"Two hidden bodies. One crumbling Tennessee mansion full of secrets. A killer who’s always one step ahead. Detective Chris Bailey thought he’d heard it all. But he’s never had a call like this. What if I told you I knew where his body was buried? Bailey is called to Ivy Manor, out in the sticks. An eerie old pile like this — ringed by dark woods and deep lakes on all sides — is sure to conjure rumors. And now the new owners found a bloody handprint, smeared across the front porch. Then a body finally surfaces — but Bailey can’t make it match his crime scene. This man’s been dead way too long to have left the fresh red print. So, where’s the second victim? "The search is on. And the clock is ticking . . ."
Is the second victim found? Will they figure out who the killer is? Will have to read the story to find out. Great storyline, suspenseful, fast paced, quick read. Kept attention whole time. First time read author, will read more of her books. I give this book 4 stars.

I thought this was really well written and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I think it will find readers at our library, so we will definitely be purchasing for the collection.
Unfortunately I was unable to finish this book. It did not grab my interest. I did not enjoy the character development and feel like the dialogue didn't flow well.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had never read this author before but I will be searching for other books by her. A good read.
I owe a big thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of Find His Grave by Kate Watterson. Overall, this book was an enjoyable read. It's just that I found it a bit challenging to truly connect with the characters, and the writing style left me desiring more depth and background. The story seemed to lack the intricate detailing and depth that could have allowed me to better understand the characters' emotions and thought processes. Despite these minor reservations, the book still held my interest.

I was a little creeped out when I started reading this. It is definitely a good read, with romance mixed into the mystery. I recommend😊.
New owner Cal Nolte just purchased Ivy Manor, an old home that needs a lot of repairs. Unfortunately, his plans for the house will be put on hold when he discovers a bloody handprint and notifies the authorities. Did someone die here?
No victim is located but a very scared young lady and her little girl have been using the house. Do they have any idea what could have happened there?
Detective Bailey is receiving some very strange calls from an anonymous source. They claim that they know where the body is buried. Whose body are they talking about? Is this connected to the case at Ivy Manor?
When a body is indeed located in the basement, the case gets even more complicated. It’s apparent that this victim has been there a while. What happened to him? Is there another victim? Can Bailey get to the bottom of this mystery?
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
This story started out a little weak but I stayed with it and it grew on me. One thing I liked was that the ending wasn’t obvious and I was surprised by it. At the end, it was a pleasant enough read, I’m not sure I’d read anything else by this author.
Something Nefarious..
The fourth in the Detective Chris Bailey series finds our protagonist called to a most unusual case. Ivy Manor, a secluded and daunting old pile and..a crime scene. Bloody handprints point to something nefarious but where on earth is the body? What follows is a bizarre and disturbing catalogue of events. Riddled with atmosphere, a twisting and turning plot populated with a deftly drawn cast makes for a solid entry to the series.
I really enjoyed this! The mystery was intriguing and I liked the romance. Overall, I enjoyed this and would recommend it! Special Thank You to Kate Watterson, Joffe Books, and NetGalley for allowing to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was such as a great mystery/thriller book! I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put it down! I did receive this as an arc, so I wasn't completely aware it was part of a series, but I still felt involved and caught up, for all intents and purposes. I am excited to actually go back and read the rest of the books in this series!!!
I am so sorry but I am having to DNF this book.
The story itself seems quite interesting however, the writing style seems very "clunky ' to me and it just doesn't flow making it really difficult for me to read.
This is only my personal opinion though and I am sure many others will enjoy your book.
I was gripped by this book from beginning to end! I didn't guess who was responsible for what until it was revealed. I also liked the humour that popped up in the plot. The characters were written well and the plot moved along fast enough that i kept reading without having to take a break
This was frustrating. The premise was interesting but the pacing was not great. The characters were very one dimensional and had the most mundane conversations. It jumped around so much it was hard to follow. I felt like we got so much story about personal relationships in the book that were at face value very simple but they were made to be over complicated and completely unnecessary.
In general, I definitely enjoyed this read. It’s a light, quick, curious thriller that has hints of romance.
However, I had a hard time connecting with the characters and I felt like I read books with a lot better writing. For me, there’s a lack of detail and history in the overal writing which makes me disconnect a little. There were many conversations without enough explaining what the character really is going through or thinking of. I definitely had to pick up the book a couple of times to get through. With good editing, this book has great potential.
I love the setting on this one. A man buys a historic mansion with the intention of turning it into a luxury hotel. I have been in some of those so I could visualize it well.
He brings his sister to see it and find a blood spot on the floor, more like a puddle, and a bloody handprint, but no body.
The cops are trying to find out where all the blood came from. It is very creepy and twisty.
Thank you for the ARC.
To be honest, I'm very on the fence about this one. It's a slow burn and feels a bit stiltedd at times. There are a lot of parts of back and forth that just feels disjointed and doesn't flow well and it isn't very clear who's pov it is.
The negative aside, it does have the bare bones of a good thriller! The plot is good, it's very character driven, there's a romance subplot thrown in which gives it an extra dimension and there's some really good twists and turns!
It wouldn't be my 1st choice to read but I did enjoy it
It's a weird, twisty, surprising and highly entertaining story that mixes southern gothic and mystery.
Well plotted, complex, and gripping
I thoroughly enjoyed it
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
OMG, this is a mystery that could have been unsolved if not for one man's arrogance - or mental instability! You have a crime scene that may or may not exist, but no victim. You later have a victim, but no context to his demise. All the while, you have a mysterious caller giving hints to a police officer. This all centers around an abandoned property recently sold. The squatters-in-residence play a crucial role in the progression of the investigation, but more tangentially than overtly. The lives of the primary characters are interconnected, and this also helps the investigation in unexpected ways. This mystery involves history, and links a cold case to a current crime. I love the way the mysterious hints started and lead the investigation! This is such a clever story and a thrilling read!
