Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for giving me an e-arc in exchange for a fair review.
I really enjoyed this graphic novel about Murry and Jacob, though I think I would have preferred to have owned a physical copy, as I felt the art work was pixellated at times on my tablet (my issue I believe). However the research the author has completed is a testiment to the truth, honest and reality that they wanted to portray. I felt it lost something by being so short - but I love anything that is longer in length so that I can sink my teeth into it. I would have loved a follow up, but who knows it may still happen?
For honesty, I have rated this 3.5 on Storygraph, however I would give it 4 stars over 3 stars any day ^_^
This one was just alright. I am a fan of this artists work, but the story fell flat for me. It is what it is.
Cuckoos Three is a beautiful and important story that doesn't shy away from heavier subjects - and does them justice. I loved the story, but I also really, really adored the art style, I feel like it added so much emotion and weight, in a sense.
A wonderful read.
The art style in this was absolutely gorgeous and it was so refreshing to see art/read something written by Cassandra Jean, as I was introduced to her work through the Shadowhunters series. Absolutely stunning
Thank you so much for the ARC of this short-but-sweet graphic novel! Overall I enjoyed it, I thought the mental illness and queer representation was great, and the story as well as the character's relationship was very sweet. However, I do wish it was longer so that things could be explored more in-depth and readers can feel more attached to the story, the characters, and their relationship.
This was amazing, it took me a while to review it but wow this was truly incredible. Life got busy but this was refreshing 🫶
A beautiful, touching story with a lot of heart and wonderful characters. The art was lovely and perfectly suited to the world it was building. Would definitely recommend!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
Okay Okay, I’m going to out myself… I read a LOT of WEBTOONS (also manhwa). When I received this arc (shoutout to netgalley and Yen press) I was stoked and still am pretty happy about it but I though it was familiar so I searched and behold it was in my saved section on webtoons. I’m so happy the author is getting it published. They really deserve it! It was so nice to just tapping after each page instead of scrolling and waiting for it to load on my phone. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Murray and Jacob. I love a good ball romance and the art was so lovely! The story is so sweet and we love Oswald in this household! Did. Murray is so patient and understanding towards Jacob. This book covers queer love and struggling through mental illness and so much more! I cant wait to get my hands on a physical copy!

I enjoyed the DID representation more than I enjoyed the actual story. It's overall a cute story, hits a lot of similar notes as other LGBTQIA+ stories, but I thought the way the author handled DID and didn't demonize it brought a freshness to the story that otherwise would have just felt too same-y to me. 3.5
I loved the art and the story was pretty okay. It felt a little rushed at times though. It was a nice read.
Beautifully illustrated graphic novel, I consumed it over one sitting. Would be a good title to read for fans of heartstopper who want something slightly more grown up. Very enjoyable
SO CUTE! This is the graphic novel I didn't know I needed. I love how we have a mental illness rep—haven't been seeing this. The story is lovely and the art is absolutely incredible.
This is was a fun read! Both characters have one hobby that's essentially their defining trait. So even though they don't have much depth, both boys are very sweet and easy to like. There's definitely a manga vibe in the pacing of some of the panels and the characters' dorky little thoughts written beside them. It's not always clear what's being spoken aloud versus what's being thought which was awkward. But the art generally is easy to follow and it's a clean style with a consistent mellow color palette.
The story is really cute until the violent homophobia gets thrown in, which didn't fit the tone of the rest of the story and I'm not convinced it was necessary. So that was disappointing in an otherwise comforting read. The relationship between the two boys though is sweet and I think the overall good vibe of the book comes from their unconditional support of one another. Obviously, my favorite moment was when one boy adopted the old dog that the other wanted but couldn't keep. Thank you to NetGalley and Yen Press for a digital edition to read!
CW: homophobia, mention of child abuse
Loved this graphic novel! The art is so cute and the story touches on very important subjects like mental health, bulling, found family, and first love. Would recommend it to anyone into cute romances like Heartstopper!
Cuckooes three is a gorgeous, delicate, and real exploration of LGBTQ+ and DID identity. The art style is stunning (and has always been my favourite for Shadowhunters art) and works perfectly for the tone of the story. I love how something so rarely featured in media such as DID is handled with care, representing the character not as an abuser but as a victim. I especially love that he's allowed a romance, and that he's allowed to be gay as well as mentally ill, meaning he isn't tokenised. Their blossoming relationship is also beautiful, and I love every part of it from their communication to their tender moments to their confusion and anger 🩷
it was an enjoyable read. the drawings are very cute and the highlight of the book. the story itself is light and entertaining and it was good to see their relationship develop.
if you need a light, mood booster book, this is a good choice.
also, reading books with such representation is always a plus!
This is one of the sweetest and most beautiful stories I've read in a while, with a masterful portrayal of D.I.D. and mental health. If you love Heartstopper, you won't want to miss this.
I really love this. I love the characters, the art and the writing so much. I like the mystery around Jacob at first, i really thought this was a fantasy book. But i really appreciate the DID representation. And Murry too, such a sweet guy. I love their friendship before their romantic relationship, and they are really really cute together.
tw child abuse
Thank you yenpress.

I absolutely loved seeing DID representation actually handled well!!! The romance was cute but a little bit rushed. The art was very good.
