A new and fresh take on the sci-fi genre

This book was an absolute joy to read and a nice step outside my comfort zone of Fantasy- the story is very well written and I thoroughly enjoy the authors writing style. It's a quick, interesting and attention-grabbing read that is sure to get you excited for the second in the series.

The Jade Rebellion is a beautiful mix of sci-fi and fantasy as we follow Walter on his Adventure to save the woman he loves. In a world where the AI Masters have taken over leaving humans as the sub-species, where they can live a life under the Masters scrutiny within the Crystal City or in the slums of the outside towns.

The only part of this book that fell flat for me was the conversation as there is little to none in the first portion of the book. The lack thereof made it difficult for me to connect to the characters especially as it is written in third person, however, this hasn't turned me off reading the rest of the series and I'm quite excited to do so!
