I wanted to love this so much, and on paper it sounded just like my sort of book.
But I found it very slow, and should have DNFed it in all honestly when I twigged I wasn't fully enjoying it. However by that stage I had read so much of it, that I thought I should finish.
The last perhaps 25% or so did improve, but i've just reached the ending and even that fell flat for me.
Seemed to take forever to get going there were some intriguing plot lines right towards the end especially but I feel like I haven't had any resolution.
Just didn't work for me I'm afraid. Sorry.

This was an uplifting and poignant read and had me laughing one minute and shedding a tear the next and was a story of how love and hope and friendships can come out of grief and how things are always better with friends.

This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and gifted author. Widows in a grief group. They decide to get together outside of the group. Wine and widows. The characters move this story quickly. Good one.

This was utterly charming, like a warm cup of herbal tea when it’s cold. The characters were full of warmth and throughly enjoyable to spend some time with

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to receive this book for a positive review.
I had such high hopes about this book. I found it to be a little slow. It dragged on for me and did not keep me interested.
I will not let this deter me from trying other books by this author.

Three women meet at a group for newly bereaved widows. They think they have seen each other before- which they have inadvertently at the undertakers. On seeing that the club is full of fusty women playing cards they quickly head out for a coffee and so begins friendship. They have new lives to navigate and something to fill the hole that was their husband in one way or another. This tells of their adventures, of meeting new friends, of dating and so much more.
I really enjoyed this. There’s a camaraderie between the pages and even in the difficult times that sense of pick me up and someone there, even if they don’t quite see eye to eye, which I feel most will understand. There’s a sense of fun and humour, it's a book to lift the spirits and see the good in the world and the importance sometimes of friends who can take a step back and see the picture slightly differently. Of life and love, of hope and laughter. A wonderful tonic of a read I highly recommend
