OMG! This was the creepiest Frieda MacFadden book I’ve read so far! I’m thankful for the short chapters which allowed me to come up for air and I’m thankful it’s over as my heart was pounding until the very last twist. A successful surgeon, Dr. Nora Davis is the daughter of a serial killer who has been imprisoned since Nora was eleven years old. Yet all these years later, there is suddenly a copy cat murderer that has Nora frightened and confused. Ms. MacFadden did a great job in creating characters that each could have been responsible for the murders. The twists kept coming until the final crescendo! Thank you NetGalley, Hollywood Upstairs Press and Frieda MacFadden for the opportunity to read this heart pounding thriller in exchange for my honest review.

This book was first published in 2021 but unfortunately did not stick with me. The plot seemed familiar to me but I could not remember the ending at all. I looked at my Goodreads and I gave it a 3/5 stars but again the storyline did not stick with me.

Another great hit! This one is full of suspense and not once did I ever figure it out. The twists were great and shocking. The amount of detail was amazing. The characters were well written and the plot was enthralling. You feel as if you are really there watching all of this happen.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Nora is a surgeon. She’s also the daughter of a serial killer, the ‘handyman’. Her father has been in prison for 26 years and Nora has had no contact in that time. When her patients start being found murdered in the style of her father’s victims, she is a suspect. Who can she trust and who is trying to set her up.
Wow what a journey. I was convinced so many times is worked out who it was, only to be wrong each time. This book is told by Nora’s point of view. It flashes between present day and back to the days before her father was caught. The suspense was built slowly but I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put this book down. Absolutely loved it.

Another sharp, twisty psychological thriller from McFadden. The story focuses on Nora Davis, a successful surgeon who has spent her life trying to escape her family history…even going so far as to change her name. Of course, if your father was a notorious serial killer, you would probably do the same.
Nora discovers one of her female patients has been murdered in the same unique manner that her father used on his victims. She must decide whether or not to confront her past and the fear that she may have inherited more than she ever wanted from her father.
As with McFadden’s previous books, “The Locked Door” is a fast-paced and addictive read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twists and surprises never disappoint.

Frieda McFadden knows how to write a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Dr. Nora Davis is a surgeon who has kept her real identity a secret for 26 years. However, her patients are ending up killed with their hands cut off. The same m.o. used by her father before he was sent to prison. As far as she knows, he is still locked up paying for his crimes. Nora has to solve who is killing these women before she becomes the #1 suspect.
This book was such a quick and easy read. I thought I knew where it was going but I was so wrong. I didn't even see the twist coming. I'm usually good at figuring out who the killers are, but I was pleasantly surprised with the reveal. If you want a thriller that will keep you guessing to the very end I highly recommend this book!

This was my first Frieda McFadden book….and wow am I impressed.
I love thriller books but I can get bored very easily if it’s not the right one. However, I finished this book so fast I don’t even remember if I had dinner or not. My peepers were glued to these pages that not even a 4 year old could peel me off.
I swore I knew where this was going and I swore I knew who was the culprit, who was good and who was evil…and boy was I wrong. I could practically feel myself in the car with Nora on that night when she was being followed. The way this author writes has you engulfed in the story 100% of the time.
I can’t wait to continue my journey of Frieda McFadden books

This page-turner kept me guessing until the end. I did not see the final plot twist coming. I found myself completely invested. There was something about Nora’s character that pulled me in and I wanted to dive in to uncover her many layers. I was intrigued by Nora. She’s the perfectly dislikable character that you can’t help but like.
This is a fast-paced thriller with short chapters and tons of red herrings. The writing style is easy to get into and the tension and suspense make this the perfect book to devour in one-day.

Well, locked doors are locked for a reason! This new Freida McFadden’s latest release is another fix to my, so far growing addiction of FMF.
Nora Davis is a known surgeon that is well loved in the operating room, she is quick, fast and very efficient as a great surgeon is expected to be. Nora Davis kept a 26 year old secret that no one in her present life knew. Nora Davis was once an eleven year old named Nora Nierling, daughter of the the serial killer who was called the HandyMan because he severed hands of his victims. At present, Nora’s well kept is haunting her as two deaths are found and both coincidentally were her patients and has the same cookie cutter signature of her father’s work and Nora was a suspect. Was she the doctor who actually saved lives under the knife or was she guilty for something else that she can be very capable of?
This book has the psychotic thriller and suspense that was expected from FMF. The ability to keep readers guessing all the while maintaining the interest from page one to the last. There was the underlying story that all the suspense was built upon. The characters seem to all have motives and it is very confusing which character to pick a side on. So what else tends to be the icing on a cake for a FMF book? The twist. Yes, there is always one and this was where I was having a hard time reconciling. I love to follow breadcrumbs of clues that lead to easter eggs plenty enough to build a basket of great reveal. For some reason, I did not get that. It felt short and rushed and I wished there could have been more spark than what I got.
However, my too high of an expectation does not make the book any less entertaining. It was fast, the buildup was good and we found a killer!
Special thank you to Poisoned Press via Netgalley for the advance copy to review.

