I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

This was a great workbook for those in recovery. I appreciated the Plate by Plate approach presented in an easy to understand manner.

This book is absolutely everything that is wrong with eatibg disorder recovery. The book claims to revolutionize the eating plan approach, but instead places the same limits, same authority, and same barriers as it. It does not teach recovery, it teaches dependence on another crutch. Not only that, but the book belittles eating disorder sufferers and minimizes the severity and difficulty of the disease. It offers nothing new and is outdated and condescending.

I desired to read this because of my interest in distorted eating. I was so pleased that NetGalley provided an ARC for the purpose of this review. Four stars. It's in depth and full of research and case studies. But it's all presented in an understandable way. I loved that men were included and not just a spotlight on women with anorexia. I think the authors did a fantastic job with this topic.

How to Nourish Yourself through an Eating Disorder is a fantastic resource and guide for those struggling with eating disorders. This book is not specifically about any single disorder, but approaches healthy eating in a way that is conducive for sufferers of a variety of disorders.

The book begins with a very thorough attempt to help you understand your eating disorder and your unhealthy relationship to food. It goes over the signs and symptoms of eating disorders. As always, of course, it is best to work with your medical team. This is a wonderful place to start, though.

The second part of the book focuses on the Plate-by-Plate approach to eating. This focuses on getting a nutritious balanced meal into your body. It gives a few different options as guidelines and addresses some barriers that may be obstacles for some.

The third part of the book looks at some common issues and strategies for recovery. As expected, working with your medical team, creating a support system around you, and learning how to deal with your underlying problems are in this section. While a lot of this section is 'common sense' it is something we all need a reminder of, too! There's also a section on pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting.

The final part of this guide delves into finding food freedom and learning to navigate life in the real world in a safe and healthy manner, and learning to be happy with your body.

This guide is very thorough, covers many different aspects of dealing with an eating disorder, with the primary thing setting this book apart from others is there Plate-by-Plate Approach. This is an excellent resource and guide for anyone dealing with an eating disorder, or anyone who loves someone who is dealing with these problems.

Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to review this eARC in exchange for my honest review on the book!
