If you’re a lover of small town romances, banter, and unlikely antics this story may be for you. This story follows Josie as she spends time in Misty Falls in hopes of finding herself, but she stumbles upon her best friend’s brother, will she find more than she bargained for?

I enjoyed many of the concepts of the story, like self-discovery, standing up for yourself, choosing to find love again, and such. I also liked the dual POV of the story because it helps give insight to both of our main characters. The author gave both characters good backstories and really explained why the way they were which I enjoyed. I also so like the concept of the small town and how there is a camaraderie there.

However, I do think some parts of the story felt a bit underwritten, as there was still so much room to explain Josie’s long term issues given her upbringing and being surrounded by toxic people as well as Rake’s previous relationship struggles. I think it would have rounded out the story more had they been addressed more and given more time to really be explained and later resolved. These are such serious matters and I don’t think one heart to heart conversation can always fix them.

All in all, the book was still quite charming, but I would have personally preferred to see these mentioned topics and things more discussed as they could add to the character’s development. Definitely do think people who enjoy small town romances may enjoy this one.

Love the cover and love the punny title. Such a fun romcom! I enjoyed it so much. Based in a small town of Misty Falls, Josie bumps into her friend's famous brother, Rake. They have great chemistry and so many parts in the book I laughed out loud....ferrets!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I wanted to love this, because it has many elements that I love in romcoms: small town setting, dual POV, best friend's brother, he falls first, forced proximity, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. Both characters were immature in the beginning of the story, while they are supposed to be 25/30 years old, they acted and sounded more like teenagers; Josie couldn't stand up for herself AT ALL and was so clumsy and embarrassed by everything it got annoying; she finally develops a backbone but it was too little too late for me. Still a cute, clean story but not amazing for me.
