Very entertaining book, not sure how much of it was true!
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
Quite entertaining. While not literature, this includes several memorable experiences that will stick with me for a while. Recommended.
I really appreciate the free copy for review!!
You make me laugh so much!!!!! Regarding the name thing, I live in Peru, a south american country, where is very popular to name children after popular actors or singers, My own name is quite an example Priscila Bethania. Yes, that Priscilla and there is a very popular singer in Brasil called Maria Bethania. I have met a couple of Mick Jagger's. This taxi driver would have a blast with the names here. Please, keep writing like this, I will love to read more of you.
Very enjoyable, I enjoyed all the stories and felt like this book was well captured with emotions by the author.
My thanks to NetGalley and TheBook Guild for a copy of “ Busy This Evening?” For an honest review.
I really enjoy reading books that give you an insight into different jobs , and this book was particularly humorous and fun to read.Chris Bastin comes across as a real character , and he’s definitely got a few tales to tell
I read this at a time that I really needed some light relief from a book and it definitely did the trick !
Looking for a book that is completely bonkers? Fear not, you've found it!
Buck is a London minicab driver, not to be confused with a driver of a London black cab (God forbid!). The author says he's fictional but I only half believe that.
This is the sort of book Terry Pratchett might have written on one of his bad days, or Billy Connelly might have written on one of his good days, or Bill Bryson might have written any day. That's not to say that Buck hasn't got an original voice. He most certainly has.
It's a dog eat dog life on London roads some days and Buck reflects on this and a great many other things. I think it would be quite an experience to be one of his passengers.
This is a bookvfull of wit and wisdom. A totally uplifting look at all those little things life seems to like throwing at us.
