This is a great book for my students to read. Mystery, romance, personal growth, ethical issues to discuss, political and social issues to discuss all in a well written easy to read, which my students appreciate. As an adult I found it charming and interesting as well. I liked the friendship of the two main characters, the family, Irene and her boyfriend and the extended family that was created

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, the concept was interesting, the three main characters likeable and realistic and it was easy to read. It got a bit overly long at the end and some of the political views, which i agree with, were not very integrated into the story, some were, given who the main characters were. would read the next book in the series, so yes enjoyed it

I loved Missing Clarissa and The Other Lola by Ripley Jones didn’t disappoint!
A captivating YA mystery that hooked me and kept me flipping those pages.
Missing Clarissa is a heart-pounding-palms-sweating-making-me-hold-my-breath as I turn the page of the (e)book. Incredibly riveting and certainly a book that’ll suck you right in until you’ve read it in its entirety in a singular sitting.
I really enjoyed the characters in this. I thought they were interesting main characters and I really enjoyed their narrative.
The plot was intricate and cleverly thought out.
This is one of the best YA mystery's I have read in a long time. It was so hard to put down.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the opportunity to read this ahead of its publication date in return for my honest review.

THE OTHER LOLA by Ripley Jones is just as good as her first in the series (I hope), MISSING CLARISSA.

Cameron and Blair, now seniors in high school are approached by a lowly freshman, Mattie Brosillard to find out what’s going on with her sister, Lola. Lola has miraculously returned home after being gone for five years with this crazy story about how she was kidnapped and has been traveling around the country since as a hostage with her abductors. Mattie’s not buying it. But her mother and brother, Lola’s twin seem to be swallowing this fish story hook, line and sinker.

After the events of their success in learning the truth about the disappearance of Clarissa and the subsequent fallout, the girls swore to themselves and their parents that they would never do another podcast. What had started as a school assignment had almost gotten them killed. Blair, who dreams of being a writer is all in in looking into Lola but Cameron, who just wants a quiet senior year is definitely NOT interested in getting involved. But of course, the girls get sucked into the mystery.

I enjoyed this one but wish that there was a bit more about the backstory of the fallout from the first. It IS a standalone I think but I hope we will see more of Blair, Cameron and their families. After all, there’s still four more years of college, right? With technology the way it is, I don’t even think these two would need to be in the same room to get up to something!

Thank you to Netgalley and Wednesday Books for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily. 4.5 stars rounded up.

The sequel to Ripley Jones's Missing Clarissa! Yeah!

I jumped at the chance to see what Cameron and Blair would get up to next. Where we last left them, they had experienced fame from their podcast as they received far too many negative emails and messages. Promising each other no more podcasts or mysteries, they start their senior year.

But when Mattie approaches Blair, she simply cannot say no.

Mattie's sister Lola disappeared more than 5 years ago and was never found...until now. However, Mattie believes The Lola in her house is an imposter. Soon the duo are at it again. This was a perfect follow up book - the plot and the pace were believable. It was easy to once again root for Cam and Blair to pull it off.

This is the sequel to Missing Clarissa I'd recommend reading these books in order to pick up on the full story and background on Cam & Blair.
It was an interesting concept Ripley Jones choose to write how getting involved in a true crime case affects you & what that can do to a person. A modern fictional account of solving a missing persons cas

Mattie knows that girl who has shown up at her house after 5 years missing is not her real sister Lola. For some reason though no one else can see it, not her mother, brother or Lola’s best friend. So she asks for help from Blair and Cam who solved Clarissa’s case last year. As the all embark on unwrapping the mystery about Lola they will have to deal with PTSD, unraveling emotions and finding ways to protect the family you choose. Aa great quick read that had you engaged from page one.

The Other Lola is the sequel to one of my all-time YA thriller faves, Missing Clarissa!

