but steamy, this is just the right book for you. Nothing much going on, so don’t go into it looking for plot or character development because i personally didn’t recommend in for that. Just go read this book for the vibes and spice❤️🔥
Georgia is in Edinburgh on a business trip and happens to walk into a bar and locks eyes with handsome Scotsman who happen to be brothers. Knox, Finn and Lachlan don’t do relationships but they will make Georgia theirs. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, emotion and sizzling scenes. I liked it.
So sorry but this just was not for me....Awful writing, not erotic at all!
I really do thank Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy. Guess you can't like everything!
The spicy scenes were the priority here, the plot was very sparse and open ended. It was a good read if plot is not your preference. The three brothers MCs were characteristically different that can be distinguished who’s who, FMC repeated listed the brothers personality traits throughout the book.
When I saw the synopsis of Making Her Theirs I knew I needed to request an e-ARC to read. I love why choose romance and always jump at the chance to read others. There's something about not having to choose between all of the love interests that creates an interesting dynamic that I love reading about.
First item I want to state is that we need to stop calling why choose books "reverse harem". Individuals have long been calling out the use of this language and the stereotype that it presents when used. Therefore, I will be using the term "why choose" throughout my review.
Tropes
Instalove, why choose, surprise/accidental pregnancy.
Content Warnings
Multi-partner sex, they are all brothers (so do with that what you will), pregnancy.
What worked for me
This book was short and hot. Lily Manning can write a good sex scene filled with the emotion that you want in a multi-partner type of story. Georgia had sweet moments with each of her men that really played into the entire dynamic. I loved the personalities of the three guys as well: Knox - the dominating protective; Finn - the flirty goof ball; Lachlan - the emotional sweetheart. What works for me in a why choose is having different enough personalities and dynamics between the guys allowing for our female lead to develop a relationship with each one for different reasons.
This book is also multi-POV, which I honestly love in any and all romances that I read. I love getting inside the head of whomever is narrating a particular chapter to understand more about what makes them click. Being in the head of each character here worked well for me. It does lead me into what I'll get into next on what didn't work for me as well though.
What didn't work for me
The length of this book is way too short for the story looking to be told. While I love multi-POV (as stated above), in order for us to fully get in the head of each character, the book needed to be several hundred pages longer. It almost felt like we were being shown only part of the story and not allowing the depth that was needed based on the backstory for each character. I would've loved to see each character start to untangle their past traumas in a meaningful way, and I don't think we really got to see much of that with the story that was told.
I was recently at a book convention where I had a great conversation with an author there about the use of the words "clean" to indicate that someone has been tested and does not have any STI's. I don't think I would've called this out if I hadn't had that conversation a few days ago, but it did stand out to me the connotation it provides of those testing positive for STIs being "unclean". Additionally, it felt like the author through caution to the wind when it came to sexual wellness in this book. In no world is she not going to get a UTI or other infection for swapping holes, and also men. I understand perhaps no protection for vaginal sex, but every guy should've been wearing a condom when they were having anal especially if they were looking to switch to vaginal within the same scene. That scene, unfortunately, gave me the ick because I could not stop thinking about the hygiene of it.
While the romance journey is a key piece of the puzzle, I think the length of the story also made it feel more insta-lovey than perhaps intended. The entire premise is that she falls for three brothers while working in Scotland for ten (10) days. I don't mind an insta-love book, but the plot here didn't support the insta-love in my opinion. Because it was so short, this book felt more like erotic romance, heavy on the erotica, than it did a full romance. The lack of development for the characters and the way in which the plot moved had me wanting more than what I was getting here.
I've talked about this in reviews previously where I like a healthy dose of internal and external conflict thus allowing the payoff of the happily ever after (or for now) be satisfying based on the journey of the characters. Because there wasn't a ton of development, it also felt that we were missing the conflict. The main conflict is that she's returning to the US after her ten days in Scotland are up.
