Meeting Shakespeare
When Maeve and Mick were told they could travel back in time to meet Shakespeare, they were skeptical. They decided to go through with the madness and embarked on an adventure that would transform their lives. They would meet Shakespeare; they would also find romance and danger in the past.
In this entertaining time travel adventure, Maeve and Mick would discover much about the past, but most importantly, they would learn much about themselves. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like time travel stories with romance and adventure.
This is the third book of the series, but can easily be read as a standalone. The story features a time travelling plot. Maeve is a drama teacher and dabbles in a little bit of acting herself at the local community center. She enjoys many different playwrights, her favorite being Shakespeare. She also has a crush on the director Mick. Her and Mick are approached by The Ladies of the Labyrinth to complete what seems an impossible task - they need to find out if the rumors about Shakespeare collaborating with a female poet are true, causing them to go back in time to 1592.
I thought this was a well-written time travel romance with interesting characters. The storyline flowed nicely and the plot twists kept me engaged till the end. An entertaining addition to the series!
I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade Publishing and Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Oh time-travel and a love story AND involving Shakespeare???? Love at first read! This is the amazing story of Maeve and Mick and Shakespeare. Only Maeve and Mick fall in love and I was just delighted by their tale. The travel back in time to find out if Shakespeare was the real deal or a ghost writer. There's always a crazy in these stories that just lives to cause problems for others, but no one can stand in the way of true love.
This is the last one in this series. Having said that I think you'll be fine if you've started with this one. But to get the full backstop you will need to read the previous books. I did not see the very ending coming. But let me back up. She and he have been told whats going to happen but it doesn't happen that way. They have got to keep their wits and out smart the future and the past.
I received a copy for a completely honest review, which I strive to tell to others. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s blah, sometimes it’s funny or sad. I won’t give away the ending though.
I dnfed it at 27 %, it is nothing wrong with the story. . Just not a book for me
Thank you to netgalley for letting me read this e arc in exchange for an honest opinion
Maeve Meriden stays busy, between her career as a drama teacher, and acting for fun at the community theatre. Her favourite playwright is Shakespeare, along with everyone else she has a crush on Mick, their Bohemian director. Maeve and Mick are tasked with the job of discovering if the rumours about Shakespeare are true, by actually going back in time. Did he collaborate with a female poet of the same era? So exit 2023, enter 1592.
The third book in the series & it could easily be read on its own. A well written delightful romance, The pace is good & the characters have depth. I really liked Maeve & Mick both strong characters & I thoroughly enjoyed their journey to a HEA & also the aid they gave to Will & helping him retrieve his stolen manuscripts. A thoroughly enjoyable romance laced with some intrigue
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
It's not the best way to start a series with the third instalment but this was an entertaining and compelling story.
There's romance, historical fiction, and a couple of well written characters
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
