Actually give this 4 1/2 stars. This was so enjoyable. Kept me on the edge of my chair the whole time. The chapters are short The main character, Nora, has many layers to her. This book had me guessing and wondering the whole time. Timeline alternates between present and Nora's childhood and was done very well. I did not see the plot twist coming in this psychological thriller. Thanks to NeGgalley for sending me the ebook ARC for my honest review.

I read this book so fast. This was my third book by this author and I can already tell you that this will not be the last, in fact im working my way through the rest of her books. The twist I didn't see coming. I actually gasped and I was on the phone with someone and he was very much worried about my well being. I love this book, can't wait for more.

How do you leave your past behind when your father was killing women in your house when you were a child? You don't when the past comes back to haunt you because you are now a suspect in a murder. I really enjoyed this book and the twists that had me reading into the night!

4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I thoroughly enjoyed this book for many reasons! I loved the short, quick chapters, the fast pacing of this story, and the character development of each of the characters!
Nora Davis is the daughter of a notorious serial killer dubbed "the handyman." Her father told her he was working in the basement, but he was actually killing women in their basement. She has since moved on, become a surgeon, and changed her name, hoping no one knows that she is related to a deadly killer imprisoned for life for his crimes.
Her world is rocked when a copycat killer begins killing women she has seen in her medical practice in the same manner of her father.
Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

The Locked Door revolves around surgeon Nora. She keeps herself to herself with just work and home. She has no significant other or any pets etc. the reason being is that Nora’s father is a serial killer called The Handyman. She doesn’t want to let anyone in and no one knows her true identity and surname. She’s getting by until two of her patients turn up dead - and both have had their hands severed like her father used to do. Who’s the copycat?…

The Locked Door is a super quick read by Freida McFadden. The writing kept me interested all throughout the story and the ending didn't disappoint. Another twisty psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the Advance Review Copy.

I love this author! She is amazing at leaving little breadcrumbs throughout the story to make you think one way. She is also the best at including small details to make sure her ending is plausible. I appreciate full-circle and well-thought out stories which is why I like her writing style.

I would recommend to readers that like mystery thrillers with twists and turns. I don't like really gory or violent stories on or off the screen and I was able to read this.

Wow this book sucked me in! I loved Nora’s narration, the dual timelines, & the short chapters with its fast pace. And I was not expect that twist, though I thought I’d figured it out. Thank you, Freida McFadden, for proving me wrong! And thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

I’ve never found a Freida McFadden book i don’t like.
Her written style keeps you hooked, but is easy and fun to read. I always have a good time.

By the end of the Locked Door. i had so many different theories on who was killing the girls and truly the one that was the killer wasn’t even on my radar! It was definitely a twist i didn’t see coming but i truly did enjoy the ending and the second epilogue had my jaw dropped.

definitely recommend.

4⭐️ | this was a good Freida book, nothing obvious and kept me wanting to read more and more. The whole premise was interesting because you already know her dad is in prison and what he did. So when shit starts getting crazy, you’re like wtf is actually happening. You even start to doubt the main character. I listened to this and the narrators performance was rough to listen to. I would recommend reading this one.

I love that I was immediately gripped by the story. I liked that there were a number of paths for my mind to take on who I thought the murderer could be and it could change from one moment the next. The twist at the end got me! I’ll definitely be reading more of Freida McFaddens works.

Say what you want about Freida McFadden but she knows how to writing a freaking thriller!!
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and couldn't slam my finger fast enough on my Kindle to get to the ending.
I read The Locked Door in less than 24 hours. 😅
It was an intense page-turner and I loved every second of nail-biting nervousness I got from this book!
My only issue was that I predicted who the killer was so that plot twist fell a bit flat for me.
I've already picked up another McFadden book to read, so if you need any incentive to pick up one of her books, know that I can't keep to put them down!

Special thanks to NetGalley for the advanced audiobook of 'The Locked Door' by Freida McFadden. The Locked Door is yet another book by McFadden that is written in the voice of an extremely ignorant and dull-witted female. While, I did not see the twist at the end coming, I just can not read another book where the main character is a brainless female.

Nora was 12 when her father and mother were arrested for horrible murders of young women. Her father was sent to prison for life and her mother committed suicide. Nora was then raised by her grandmother and went on to school to become a successful surgeon. 26 years later she is a surgeon and has a successful practice with her partner Philip. Life is great and she has not even thought of her past until two of her patients end up dead and their hands are found severed which was the signature of her father when he killed young women. Who is responsible for these copy cat crimes and why are they trying to frame
Nora for these murders. Who wants to bring up the past and cause problems? Great book. Read this one in less than a day! Need to check out some more by this author.