In Missing Clarissa, high school students Cam and Blair solve a twenty-year-old cold case and become accidentally podcast-famous in the process. They've been traumatized by the investigation and are exhausted by the online harassment they've faced, so they agree they are retired from sleuthing... until Mattie Brosillard comes along. Mattie's sister, Lola, vanished five years ago and has suddenly reappeared -- but Mattie is convinced this Lola is an imposter and is desperate for Cam and Blair to help them prove it.

I was super excited to return to the world of Cam and Blair. They are two of my favorite teenage girl characters ever - smart, brave, funny, and fiercely loyal to each other, even when they disagree. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoyed MC -- but definitely read that first or some things won't make a ton of sense (and because it's amazing)!

The Other Lola continues where Missing Clarissa left us. Blair and Cam are facing personal challenges after what they experienced in the first book. A teen named Mattie comes to them for help claiming that their sister, Lola, who was missing for 5 year and mysteriously returned, is not actually their sister. Blair and Cam debate assisting Mattie, but end up helping them find out what really happened to Lola.

This was much more of a slow burn than the first book. It dealt with a lot of the emotional and mental trauma that Cam and Blair experienced in the first book. It appears they did learn some lessons and I appreciate how involved Irene is in their lives. Overall, this was a good story but all of the action was in the last 20% of the book. The first chunk was more plot building and slow development.

This is a captivating sequel that delves deeper into the world of Cam and Blair, the dynamic duo we first met in "Missing Clarissa." This book is a solid 4-star read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

In this installment, Cam and Blair, having sworn off mysteries and the chaos that comes with them, are drawn back into the world of enigmatic disappearances when Mattie Brosillard seeks their help. Mattie's sister, Lola, vanished without a trace five years ago, and now she's returned, but Mattie is convinced that something is amiss. The book cleverly explores the theme of trust, forcing readers to question who they can rely on when the ones they love the most are involved in a web of secrets.

The characters in "The Other Lola" are well-drawn and relatable, with Camm and Blair at the forefront. Their complex relationship and the aftermath of their previous mystery make for compelling reading. The addition of Mattie, with her determination and desperation, adds depth to the narrative.

Ripley Jones excels at building tension and creating a sense of unease. The story is filled with twists and turns that will leave you constantly reevaluating your theories about what happened to Lola. The author also skillfully weaves in elements of family dynamics and the consequences of delving into the unknown.

One of the highlights of this book is the writing style. Jones has a knack for a crafting vivid descriptions and maintaining a fast-paced narrative. The dialogue is engaging, and the story flows smoothly, making it easy to become immersed in the world of the Brosillard family.

While this is engaging and suspenseful read, I'm giving it four stars instead of five because there were moments when the plot felt a bit too convoluted, and some of the character motivations were a tad unclear. However, these minor issues didn't detract significantly from my overall enjoyment of the book.

In conclusion, this was a worthy sequel that successfully builds on the foundation laid in "Missing Clarissa". If you enjoy mysteries with well-drawn characters and a healthy dose of suspense, this book is worth adding to your reading list. Ripley Jones continues to deliver an intriguing and thought-provoking story that will keep you hooked until the final page.

Thank you, Netgalley, for this ARC. I have read "Missing Clarissa" from the same author. Although that book was a bit of a miss for me, this one was not. I love Cam and Blair's friendship and their shared protectiveness over Mattie. There were moments where I thi k they could have made better decisions, but I guess it's all part of the plot. This book is a great read and I would totally recommend it to those who love YA mysteries.

Blair and Cameron! Oh how I’ve missed them and their true crime solving selves. We pick up with the girls after their game from finding Clarissa and Mattie comes into their life. Mattie is a spitfire that is for sure the Lola that has came back in her life isn’t her missing sister. This was a quick read with lots of fun, quirkiness and sometimes a few political jabs. I believe that everyone needs a Brad and iRene in their lives it made me want to hug my own parents. Overall a great mystery I enjoyed it! Can’t wait to see what Blair and Cameron get into next.

