I found this book mind numbing but my 9 year old and I were listening together and he LOVED it. I was not at all invested in the outcome and I didn’t particularly care about the rock star/every day girl.
My kids loved this one! It was the perfect addition to our recent road trip, the story was captivating and we were all drawn in my the narration.
I’ve been reading and loving Randy Wayne White’s work since sometime in the early 90’s. So when in 2020 or so he came out with a series geared at a younger audience but that still featured Doc Ford I had no problem jumping right in. That book of course was Fins, the first book in the Shark Incorporated series. I was immediately charmed by it and am now thrilled that Megalops has arrived. (Book 4 of the Shark Incorporated series)
This time around Luke and the sisters, Maribel and Sabina, once again get caught up in some trouble when Luke and Doc spy some shenanigans going on at the professional tarpon rodeo. Over the course of the story Luke nearly loses a leg to a 60 foot hammerhead shark, has a run in with the giant croc from the previous book in the series, and he befriends a social media star who has plenty of her own problems. It’s a fun, action filled story, and while yes this series may be geared toward a younger audience I have no reservations about recommending it to people of all ages. Ford’s and the kids’ dedication to the environment and nature in general is admirable and enjoyable without being preachy. And I have to say this is one of the few series my nephew, who is not a big reader at all, actually looks forward to so I already have a copy on order for him. The talented Tristan Morris once again returns to narrate and as always does a fantastic job. I’d like to thank Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review an advanced copy of the audio version of Megalops.

*Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy of Megalops.
This is the first book I've read/listened to from Randy White. I was unaware that this was the 4th in a series, but I don't think you need to read the previous ones to enjoy Megalops.
The main characters come across some suspicious activity during a celebrity fishing tournament. The friends decide to do some snooping & find more questionable actions involving animals.
This story follows the lives of the 3 Sharks Inc. kids & a new friend they meet along the way. It has a good message of finding who you really are & being true to yourself.
I'd listen to the rest of the Sharks Inc. Series if given the opportunity.
