Thank you, Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press, for providing me a free ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What do you do when you're the daughter of a notorious serial killer and you're being framed by the copycat? This was my third novel I have read by author Freida McFadden, and I was not disappointed at all. This is yet another great physiological thriller that you can easily get sucked into. I think I might have found my "go-to" physiological thriller author cause the plot twists are just so good.

I've already caught on to Freida's writing style that the main character is keeping some obvious infractions of their life a secret. Great book, fun read. Reminded me a lot of Sam Hollands book "The Twenty". Glad this book didn't have turtles. Haha.

Freida McFadden is catching on life wildfire for good reason. Everything she writes is a keep you on the edge of your seat biter, and this is no exception. From the very beginning we’re sucked into a twisted tale where everything is suspicious and no one can really be trusted. I love a book with a good twist and this delivered. Repeatedly. Excellent read.

Freida’s books always keep you turning the page and The Locked Door is of no exception. This is a re-release from the author but it was a new read for me. I love how she keeps you guessing until the very end. Thank you to Freida, the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the advanced copy of this book!

The locked door completely changed towards the end! You would think what is happening the whole time until about 75 percent and everything changes! Frieda always writes great thriller books. This one has to be my top 3 favorite so far.

As is the case with most books I've read of hers, this was a fast paced thriller with the twists you'd expect from this author. Well done!

I enjoy reading thrillers and suspenseful novels, and this one did not disappoint. I was astonished when I realized who the killer was because I had initially assumed it was two different suspects. This book was great for a variety of reasons. I adored the brief concise chapters, I adored how quickly this tale moved along, and lastly I adored Nora's character growth more than I did that of the other characters. The one thing I would have liked to know more is Nora's early years. There are a good amount of things I want to know about Nora's upbringing and because of that, in my opinion, made that section of the story feel rushed.
I definitely would recommend reading The Locked Door. I'm extremely appreciative of NetGalley's ARC! My second Frieda McFadden novel, and it did not let me down!

This was typical Freida in the way that the twist didn't twist right until the end. It didn't disappoint, and the character development was great. There was a good amount of suspense and underlying story, which led to us thinking one thing, when the stuff going on in the background was out of sight and out of mind. I loved it and it goes on par with all other Freida reads.

I thought this book was written too simply and too blandly to be interesting. The story itself was compelling and had the opportunity to really lean into some of its darker threads, but ultimately fell way flat. I just didn’t enjoy her writing style.

Note: This book was given to me for a honest review from the Poisoned Pen Press, an imprint of Sourcebooks, Inc.
This is now my 4th read from Freida McFadden and as usual, it’s a thrilling popcorn read. I enjoy how quickly you’re able to get through her stories, yet every loose end is tied up neatly. She may very well be the Agatha Christie of thrillers.

This was a very interesting book. However it was very similar to a tv show called the Prodigal Son. It did have quite a few plot twists and kept me wanting to keep reading.
Thank you to NetGalley and Freida McFadden for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my review.

Definitely darrk and twisty. Not my favorite Frieda McFadden but she always creates a great thriller and of course I couldn’t put it down!

The Locked Door was an okay read. I really liked the concept but the ending was a little far fetched for me. I look forward to reading more from Freida McFadden.

The queen of twists does it again! 👏 I had so many theories throughout the entirely book and none of them were correct. I love a thriller that captures your attention, holds it the whole time, and completely surprises you. This book did that for me!

Another great Frieda book! Twists and turns kept me guessing and made me want to read more of her work. Definitely give this book a go!

For those who liked the housemaid this is just as good! Freida delivers again. The suspense and the chase are excellent and it’s so hard to find suspense plots that don’t end up as repetitive as each other and this is nothing like it. The family connection and what you don’t expect are incredible

In full disclosure, I’m a huge fan of Frieda McFadden. I enjoy the pace of her books and her twists. However, The Locked Door missed the mark for me in the end. I thought that the premise was interesting and the book had an incredible build up, but I felt like the ending didn’t make sense and was a little far fetched. I guess that’s what made it unpredictable, but I was not a fan.

Nora, a successful surgeon, is the daughter of a well known serial killer. When patients of Nora's are found dead, in the same way her father killed his victims, Nora becomes a suspect. This book moves at a fast pace, and there are some minor plot holes. Looking back now, it should have been obvious how the story was going to end, but I was determined to figure it out myself, I missed it. Not one of Freida's best, but still good.

This was a really good book. It made me question who to believe at times and what was true.
Definitely a winner by Freida McFadden.

Thank you NetGallery and Poisoned Pen Press for this ARC
This book will make me read another one of Ms. McFadden's stories! I did not like the "The Housemaid's Secret" series. However, this book made me change my mind about her writing.
Freida McFadden's "The Locked Door" centers around Dr. Nora Davis, the daughter of the notorious serial killer Aaron Nierling. 26 years after his arrest and conviction, young women start to disappear again that fit her fathers and are murdered similarly. The two young women who turn up dead are connected to Nora, leading police to believe she is the main suspect. Is she her father's protege? You start to wonder with her dual POVs. The story is told from her POV from when she was 11 years old leading up to the day her father was arrested and the present day, where Nora struggles to maintain the life and the identity she has built for herself.
Nora is a layered character. As a child, you see her grappling with feeling like she doesn't quite fit in that she is different from other girls her age. She struggles with wanting to maintain friendships and desires she doesn't understand. As an adult, she has kept herself guarded at times too guarded. She hasn't allowed herself to enjoy the life and career she has built for herself.
The book was well written. I, however, wished it was longer. The ending was wrapped up very quickly. It could have been a few more chapters to flesh it out more. Plenty of twists and turns and red herrings kept me on my toes throughout the book.
