Another great read! Thank you NetGalley for another awesome ARC! I cannot say much since this book has not been published yet. It had great twists and turns and that ending!! 🤯 I loved that it was set in Florida - Winter Haven and Lakeland to be exact. This novel takes you done the road of the lives of the privileged and the lengths they go to hide their darkest secrets. If you like a good thriller that sticks it to the rich who think they are untouchable, look no further! The Nurse is an awesome book full of thrills and chills. Jenna Kernan captures the heat in Florida, the dividing lines between the haves and the have nots, and what old money can cover-up.

What a ripper of a book! Jenna Kernan is an awesome writer of brilliant thrillers that have you questioning what’s going on right up until the last page. The Nurse was no exception, I really loved it, and very much look forward to reading the next book.
Unfortunately I had to really force myself to read the first half of this book but the second half was so worth it! The twist at the end was great! 3.5⭐️
I couldn’t put this book down! Emily gets hired to take care of Dr. Roth’s wife who is mentally ill. Emily doesn’t know if she can trust Dr. Roth or his wife. I couldn’t believe the twists in this book. I couldn’t even believe how it ended. I honestly wasn’t expecting the ending. I would love if they turned this into a movie or even a lifetime movie. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Jenna. Thank you NetGalley, Jenna and Bookouture for the ARC!
Synopsis (from Netgalley, the provider of the book for me to review.)
*********************************************************
Can you start right away?” I can hear the desperation in Dr Roth’s voice. He’s longing for someone to look after his poor, sick wife Sabrina in their perfect Florida home. The job pays an awful lot. And I really need the money. As long as they don’t ask too many questions…
I spend my days by Sabrina’s side. She has everything money could buy – a luxurious home, a handsome, doting husband who would do anything for her. I hate cleaning up her mess, picking her designer clothes off the floor, and driving her to the golf club. I hate how she sneers at me, no matter what I do. But I have to remember why I’m really here.
Dr Roth has made it clear I have to make sure she takes her medication. Because if she doesn’t, there’s hell to pay. Three times a day, I count her sedative pills carefully. Sabrina rambles about the death of a child. About a terrible accident. Dr Roth shakes his head sadly. Delusions are a heartbreaking symptom of his wife’s illness, he says.
But when Dr Roth leaves the house, Sabrina becomes more clear-headed. She tells me she’s done something terrible. And that her husband is lying. He keeps her trapped because of what she did. And I’m the only one who can help her escape.
Can I believe the words of a woman suffering from delusions? Or is Dr Roth not as trustworthy as he seems? Someone is lying. And if the Roths find out why I’m really here, this could take a deadly turn…
An unbelievably gripping psychological thriller with a mind-blowing twist that will have you flipping the pages deep into the night. Fans of The Doctor’s Wife, The Perfect Marriage and The Surgeon won’t be able to put this down!
A great thriller that will keep you entertained for hours as you try to figure out what is going on – you will be surprised, for sure, as it is really twisty and turny right up to the end of the book. Who can you trust? Her or him? A great read and you will be shocked more than once at the direction the story goes to and I will highly recommend it to my thriller-novel clientele. #shortbutsweetreviews
P.S. Pie in the diner tonight? Yes, please.
Although this has a slow build up, I did find it entertaining. I read it in one sitting because I just needed to know how it would end. Still, the ending was not what I was expecting and I loved it.
OK wow! This was a phenomenal story. Right at the beginning, chapter 1, I was hooked. Very mysterious, with twists and turns you do not see coming. I had to keep turning pages to find out what would happen next. The story is, Emily , finished her nursing degree, answers to a job that is perfect for her. It pays very well and she has to get this job.
The job: to be the nurse of a women who has mental disabilities.
The woman is Sabrina, very wealthy and married to a very well known Psychiatrist, Dr. Roth. Dr Roth is very protective of his wife, he's so doting, loving and gentle. He just wants the best for her .
This job is demanding but Emily needs it so she will follow everything Dr Roth asks of her.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Highly recommend this one!
For the last 40% of this book I was hooked. I found it exciting, and compelling. The plot moved along fast and the end! It was so twisty and I found myself not quite sure how it was going to end. Unfortunately, the first 60% of this book I found very slow. I had to really force myself to read it and found myself not really invested in the characters. 3.5/5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an arc for The Nurse! I will admit this was a slow start for me and it did take me awhile to get into. I did find it predictable and although it isn't one of my favorite thrillers this year I would still say it's worth the read. I wouldn't read this particular book again but I would be interested in Jenna Kernan's other works!

Absolutely loved every second of this book. My expectations were blown out of the water and I felt myself not putting it down for long before I needed to pick it back up and read more.
The Nurse by Jenna Kernan is an Intense physiological thriller with secrets, lies, and deception. As the characters backgrounds are revealed, the story becomes more frightening and much darker. A truly engrossing and intriguing read. Absolutely surprised by the outcome. First book that I read by Ms Kernan and an definately will be looking forward to reading more of books.

This book genuinely surprised me, I never knew where the story was going. I kept thinking it was going one way but I got to the end and what a twist! I really like the way this book was written, very descriptive. I felt like I was there with how everything was described. The characters were great, I love a little revenge.. I highly recommend this book and thank you for allowing me to read it early!
Thank you for the ARC !
This book kept me guessing the entire time, I had no idea who to believe ! I was definitely surprised by the ending. Definitely recommend this book!
All I have to say is wow….. I was hooked from the first page! I can’t wait to read more from this author. So much suspense and twists and turns.
The Nurse had me from the very first page but felt very slow, that was until about the 50% mark. It was a fantastic read. I was actually gobsmacked by the last page! Oh so masterful!
Our protagonist Emily is fresh out of nursing school when she lands a job working for a rich psychologist and his mentally unstable wife. Once she starts, Emily wonders if she's not just dealing with her wife's mental illness, but something much more sinister.
This author does an incredible job of making you feel like you're right next to Emily trying to figure out the mystery. It was exciting and had me guessing the entire time. (I really thought I had it all figured out.) And then... it shifts.
I was originally going to give it 4 stars, just because of Emily's decision making, and its slow paste, but the overall experience and ending made up for it.
I was given an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review! Easy 5 stars!
A captivating domestic thriller full of lies, deceit, and secrets. I was kept guessing to the very end. Suspenseful with finance characters you're not sure you can trust.

What an incredibly addicting psychological thriller! This book will have your head spinning. You’ll be questioning the characters and trying to figure out what the truth is. What is real? What is imagined? Who can be trusted?
The more you read, the darker and more disturbing it gets! The twists just keep coming. When you finally get to read from Sabrina’s point of view so much clicks into place! This book had me gasping several times and there’s twist after twist! Such an engaging story that blew my mind again and again!
Thank you so much Bookouture and NetGalley for the early gifted copy!
A fast paced well written thriller with good twists and interesting characters which kept me involved in the storyline.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the e-arc in exchange for review. The Nurse was a quick-paced thriller. There were, of course, twists that I didn’t see coming in the end, and others that I felt would happen. As a registered nurse, I did find some of the medical-related content to be a bit off-the-mark, but overall this was a fast and enjoyable read.
