This is a fast paced, fun read full of twist and turns. It took me just over an hour and I really enjoyed it. It had my heart pounding, and I wanted more! Definitely will be reading more from Kait!

Quick easy read. Just wish it was longer/more in depth. I loved the concept of the Vampire Mafia, and wish this had been a full-length novel. Also my first time reading Ballenger. I loved her style and will plan to read more from her.

Dani Harper is still recovering from an abusive relationship, but when her brother Quinn requests her help she willingly goes back to the supernatural world of vampire mafia lord Corbin Blackwell, leaving her dead-end diner waitress job for the glamorous façade of being Corbin's mistress.

This novella has many familiar tropes - the delicate human heroine to whom bad things happen because she is just so beautiful and looks so innocent, even though she lets Corbin get away with a lot right away. The alpha male vampire with his "touch her and die" attitude and self-hatred.

Dani and Corbin act like teenagers with their angst and drama and various body parts getting hard all the time. What they do not do is talk to each other, choosing instead to keep things secret, things that come back to mess up their plans and hurt their feelings exactly as we know they will.

The writing isn't polished, the descriptions aren't detailed, and many parts needed an editor because they get repetitive. For example, a character is described as "the Greek" several times, Dani bursts into tears several times, Corbin tells himself he can't have her several times, Dani says she is going to get her revenge several times . . . you get the drift. Considering this is a 100 page novella, I would expect there to be less repetition.

All in all, there is very little to separate The Vampire's Hunter to hundreds of other, better written vampire and human love stories.

This book had my heart pounding. Dani is used, betrayed and abused but in the end she is triumphant. Loved reading her story.

I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I did not love this book. It felt very juvenile. The writing is odd. It jumps from the typical old timing vampire talk to having actual smiley face emojis after a sentence. The book also feels very rushed. I personally would not read it again.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This reads okay as a stand alone. I did feel as if I was missing some back story. This is relatively short-a novella, its only 140 pages. This has a lot in it...revenge, unrequited love, vampires, mafia. There are lots of surprises, and things are not what they seem. This was an interesting read. I did really like Corbin. 3.5 stars I think most paranormal romance readers will enjoy this book.

Vampires, vampire hunters, obsession, betrayal - and painful longing all ties up with action and revenge. And since revenge is best served cold, who better to dish it out than the undead. Fast and engaging, with a bit of burning longing , fun for all vamp fans.

I was given an eARC of what I believe is a revamped vesion of this book due out on July 31st. It was a quick fun read! I think it would have been even better if it was a little longer.

I'm obsessed with Ballenger's cowboy werewolf series so when I saw this vampire romance from her, I knew I immediately wanted to read it.

What's a human to do when surrounded by the world of the supernatural? Dani knows all about that world, the good and the very bad. She's tried to stay away but when her estranged brother comes to her asking for help, she reluctantly agrees. If only because it means seeing Corbin again.

With this novella being split into two POVs, Dani's and Corbin's, we get both sides of this unrequited romance and both characters learn a lot about themselves and each other along the way.

“She survived. She endured. Whatever life threw at her.”

Dani Harper, a human, has two jobs. One at a diner and the other at a supernatural-only bar. While she may not be immortal, she has always felt like she fits into their world.

From cowboys, vampires, witches, sirens, revenge, and love. This book takes us on a journey where Dani’s brother Quinn requests for her help getting information from the mafia vampires.

Little does he know it’s not going to be as easy as it sounds, especially when revenge is involved. Lines tend to get blurred when you pretend to be the mistress of someone powerful.

With past trauma, heartbreak, and love. Dani must make some hard decisions. Will she help her brother? Will she get her revenge? Or will she find love once and for all?