The Other Lola by Ripley Jones is a riveting tale that wastes no time in delivering its impact. This quick, sharp, and straight-to-the-jugular narrative captivated me from start to finish.

The sequel to Ripley Jones's unforgettable YA thriller Missing Clarissa, The Other Lola is about what happens when the people you love the most are the people you can trust the least.

Missing Clarissa was great. This was perfectly fine. A good follow-up, but perhaps an unnecessary one.

Blair and Cam are done with podcasts and mysteries after Missing Clarissa. Soon though, a young girl, Mattie finds them and asks for help finding her sister. Lola vanished five years ago and suddenly has come home. But even though no one believes Mattie, she knows that this girl is not her sister.
But why would her mother and brother believe this is Lola? Could Mattie have been too young to really remember her sister. There is something off in this family’s house, but just what is really going on?
I went back-and-forth between believing Mattie, and then I was 100% positive she was wrong. Besides this mystery, Cam and Blair are still dealing with the fallout from last year and struggling to know what their futures hold.
This didn’t grab me as much as the first book, but it was still interesting to see how Blair and Cam had changed. I was super surprised at how it ended. I can’t say more because of spoilers, but I definitely expected a different conclusion. 3.5 stars.

thank you netgalley and st. martin's press for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!!!

i liked this one much more than i liked missing clarissa, the first one in this series (is it a series?). i think the plot was a lot more intriguing and unique, i was genuinely interested in figuring out what happened and it also wasn't predictable the way missing clarissa was for me.

now lets talk about the characters. i didn't like cam in the first book and i didn't like her here either. she was a bit better.... but not much. i understand her character. i understand why she is the way she is and why she does certain things. but it is simply not enjoyable to read about. i wish there had been a further dive into her ptsd because i think it could have changed my mind on her. she is a very stagnant character to me, there was no development between the last book and this one for me. blair on the other hand is quite forgettable. she isn't irritating and frustrating like cam, but she's just sort of.... there.

i think this author does a decent job at plotting and creating interesting mysteries, but the characters involved leave much to be desired.

it was an easy read and for the most part not agonizing, which i can say is a step up from the last one.

I liked this just as much as the first book. The author has a really nice writing style that just flows and makes you want to keep reading. Perfect for young adults.

This was an interesting concept but not as compelling as the first one. Mostly bc Cam and Blair spent way too much time apart and I happen to adore their friendship.

Mattie is the heart of the story and I wish we spent more time with them, understanding them, etc. Everything felt just a little too rushed. This one also abandons a podcast and is told in letters to various people.

I think the writer is talented and deciding on a format (podcast Nancy Drew's is one!) While exploring how Blair and Cam navigate this transition in their lives out of HS would be interesting. Maybe they can come to the East Coast and put an end to Joe Goldberg? There's a lot to explore here and I'm invested in the characters so even if new ones come in on the authors next book, I'll be there.

Cam and Blair are back! They swore they would keep their heads down and not solve another mystery. They promised to not bring any attention to themselves until Mattie approaches them with a mystery that is too enticing to pass up. Suddenly they are thrown into a new mystery to solve. But no podcasts this time. Mattie’s sister, Lola, who disappear years earlier is all of a sudden back. But Mattie swears this isn’t the real Lola. They believe this new Lola is hiding her true identity. Now both Cam and Blair need to help Mattie uncover the truth. Will they figure our who Lola really is? Or is there more to this story that meets the eye?

What I enjoyed:
- once again I love the friendship between Cam and Blair. These two are just adorable and are total friendship goals!
- Fast paced and had me guessing the whole time. I was up and down over who Lola really was. Was she the real Lola or an imposter?
- LGBTQ+ representation. Mattie was a great new character as well.
- The twist!

Overall, a fun and fast read! I think this one was better than the first one. This book is perfect for any fan of YA thriller/mysteries. 4 stars out of 5! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
