I have enjoyed others in this series and the idea of an Earl wandering penniless around war torn France was a premise which I found intriguing and I was prepared to suspend belief for this one because I regard Emily Murdoch as a good author. I actually found myself liking the Earl in disguise and our heroine is so feisty, one couldn't help but like her. Great chemistry, very humorous dialogue, some mystery and a romance too! What's not to like. Five stars for a highly amusing read. My thanks to Dragon blade and Netgalley for this excellent read.

Burdened by his name’s dubious reputation - avoided by the ton afraid to be tainted by association - and tired of his dreary and lonely existence, Hugh Shardlow, Duke of Martock, left his life of luxury looking for an adventure in a war-torn France. Gambling and drinking seemed like a solid plan until his funds ran out in this dingy inn.
In walks a vision: a breathtaking young Englishwoman in need of gentlemanly assistance. Cad with a soiled reputation he might be, but he couldn’t leave a damsel in distress.
Beth Mead is determined to find her missing soldier brother in France. Last she and her sister heard he was injured and went missing. Even though her French is excellent, she might be in over her head on her own in a foreign and dangerous country. But there’s no turning back now. She has to find him!
Accepting help from a penniless Englishman offering his assistance in return for paying his passage back to England, goes against everything she ought to do. Then again, she never was one to abide by society’s rules.
📚 She’s fearless and brave, he’s more honourable than he thought. Unexpected feelings mingling with half-truths and assumptions. But trust comes at a price. Join them on their eventful and emotional journey as is turns out a rather rocky road to happiness!
Beautiful chemistry. The constant bickering between the brooding, disillusioned grump and this very willful and persisting ray of sunshine, is endearing. The ending feels a bit rushed, but all in all this is a fun, witty, romantic, adventurous and entertaining page-turner. A very enjoyable read!
📚 Forced proximity, unusual road trip, medium steam, grumpy/sunshine
Thank you to the author, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC! All opinions are entirely my own.

Every Duke Has His Price was a fine novel, but it still hasn't beaten the second book in the series, Strike While the Duke is Hot. This book featured the author's trademark tenderness, banter, and sigh-worthy romance. It was very similar to the previous book, A Duke in Time Saves Nine. They both included women enlisting the help of random handsome strangers to find their missing siblings on a journey across Europe. They were incredibly close in content, but thankfully this heroine was more amenable to stolen kisses from the hero. I can understand self-preservation, but it's no fun as a reader when characters refuse to engage in romance in a ROMANCE novel.
Every Duke Has His Price was a neat little jaunt, but it wasn't anything I haven't encountered before in my long tenure as romance reader. The hero and heroine circled around each other for half the novel before they finally gave in to the climbing physical tension. My favorite aspect of the novel was how quickly the hero simped over the heroine. He saw her in the French pub and he was already mentally purchasing a wedding ring. Some readers take umbrage with "insta-love", but I'm on a tight schedule. Let's get those love birds out of the nest as soon as possible. I got things to do and places to be. These fictional people need to kiss immediately! Hugh's utter infatuation with Beth was the highlight of this book and the only thing that saved me from being bored to tears.
Every Duke Has His Price wasn't my favorite installment in the Dukes in Danger series, but I'm determined to keep going. I loved her story about the lady blacksmith, but I still haven't found a sequel that matches the bliss I experienced with that particular book. This novel wasn't bad, but it was too similar to its predecessor. Overall, I'd throw a few shillings it's way because Every Duke Has His Price.

Beautiful Romantic Read
They met in France, journeyed through France looking for her brother and slowly fell in love!
Hugh was in France, drinking and gambling trying to forget the problems back in London, a Duke that no-one wanted to associate with now known as just Hugh when he came across Beth. A sassy, brave English woman looking to find her brother!
Both had secrets they kept from each other, slowly they came to mean so much more to each other and love blossomed only to be taken away when the truth was revealed.
Wonderful characters and personalities that shine, passionate and steamy moments make for a really enjoyable romantic read! A hero in the making waiting to claim his HEA with Beth his one true love!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Beth is back from the last book and in this book she finds her true love on an adventure in France. Hugh is head over heals for her just the way I love my MMC. He may not be honest about being a duke but he is honest about his feelings for her and I ate it up! The kisses were passionate, the story was was solid. This and the second are my favorites. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC to provide my honest opinion

Hugh, an English duke, finds himself without any money in France during the war. When he sees Beth, a pretty English woman, alone and searching for her missing soldier brother he steps in to help her. Through their journey they become closer. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

hank you NetGalley. Hugh Shadlow the Duke of Martock has gone to France to see what is happening there. He was bored with the same old in London. Now his is out of money and what to do now. He is use to not carrying money and just charging what he wants. He hears a young lady having a disagreement and she is English. Beth Mead has come looking for her brother. There are only the three of them left and she wants to bring him home. Hugh doesn't tell her he is a duke and she assumes he is a spy. They make a deal that he will help her and she will pay his fare to go across the channel. They look for weeks and he begins to care for her. He should tell her the truth but soon finds that is taken out of his hands. She is so mad she leaves him on the shore. He hears her brother's name while at an inn and as they say all's well that ends well.

One of the better entries in Murdoch's Dukes in Danger series, "Every Duke Has His Price" picks up on the story of the Mead sisters' search for their soldier brother who has gone missing in France. Beth has traveled to France in search of her brother, and somehow makes it through several weeks before running into what seems to be a level of trouble she cannot fix on her own. Luckily, Hugh Shardlow, Duke of Martock, happens to be in the same place. Hugh has run out of money and out of options having left England to seek different adventures and to escape the terrible reputation of his family.
The two pool forces but Hugh is not honest with Beth, thus setting up the eventual third act separation. There is good chemistry between the duo even as they are very different people. Their journey around the French countryside does not seem super realistic, and the idea that anyone in the ton would actually shun a duke seems remarkably far-fetched, at least based on every other regency-era romance I have read. But the spice is decent and the character development good.
4 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonsblade for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

Emily EK Murdoch captured my heart with her flawless words, deep emotions and not so perfect main characters. This was a beautiful love story with all the feels involved and one that I will re-read many times over. An emotional romance that is a MUST READ.
