Absolutely love Monica’s writing style.

This book had an amazing enemies to lovers mixed with a fake dating romance. The dynamics of Scarlett & Tate were electric from the first kiss.
Privileged girl meets troubled boy and all the fluids deliciousness that comes with it.

Can’t wait for the next Monica Murphy book!

This is my first book by Monica Murphy and I was not disappointed! I love the fake dating trope so the synopsis drew me right in. Plus, who doesn't love a reformed partyboy pop star? "Lonely For You Only" is a fun, well written romance that will give you all the feels. The dual POV gives readers insight to both main characters and makes them more relatable/likable. It gives the story more depth and makes it that much more engaging by letting the character feel more connected to both Scarlett and Tate.

There's definitely solid chemistry between Tate and Scarlett (who also just have really great names!) and some clear character development throughout the novel. It's not just a romance but also a story about identity and moving forward despite the past. In Tate's case that means reestablishing himself and career after years of pain and partying and for Scarlett it means figuring out who she is beyond her family name. Together, they are able to support each other and find their happiness.

It's emotional, engaging, funny, basically all the things you want from a good romance. The main characters are easy to root for and relate to in some way. If you like fake dating, forced proximity, good girl/bad boy, and celebrity romance then this is a great choice!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced digital copy from Blackstone Publishing via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✨Boy Obsessed
✨Pop Star Romance

“Lonely For You Only” follows the story of Scarlett Lancaster and Tate Ramsey. They both start their relationship on the wrong foot, she’s an heiress who expected someone else as her birthday present but instead, she got her ex-favorite singer. She did not react well to the news which led to a heated discussion that forced them to start a fake relationship to salvage Tate’s ruined reputation as a troubled singer.

Tate was obsessed with Scarlett since he first saw her; he could not understand why, considering she was not his type at all. When he begged her to help him restore his reputation by dating him, he fell so hard for her. How we see his character struggle with what harmed him in the past is gut-wrenching. He fought and conquered his demons with Scarlett’s support throughout his rocky journey.

Monica outdid herself once again with another Lancaster character, this book was slightly different than her Lancaster Prep series, but it was good all the same.

This is such a sweet slow burn new age romance! Monica Murphy wrote a great enemies to lovers rock star romance! The characters are well rounded for their age group (18 & 21). Scarlet is sassy and spoiled with a caring and giving heart and has great character growth. Tate is the sexy reformed bad boy, trying to make a career comeback after blowing it when he was younger. I couldn’t stand Ian, he is totally a douche. This was an easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed!

[This is an unbiased & voluntary review]. I think I missed Crew & Wren’s story so much because once I got this copy I DEVOURED it so quickly. Let’s be real here, all of these tropes made the book seem amazing and it was! But for me personally, there were just some scenes that made me put the book down a few times because it was a bit uncomfortable and hilarious to read. Other than that though, I liked how it was like a typical romance book. It was fun, witty, and had fantastic main leads that didn’t seem forced together. Not my favorite Monica Murphy book, but I still recommend it if you like a simple romance read :)

I felt so much for and with the characters, it felt like I was with them in their story the whole time.
Scarlett is so nothing like her parents are or they would want her to be.
She is shy, quiet and wants to be seen for her own and not because of who she is or who her parents are.
Tate gets his second chance in life out of nowhere and he is determined to take it. But with his past, he is insecure and afraid that the mistakes of the same past will repeat themself or catch up to him.
Coincidence brings Scarlett and him together and makes them into something they are not.
But slowly both realize that may be exactly what they need. She believes in him and gives him confidence.
And being with him slowly makes Scarlett into her own person.
More importantly they find each other, but where there is success there is jealousy.
And so miscommunication and fear are there and take over. Will they be able to overcome their insecurities, fears and doubts or are they over before they even could be something?

Scarlett and Tate too have grown up throughout the story. They learned from past mistakes and from actual life and how to handle themselves. They grew into better and stronger versions of themselves. Especially Scarlett, who set herself under a lot of pressure to be seen for herself and break free a little from her parents.
I really appreciated that there was no really overwhelming drama from the outside.
I could have followed their story a lot more, but at the same time the ending was fitting.
Loved this story a lot.

