So many different brain puzzles (with answers). Enjoyed working through them. Some didn't display great on my Kindle but nonetheless enjoyed working through the majority that worked.

It is a good collection of puzzles with a gradual increase in difficulty. I recommend this collection of puzzles as a physical book as the ebook lacked illustrations and colors to help in solving puzzles.
Thank you to NetGalley and Humanix Books for an ARC and for the opportunity to review this book.

Not too much variation, I did feel it was the same puzzles repeating but there might be a reason for that. I liked how the solutions were on the next page, so you didn't have to flip back and forth to the end of the book. I also appreciated the facts on brain health and other resources included.

Took this on holiday to see if it entertained me on a flight and did find some of the puzzles very good. Unfortunately it’s not really designed for kindle use and so a lot of time I was very restricted.

Unfortunately, this is not compatible for kindle app on IOS. I was not expecting to have chapter after chapter of explanation on why puzzle games help the mind. It got a bit repetitive after awhile. I was expecting just fun puzzles right off the bat. It felt like I was reading a college sophomore psychology book for a grade, and not for fun and entertainment .The solution was literally right next to the question so it didn’t make it challenging. Would be better if the the solutions were at the very back of the book. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this book compared to other brain game books I’ve read in the past.

It's ai nice collect of puzzles and games with gradual increase in difficulty. I would recommend this book to aging family members or friends. Or if you are into these types of brain teaser puzzles.

As a puzzle lover, I looked forward to reading this book. The puzzles are in the latest science of what will help keep a brain nimble, but they certainly were a mix of easy to challenging. My only caveat is that I received an e-ARC of the book that lacked illustration and colors which affected the ability to solve a number of the puzzles.

This book is fun!! I just reviewed Brain Games to Exercise Your Mind by Gary Small, MD. #BrainGamestoExerciseYourMind #NetGalley

I enjoyed this book as much as possible using the Kindle version. I didn't get all the pictures and puzzles and also a ton of words were cut out.
However, the content was very entertaining and informative. Learning about different brain games, excercise, foods, and social activities that can aide in preventing or lowering risk of dementia and/or memory loss was appreciated.
Tons of cool tips and tricks in here, I just wasn't a fan of the layout of the book and he order of chapters.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this to me for an honest review!

Brain Games to Exercise Your Mind not only clearly outlines the theory and scientific findings on how to keep your mind agile as we grow older, but it also has great tips and games to try out. I knew some of the findings in this book but I also learned new things. I love to search things on the internet and apparently that is good for the brain. The author gives examples for ways to cross-train our brains - from visual spatial (like jigsaw puzzles), language (crosswords and Scrabble), problem solving (Sudoku, logic, riddles) and memory/concentration (match games, trivial pursuit). Once the author outlines this the next sections are a variety of puzzles and I got completely absorbed trying some of them out. One of the insights about memory is we need to learn to focus our attention -- how many times has someone told me something but because I was not giving it my complete attention, I completely forget what they just told me. Some of the tips include focusing attention, visualizing what you want to remember and create mental associations that link visual images making it easier to recall (craft stories). Tips on nutrition and a chapter on a daily 2 morning activity that will help us focus for 2 hours - I am looking forward to giving this a try tomorrow morning. He also lists websites for additional puzzles. This is an easy read with lots of great tips and games.

Thank you to Netgalley and Humanix Books for an ARC and I left this review voluntarily.

I have a family history of dementia and I’m not getting any younger so I wanted to see what this book was all about.
It’s very straightforward and easy to understand the why’s of memory loss and the importance of puzzles or should I say exercises for the brain. I appreciated the format and found all of it helpful. The best part of it is the understanding why and how I want to take care of my brain. I’m giving it a 4⭐️.
Thanks Humanix Books via NetGalley.

I don't feel any smarter but this was a fun little puzzle book.
Some of the puzzles have a familiar feel and I have probably seen them before.
I would prefer the answers separately in the back instead of the next page since it's too easy to cheat and find the solution just by scrolling

The simplest solution to change TALL to RAIN would be TAIL, RAIL, RAIN. One less step.

I LOVE the types of puzzles that are in this book. I am a victim of multi-tasking and there are days my brain feels fried. I go to this book and do a few puzzles just for a brain reboot, and it feels great to just stop and have to think instead of react.

This is a very useful and important book for all of us, as we all want to keep our minds functioning.
The book is split in two sections, one with general information and one with the games. The games are placed first, which doesn't seem logical, but I think it will make people actually read the whole text instead of skipping it.
I don't agree with everything (like daytime napping), but for most people there's a lot of useful information here.

This wasn't what I expected in a book. The book contains mostly suggestions of different activities to stimulate your brain, not interactive at all.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

I'm a huge fan of all types of mental puzzles so I was thrilled to be able to read through an eARC of Brain Games to Exercise Your Mind. There are definitely some fun puzzles here that will tickle you brain but not so hard as to frustrate you. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do all the puzzles because in the eARC a number of the figures I was supposed to reference for the puzzles were absent. I have no doubt that will not be the case with the official release. That being said I will still recommend going with a physical version of this book, if for no other reason than to have the answers on a separate page from the puzzles themselves. Thanks so much to Humanix Books and NetGalley for the eARC.

Seems like a lot of fun, but on the Kindle version I just used there are no images. So some of the puzzles like the squares inside squares don't show.

A book that stimulates your brain, waking it from its slumber with its entertaining puzzles. I especially liked the word puzzles. They were engaging and entertaining, making this book a delightful companion.

I could not read this book properly in document form. I love brain puzzles but the solutions were next to the puzzle which was annoying. I will look out for this in correct format.