THE REMAINDER OF THIS SECTION WILL BE A SPOILER:
However, before she can return, all three sit her down (together of course), tell her they all love her and ask her to stay. The entire conflict no longer works since she doesn't actually leave nor is there really any lead up to her going back and missing them, etc. etc.. Then we time jump for three months for the HEA. I don't mind a time jump, but it felt incredibly rushed and lacking substance to make me believe the HEA.
Spice rating
This book was SPICY! I gave it four flames, as a rating, here. It is a very open door book featuring multiple partner sex. It does not include elements of BDSM, which is why it's not a five flame/chili pepper rating.
Final thoughts
I wanted to love this book. A why choose contemporary romance featuring three brothers who love to share. While I had a good time, this felt more like erotic romance where the focus was on the sexy times rather than on the development of the plot and characters. Because I had a good time, I gave this 3.25 star rating. I will try the next installment in the series, however, to see what comes from the next why choose.
Thank to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Pure smut just the way I like it! This was a short story that easily could have been expanded into more but was just enough to fan their combustible relationship. Lust at first sight and can’t keep their hands off each other was all I needed in this Why Choose.
So while I had a hard time initially getting into this book and nearly DNF'd it because of some really awkward and campy phrasing that made me cringe a little in the beginning. But the story's bones were really good, the characters had heart, and the spice was fantastic. The issues I had with the first part of the story went away in the second half, and honestly I kind of wish this book was plumped up a bit, a longer version with a bit more editing on the front end, but Georgia, Lachlan, Finn, and Knox were great. And, I am intrigued enough to be interested in the next book in the series.
My ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The first chapter or so maybe needed some editing and the southern belle intro was a little hokey. I was a little confused with the Irish references for the Scottish brothers here and there. But the smutty scenes were top notch until the final scene when all I could think about was hygiene. Also the epilogue said 3 months later but said 6 months had passed when it had only been 3 months and 10 days and the main character is supposed to be some math geek…Easily corrected. Overall I really enjoyed the book and look forward to the next!
If you're in the mood for three incredibly smokin hot Scottish brothers, then Making Her Theirs is the book for you! Get ready for Knox, Finn and Lachlan, three dirty talking brothers who all fall for the same woman, Georgia. This is a short sexy read that will have you panting from page one.
First, thank you so much for allowing me this opportunity to read this book ahead of time. It was an honour!
What now follows is my honest review, posted on The Storygraph and Instagram.
Georgia moves to Edinburgh for a couple of weeks for her work. Her promotion is in the works, and she's got her life together. The only thing missing? Her dream partner. When Georgia visits a pub on her first night, little does she know she might just meet her perfect partner...in three different guys.
Now, first off, the spice was fast and dirty and I could wholly appreciate it. The book comes out at less than 150 pages, so I shouldn't be bummed that the story went so fast...but I am, because there was little to no build-up. I missed my foreplay, literary-wise. Secondly, I knew going in this wasn't going to be a plot-heavy book, so I don't mind that there was barely any plot - that's not what we pick up books like this for, right? The almost complete absence of plot, did make it hard to stay focused on the story. Lastly, the surprise pregnancy trope needs to be taken out back and shot, because I'm so tired. Please make it stop.
So yeah, I enjoyed myself, but it didn't blow my mind. It was just a solid, spice-y book, to enjoy with a good glass of wine and burning candles.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
I don't want to spoil anything so I'll get to the point and keep it very short.
The plot was almost nonexistent, the character development didn't happen at all throughout this book and the smut wasn't that good from my point of view.
I'm sure other people who read this might love it, but it just wasn't for me.
2.5 stars.
This was my first Why Choose? romance, so with full transparency, I will say that maybe I don't understand the genre enough to have an accurate rating. There was plenty of spice, though at times, I wanted there to be more connection so I could really appreciate the fact that the spice was occurring.
I did like the concept that all 3 brothers were different and that her journey with them was meaningful to each of them in their own way. I also appreciated the idea of how they supported her through her own emotional turmoil. The aim of that internal conflicts just didn't hit the mark for me.