“The Locked Door” By Freida McFadden
📕 Edition: ebook & Audiobook
This was my first Freida McFadden read, and it was a fantastic ride! From the moment I started, I found myself completely absorbed in the story.
Nora's life takes a dark and twisted turn, as secrets from her past come back to haunt her. The suspense kept me on the edge, and the unexpected twists at the end left me stunned. 😱
McFadden's storytelling skills were top-notch; she skillfully weaves a chilling narrative that makes you question every character's motives. The complexity of the plot and the characters' hidden depths make for an unforgettable reading experience.
It was also set in Oregon, which is always fun to read books set in your hometown area, even though it doesn't mention any specific places other than the airport. ✈️🏔️🌊🌲
It's a gripping, suspenseful tale that'll keep you guessing until the very last page. 🔑🚪

Thank you to NetGalley for my eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Frieda has done it again! This book was fast-paced, suspenseful, and had a few unexpected twists. I loved reading from the perspective of the serial killers daughter. I feel like some thrillers can be similar but I have not read one like this! I found this book to be easy to read and hard to put down.
I highly recommend reading The Locked Door! Perfect for a suspenseful, quick read before Halloween!
The Locked Door is out now.

Frieda Mcfadden is truly amazing when it comes to fast-paced thrillers. I always want to turn my page and see what happens next!

Freida McFadden does it again!
What a rollercoaster of a book. Every time I thought I knew something, something else happened entirely. I’ll never comprehend how Freida McFadden writes thrillers so perfectly. They’re effortless, easy and quick reads. There’s always enough information to keep you guessing and keep you invested in the story. Each of her books always leaves me with my jaw on the floor.
I loved the characters, how they all intertwined with one another. I enjoyed the flashbacks to Nora’s childhood too. They helped us learn more about her at a very crucial turning point of her life.
I really really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it to those looking for a good thriller to read!

I simply love any of Freida McFadden books that it is difficult to pick my favorite one. I really love the writing style, development of characters, suspense and pulse stopping action throughout the book. I highly recommend any of Freida McFadden books. I enjoyed the Suspense, surprises and twists along the way. I can not wait until the next one- The Teacher. I truly liked her most recent book, The Coworker as well. Looking forward to many more psychological thriller suspense books to come. Maybe more Housemaid books?

I give this book 4 stars. I was intrigued by the summary and sucked in upon opening the cover. I have read many of Freida McFadden's books but not all have been as well written as this one. Definitely get yourself comfortable for a long setting because you'll not want to put it down.

This is a classic Freida McFadden thriller with multiple plot twists and a quick pace. I really enjoyed this one, as it reminded me of the TV show, Prodigal Son, a bit. I always like how you van guess what might be going on in these books but it's hard to guess the exact twist. 3.5 stars

When I saw that Freida had release yet another psychological thriller - The Locked Door- about a prominent surgeon who happens to be the daughter of a notorious serial killer, I KNEW I had to read it. The description alone was enough to hook me.
Narrated by the main character Nora, I was drawn into her story immediately. I could immediately tell she had many layers to her. Although she appears to be rather cold and really not all that likable, she also has a lot of depth and a mysterious past that she's hiding. I couldn't wait to find out more about her. Although I initially thought there was no way she had any involvement in 2 of her patients' deaths, the author does a good job of leading you to believe she just may. I enjoyed how the POV jumped between Nora's past and present as it helped develop her character in much needed ways. The tension and suspense continued to develop as the story went on and I was totally thrown by the twist.
As an avid thriller reader, I thought I knew where this book was headed but I was surely mistaken. I was very happy to be wrong in this instance.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Locked Door is filled with suspense and thrill, however I feel like the plot twist was being rushed too much. The good thing about it is the unpredictability of it all. I recommend this read for any Freida McFadden fans!

Oof, that plot twist got me 😮
Frieda McFadden is always a captivating read! It is full of suspense and quick chapters that keep you up reading “just one more” all night long. I love a mystery with an unreliable narrator. I *thought* I had this one figured out, but then was shocked at the end! Definitely a fun read (if you’re into serial killers I guess hah) and I’ll be coming back for more McFadden with her next novel.
Thank you to NetGalley for this readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

Freida does it again! I don't think there's a freida book I don't like. Love? That's another story. This wasn't a love, but definitely a like