Scarlett just turned 18 and has been thrown a huge birthday party by her parents. There was a bunch of entertainment and performers present, along with former boyband member, Tate Ramsey. In a series of events, she ends up kissing Tate. After the party, she is overwhelmed with the amount of attention that came from the kiss and isn't sure what to do about it. All she knows is that she wants to do something different and interesting with her life. When Tate asks her to be his fake girlfriend to help restart his music career, she eventually agrees. They have to pretend, and it eventually becomes too easy for them both.
I really enjoyed this story! I have loved everything I've read by Monica, and this was no different.

Monica Murphy does it again.

Every time I pick a book, while it feels familiar (due to knowing the writing style) yet it’s still surprising when it feels completely new & thrills me to dive deeper.

When the has been rockstar has a second chance, and is faced with a series of challenges - his only solid option seems to work towards an unlikely pairing.

Can he withstand the temptations of the past?
The main character’s tension is palpable, the chemistry? Totally had me salivate.

So when you add in a billionaire heiress, somewhat sheltered, and living under the shadow of her name, can they face the music?
Is their arrangement- exactly what they want? Or is it more of a need?

This was a deliciously good slow burn, with a side of enemies to lovers.

10/10 recommend!

When the has-been lead singer of Five Car Pileup, Tate Ramsey, books a gig performing at Scarlett Lancaster’s eighteenth birthday party, it seemed too good to be true.

Always in the shadow of her parents, Scarlett has been dreaming of a way to standout on her own. When Tate proposes a relationship, it seems the solution to help them both get what they’re after.

A light, low-angst read, perfect for cleansing your palate.

I’ve been in a huge reading slump the last few weeks and Lonely For You Only has completely changed that for me.

Lonely For You Only is a rockstar meets heiress slow burn with a side of fake dating romance. Tate Ramsey is a ex boy band member trying to make it big once again so when he is hired to perform at a 18 year olds birthday party he can’t turn it down. Scarlett Lancaster is a heiress looking for her identity. She meets Tate Ramsey and let’s just say it’s not love at first sight….it is a slow burn after all. That’s where their story begins.

Fake dating was never my favorite but there really isn’t anything Monica Murphy will publish that I won’t read. I love her books and her Lancaster series is one of the best. Lonely For You Only was a cute story. I was hooked on Tate and Scar from the beginning. They are honestly the one couple I would never see coming. Totally opposite from each other but that’s why fake dating troupes work. Monica did her thing with this one. I have nothing but great things to say about it. The only thing I can say that I’m not happy about is that I finished it too fast. This story had me hooked line and sinker.

This was such a fun, cute read! This is definitely a lot lighter compared to some of the Lancaster Prep series, but still giving us all the glamour of that world.

I loved Tate. Compared to some of our other Lancaster Prep men, he was a bit of a golden retriever type, and I loved watching him dote on Scarlett. I also enjoyed Scarlett - she is a young woman desperate to find her way in the world, but is worried about living up to expectations and about finding out who she is.

If you enjoy, fake dating your childhood crush while he makes his rockstar comeback, check this out!

You know what’s kinda nice? When a guy who isn’t a NICE guy gets left in the dust. Not even a second thought. Oh, that’s fantastic. And that’s sort of what happens here. Scarlett thinks she’s meant for one person, but that one person? He’s a coward. A jerk. A mean boy playing a game. And Tate? Oh, that man is exactly who Scarlett deserves. But when things once promised to remain locked up tumble out into the light, doubts hit. Well, one of them. The other puts it all on the line and hopes that they don’t get crushed. It’s a good thing there’s an ally close at hand to help make sure the worst doesn’t happen! I admit that I was a tad worried about how this might go. Reformed bad boy celebrity, rich and naive (or so we think) woman. But this is a pleasant surprise. There’s not a ton of drama. There’s a lot of growing from strangers to lovers to everything, which makes it easy to forget just what’s at stake here. And maybe that’s exactly what we all need for a few hours. To forget while enjoying Scarlett and Tate.

this was such a sweet book. this was another great book by Monica Murphy.
this a coming of age romance between a rock star and a heiress. I found this to be different from the other books in the series, a little bit more slow burn but truly cute.
I loved how the story played out without major drama or complications. this was truly a sweet romance (but with a little bit of spice).
their relationship changed a lot and I loved to see them grow as individuals and then as couple.
this is a easy read if you are looking for a cute and sweet romance.

thank you Valentine PR and Monica Murphy for the ARC.

