To take care of the people you love, you have to know what they need.
What a sweet story! Beatrice always wanted a pet to love and take care of. However, mom was not to keen on the normal pets most kids have. Mom did decide on Barb (cactus) catchy name :) . Beatrice loved on Barb and took care of her. However, Barb took a turn for the worst.
What does it mean to love and care for others is made simple when we know a few important facts. Kids and adults will love this priceless lesson.
A special thank you to Kids Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
A nice story about a girl who wants a pet and is only allowed a plant by her mother. It reminded me alot of the story Sophie's Squash in that they both take to unusual replacements for "pets" and that they both have to find a way to "fix" them when they start looking like they are wasting away. While I enjoyed the story, I can't help but feel a bit frustrated that neither the daughter or mother thought to do any research on the plant they picked up to act as a placement pet. Especially after the plant starts to look like it is wilting and dying.
This is a cute, different type of story about taking care of plant when a pet was requested. It was fun to read. Thanks #NetGalley
Thank you to NetGalley, along with the publisher for the eARC. A cute story about a girl who wants a pet, and is compromised with a venus fly trap plant. A great message about taking care of each other as well. The illustrations are bright and colorful which I appreciated while reading.