“We do only live once. We need to make the most of what we've got and enjoy it while it's all happening. Instead of wasting away and wondering if someone is going to notice. Going to care. Going to make a move.”

Title: Lonely for you only
Author: Monica Murphy
Pages: 294
Genre: Romance, New adult

⚠️TW: misogyny, alcoholism and substance adiction (past)

🎤This is the first book i read from this author, so I had some expectations in it and unfortunately, I didn’t quite like it, mainly because of the characters. We have Scarlett who basically was just a rich girl and influencer, and I REALLY wanted to see her finding her own place as she wanted it, but that goal of her just disappeared through the story. And I just couldn’t love Tate, there were a lot of comments that he said that made feel mad and uncomfortable with him, I couldn’t unsee the red flags.

🎤There was tension between the characters, which I liked, and the trope of fake dating is one of my favorites so everyone okey there, also all this vibe of the ex-boyband bad boy who now has a new chance to come back and make his music was pretty entertaining, and I liked that the music was an important part of the story.

🎤In general it was a read that entertain me but nothing more, the characters and the story had potential, but it wasn’t developed in the right path.

Thanks to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing and the author for this ARC in exchange of a honest review.

This was so cute and sweet. A stark contras to the other books in this series. Where the others were darkish and heavy this one was lighter and sweeter. Definitely a slow burn with some tension for the build up. I was a bit angsty near the end where you just wanted them to get to their happy ending. What started out fake definitely didn't end fake. There were times that you felt bad for them, but I just knew things will work out in the end. I always love the way that this author writes character growth, because I always love her characters at the end of a book.

There was only one problem, no epilogue. I love seeing what happens to them, it gives me closure.

Overall a good book! I loved seeing the One Direction nods and the fact that Tate's band he originally was in was a 1D "knockoff". You see Scarlett really grow throughout the book from a shy girl into someone who stands up for herself.

Scarlett decides her 18th birthday party is the night that everything changes for her. From her huge dress which will put her firmly in the limelight, the complete opposite of her usual reserved self, to the hope that her crush of 2 years will finally make his move now she’s old enough to be with him.

Well her party defiantly does put Scarlett Lancaster in the limelight but not for the reasons she had hoped. The ex boy band member, Tate Ramsey, whom Scarletts dad has arranged to perform at her party, puts on a great performance and when they’re seen bickering by the paparazzi, which would paint Ramsey in an unfavourable light, they decide to stage a kiss to save his reputation.

The kiss blows up and the country is suddenly enamoured with the latest celebrity couple so much so that Scarlett’s life snowballs out of control. Tate and Scarlett agree to keep up the ruse as friends but this turns out to be harder than they banked on.

Lonely For You Only is a beautifully emotional story of love, lust, trust and second chances in life.

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC!

Monica Murphy's Lonely For You Only is a delightful and heartwarming contemporary romance that explores the complexities of fame, second chances, and unexpected love.

Scarlett Lancaster, a young heiress, and Tate Ramsey, a former pop star seeking a comeback, are thrown together in a whirlwind of fame and fake relationships. The story unfolds with a delightful mix of humor, charm, and emotional depth.

The characters are well-developed, each carrying their own vulnerabilities and past struggles. Scarlett's initial disappointment in not getting the pop star she expected at her birthday party adds a touch of humor, setting the stage for a fake relationship that turns out to be more genuine than they anticipated.

The fake relationship trope is executed with finesse, allowing readers to witness the gradual development of real emotions between Scarlett and Tate. The chemistry between them is palpable, and the slow burn romance is both satisfying and believable.

Monica Murphy skillfully explores the challenges of fame, redemption, and the impact of public perception on personal lives. Tate's journey toward sobriety and Scarlett's quest for independence add layers to the narrative, making it more than just a love story.
The pacing is well-balanced, with moments of levity and emotional depth. The writing style is engaging, and the dialogue flows naturally, capturing the authenticity of the characters' interactions.

While some elements of the plot may follow familiar romance tropes, Murphy injects freshness into the narrative through well-crafted characters and a nuanced exploration of personal growth and self-discovery.

Lonely For You Only is a charming and feel-good romance that explores the transformative power of love and the unexpected paths it can take. Recommended for readers who enjoy contemporary romances with a mix of humor, heart, and a touch of celebrity glamour.
